    I think the club realise that promotion is not looking too achievable currently and that thinking short term, like we did with Bruce, will just result in more mess needing to be sorted in the summer.

    He had one small spell of excellence. The fact is he is not an excellent player at this level.

    He just isn't very good. He barely touches the ball, his first touch and passing is abysmal and his finishing is vastly overrated.

    An utter disaster of a signing. A complete panic buy of a player who had a purple patch. We were well and truly done.

    This guy makes Scott Hogan look a proper proven goal scorer.

    His freak injury allowed him to gain some much needed physical improvements and I think JT had more of an influence. I seriously doubt Steve Bruce was vital for what we saw from Jack last year.

    They aren't a charity. Why would they like to take a gamble and try to sort out another teams player?

    To think, some wanted him straight in the team when smith arrived. Not in the squad last 2 games, i hope that means there is a real chance of shifting him.

    I just don't get the criticism at times. He has 4 goals and 8 assists. He attempts more passes than the vast majority of our team and he keeps the ball more than the vast majority of our team. If he could do that and control the game and make great tackles does anyone believe he would be here or that we could have signed him for so little?

    Probably why smith isn't switching formations as some fans want. System gets the best out of best player.

    I think in terms of weakness on the ball, it was enough to see that some development is needed. I'm not writing him off, he clearly has something about him. I think if he was up to is, smith would give him more of a chance.

    I think some people need to get used to the idea that this is a long term thing. That smith will have a system and a style and we will build to that. We won't chop and change and try random things in the hope of short term fixes.

    He was woeful in the cup game. Far too weak on the ball. Like Jack, a loan spell lower down will help. Maybe good enough in the future, may have odd moments now but not ready to be playing first team football for us on a regular basis.
