  1. The best we can hope for is that a supporters trust takes them over and they continue to be somewhere between rubbish and mediocre with not a great deal of money. My fear is that in the future Birmingham will bid for the commonwealth games. That could mean there is a ready made new stadium for them to move into. That would be horrible.
  2. Football is a crazy world. In what other scenario would someone be earning 10x that of his manager?
  3. Really pleased hancox missed. He's always on twitter slagging off Villa.
  4. I think they're mostly awful. Collymore is very knowledgeable and comes across as being quite eloquent. If only he wore the Villa shirt with as much passion as he talks about them. Honourable mention for Hawksbee too. Someone rightly pointed out he carries Jacobs through the afternoon show. The worst. Mickey Quinn and Georgie Bingham (her droning shriek makes me want to throw the radio out of the window). I also find Johnny Vaughan to be pretty bad too.
  5. I hear snippets. He won £1.6 million gambling. Shame his gamble at Blues wasn't so successful
  6. I find this helpful: http://www.live-footballontv.com/
  7. Who's to say Paladini is the one fabricating the evidence? He's the biggest self publicist out there.
  8. Harry Redknapp is the same age as my dad, but if my old man was to behave in this way and launch some poisonous, self serving, bitte rant against everyone he's ever known I would be embarrassed. It's what you would expect from Joey Barton but it's not becoming of a man in his 60s..... and it's thoroughly disrespectful to betray the confidence of people he has worked with,
  9. From another associate of Paladini. Pannu is no longer blocking the sale, although it isn't done and dusted yet. Paladini thinks that Clark has been working with one arm tied behind his back, and deserves a chance. I guess this points to any Warnock involvement being the suggested DOF type role, rather than my suggestion that he could be their next manager. The whole deal should be sorted in the next week or so but, if it falls through, then somewhere in mid-November the crisis will start to build towards their potential Armageddon. It does appear that they are at the last chance saloon. Fingers crossed the deal falls through then so that the fun can really start. I loathe both City and Colin so hopefully it will end in tears for both parties. I remember a similar thing at Liverpool a few seasons back. Hicks and Gillette were the owners and Martin Broughton, the chairman. Broughton oversaw the sale of the club to Fenway against the will of the chairmen. Never understood how that was able to happen.
  10. Me too. Highly underrated. Excellent central defensive partnership with Paul McGrath.
  11. Villa fans of a certain vintage will remember him. Harry Redknapp isn't too complimentary about his missus. If I remember correctly she also once phoned up Tom Ross complaining that he was criticising her husband. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2451421/Harry-Redknapp-book-The-stories-maddest-transfer-deals--Paulo-Futre-Amdy-Faye-Paolo-Di-Canio-more.html
  12. This also provides me with a problem. I for one like Warnock. Having met him, he is actually a thoroughly nice bloke who has immense passion for football. However, being as how SHA are the antithesis of a proper football club and can't muster a gate much over 13k for a home game he would do well to steer well clear.
  13. Pannu has denied the takeover is close. What is the hurry? How long before that 10 point deduction?
  14. They like our ex managers. Next stop Houllier.... or even Billy McNeill. That would be a laugh.
  15. I can hear the sound of knuckles being dragged along tarmac
  16. This gift keeps giving: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/local-news/birmingham-city-fan-margaret-decker-6117008
  17. I paid to have my car serviced on Saturday afternoon and my car is yet to be charged (as of Thursday morning). A number of payments that were made since then have been debited. Is there any chance I may have got a free service?
  18. Some of these views are akin to the Alex McLeish School of Management. Let's accept defeat before even stepping out on the park and see if we can keep the score down. If he's fit he must play
  19. I cannot abide Jamie Carragher. He encapsulates everything about the Scouse hypocrisy which has riled me throughout years of watching football. As for his point, how can he compare 3 very different players? It's a nothing article. His whole basis of his argument is that Gerrard and Lampard have scored more goals than Scholes. What does that tell us? How many of those were free kicks/penalties. He doesn't even mention contribution to overall play. Assists, pass completion rate etc. That's quite apart from the fact that Scholes has won more than both of them put together.
  20. what a genuinely detestable football club. Lulus showing their class again
  21. I don't care about derbies. I would go as far to say I would rather not have them. Too much stress, ridiculous kick off times (sometimes) and the opportunity for both sets of fans to behave like knuckle dragging morons. No complaints whatsoever from me if the Baggies go down. Not like they bring anything to the premier league.... At least a team like Norwich have interesting coloured shirts.
  22. Murmurings of discontent from Clarke. Announcing his frustrations at the lack of action in the transfer market. It's going to be a long old season for that little team from the Black Country.
  23. The story is about Holloway getting abuse and the abuser receiving a ban. You have used that to have a go at the victim of the abuse because you already have a grudge against the guy. This bloke sits behind the dug out for every game and no one else has complained. Whilst there is a line that you don't cross, there is nothing to suggest that this was anything more than a bit of banter. If he can't take it he shouldn't be in football management.
  24. Yeah very sad news. Cuts across football rivalries. RIP that man.
