  1. If, and it’s a big IF, the team that started against Chelsea can stay fit, we have a chance. An injury to McGinn, Watkins, Martinez, Kamara, Luiz etc. in the form they’re in, would really set us back. With Coutinho and Cash to come back too, we will have a few more options. It’s all about setting us up for the finish. Win against Leicester and Forest and we go into the final 8 matches playing all the teams around us. It’s a dogfight then. Momentum is key.
  2. We just have to keep winning. The only two teams in the league who consistently win are Arsenal and Man City. Newcastle may well be the best of the rest and have momentum. United are on a horrible run of form and look lost without Casemiro. Spurs are managerless and Chelsea are likely to be soon too. Liverpool are hit and miss. An injury to Kane would be catastrophic for Spurs. We’ll need a helluva lot of luck to finish in the top 6/7, but all we can do is keep winning games and closing the gap. We have an outside chance and the fixtures are reasonably kind. 7 points from the next 3 and you just never know!
  3. I watched him again today and he’s head and shoulders above anyone else in their side, including Ward Prowse. He’ll be moving in the summer.
  4. Pau Torres, Kudus and Guendouzi would be a decent window. Maybe throw a right back in there too.
  5. Has the ability to play multiple positions. Think the manager prefers him to Dendoncker? Good to have a couple of players like Chambers in the squad, albeit of a higher quality.
  6. Would love us to go and get Felix for a good price.
  7. Scoring early is important. We’ll win by 2/3 if we do.
  8. No chance? Why? If he was on 11k at Betis, why would Villa have to give him anywhere near 80-100k a week? We’ve tripled his wages and given him the chance to play in the best league in the world. He’s also approaching 30, so no need to go mental on the wages. Honestly, this was just a deal that made sense for everybody. We needed a more dynamic left back, Betis got a very good fee for a player who won’t command one at all in a couple of years and Moreno more than tripled his wages.
  9. He was absolutely outstanding today. I think he’s been MOTM at least 5 times in the last couple of months. He’s been immense.
  10. Me included, perhaps Mings aside who I’ve always had a soft spot for. Luiz, McGinn and Konsa have gone up several gears since Emery came in. It’s been a truly outstanding appointment. If we can just get it right in the Summer, we’ll have a good go at being genuine top 6 contenders next season.
  11. Big game against Leicester mid week. I’m still not convinced we can do it, but win that and I will be. 3 points there would be huge.
  12. Funny you say this. The pessimist in me always looks at the clock and as every minute passes I think, even if they score, they won’t have time to score a second! That said, as soon as we went two up, Chelsea could have played until Christmas and not have scored. Being brutally honest, I’ll be surprised if we finished above them, but either way, I’d be worried if I was a Chelsea fan. They’ve spent a LOT of money and you can’t see a lot for it.
  13. Bloody hell. I’ve just left the pub and missed it.
  14. Not sure how we’re winning. They’ve peppered us. That said, we probably should have scored one or two more. Odd game. Don’t think we’ll win if we play like that second half. Mings has a mistake in him today I feel. One that will get punished.
  15. Needs to be backed. If he wants 3 players for £120-150m, he needs to get them to move the team forward.
  16. His attitude and personality have never been in question. Every manager has loved him. I think he’s clearly a good choice for being club captain but I still don’t agree with the way it happened - that was a complete sh*t show. I still think we need to go into the Summer with the intention that we can improve upon both him and Ramsey. It’s not coincidence that McGinn’s form has been a lot better when a) he’s playing in a position that suits his skillset more, and b) he has a real fight on his hands to get into the team. Competition is healthy. If we’re in a position next season where Ramsey and McGinn are starting on the bench, we’ll be challenging for Europe as we’ll have got the Summer window right.
