I've warmed to Steve Bruce over the years (notwithstanding his Blues connections and those criminally and heartbreakingly late goals he scored against Sheffield Wednesday). He seems like a decent bloke. I hope they stay up.... but think that has more to do with the fact that I really want Newcastle to go down.

One of my favourite Villa players of all time. However, how does he keep getting work in management? He's just suffered his third relegation (Doncaster, Wolves and Crawley) and now has just been unveiled as the new Chesterfield boss.

Not googled it. I know he's played in the top 5 divisions and the world cup. Not sure on intertoto or champions league though. It's a famous pub quiz question.

Maybe they can profit on their Baggies love in and form 'West Small Heath Albion' and jointly push the envelope further with their jealousy of the Villa. And why throw sausages? Potatoes would be more appropriate. There's enough collective chips on shoulders after all.

I think it all highlights the sheer small mindedness of West Brom. As someone mentioned, their statement was classless and typical of what they have become after a couple of seasons in the prem. Their chairman rightly said last season that they are a mid table team at best and this serves to highlight it -
How? Aren't they up to their tits in debt with a balance sheet that's a mess? Not unmanageable debt by modern football owner comparisons. It's just if you have an owner in prison and don't have a pot to pi$$ in, any debt is huge. Best we can hope for in the short term is a 10 point penalty.

Receivership is different to admin. It could mark their re-emergence (assuming they had an initial emergence ever). Blues are the only sellable (term used loosely) asset. Someone could pick up a bargain. Just hope it isn't someone with a business brain.

The FA cup draw will engender an all embracing Baggies/SHA love in. Look on as they sing each other's songs and compete over who is the most obsessed with Villa.

If I was a fan of the Tesco bags, this new bloke wouldn't fill me with confidence. He seems a bit of a joker. For one, his record doesn't fill me with confidence and 2) he doesn't seem to know that WBA don't have the skills and craft to play the Spanish way. I can see them going down and to be honest the lower end of the championship is where they belong. The fans, the chairman, the area, the attitudes, everything smacks of small time.

I have heard that his Hong Kong based assets have been frozen, meaning that Blues are his main source of income.

Trouble is the press love MON. Someone should have pointed out that he did sign in excess of 15 players at Villa: Shorey, Davies, Knight, Sidwell, NRC - the list of overhyped British mercenaries goes on. We're still recovering from his tenure.

Not sure if they did take fans. But if they did, it would have been their biggest away following of the season.
