  1. United or Chelsea could be in a cup final. Even if they do play a second string it will still be full of players trying to lay claim to a starting place in the final. In professional sport, nothing is taken for granted and no favours are given
  2. Fearing Sunderland will get a result out of United a week on Saturday. Ominously, the semi final replay is on the Monday - 48 hours after. United are sure to rest one or two players with the league virtually in the bag.
  3. Following @barrybateman on twitter. First with the news. The prosecution is summing up. There's some woefully subjective evidence being thrown out there. Haven't seen this much hear'say since 2001
  4. Anyone remember the OJ Simpson case when the defence realised quite early on in the trial that the only way they had a chance of winning was to completely discredit and destroy the reputation of the lead officer? I remember they delved right back into Mark Fuhrman's past and discovered he had previously been cautioned for using racist language. Albeit this is fairly topical being a pending trial but their defence will surely centre on the unreliability of believing someone who himself is on a charge
  5. They didn't even take steps to establish whether the gun belonged to Pistorius, which it didn't. Jesus wept - South African police, take a bow.
  6. The prosecution are having a bit of a mare. There's a lot of non verified, subjective statements being ripped into by the defence.
  7. Like Darren Bent, the defence lawyer is 'feeding off scraps' but doing a good job at taking the prosecution evidence apart.
  8. I'm sure we won't be waiting too long for the full trial. I can't imagine it will take long for the prosecution to get a firm case together
  9. Key evidence that seems to destroy a lot of his argument. Bullets went through the top part of the door. He claims he was on his stumps.......He's had it.
  10. I don't mind Wolves. Hate Blues, Baggies as well (though not as much) but Wolves have never really phased me.
  11. Because I know he's called Daniel Ivery and I recognise him - (http://www.oftenpartisan.co.uk/archives/5270/often-partisan-player-of-the-year-chris-burke.html) Bit of a moron really. Writes for the mail in a very anti villa bitter blues fan kind of a way from time to time.
  12. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8289798.stm Just found this link. The fat fooker being interviewed (Daniel Ivery) is none other than Often Partisan, their painfully dull blogger
  13. 5 days he's had to put this affadavit together. Is that the best he could come up with? This is more unbelievable than a Crossroads story line. He will have to spend more on his defence than QPR to survive this one!
  14. I'm forever getting in trouble with my missus for taking random shots at the bathroom door when she gets up in the night for a jimmy riddle. At this rate we're gonna need a new bathroom door the amount of gun shot holes..
  15. Update from Carson Yeung on twitter: Carson Yeung‏@Carson_Yeung Just reading about the defence of #oscarpistorius . . . and you all think Steven Caldwell's bad #bcfc
  16. By the same token they can't be seen to be giving out any preferential treatment. Would be very surprised at anything under 15 years. Saying that, his defence might cite the fact that his case is being affected by 'trial by media'
  17. Cinema pick n mix. I can't get enough of the stuff. Full of sugar and sorts of horrible e numbers but can easily polish off a fivers worth during the trailers.
  18. First thing I said when I heard the news. The bloke always looked pumped up to the eyeballs on something. Not really a great reflection on athletics in general if the police stumble across steroids. Shouldn't they have been detected in testing during the Olympics/other race meetings? Secondly, this whole investigation has smacks of 'Keystone Cops'. Rumours and hear say are rife. Most people seem to have reached their conclusions via tabloid speculation. I wouldn't be surprised if his lawyers and the prosecution compromise on a more lenient sentence on the basis of the impossibility of getting a fair trial. Within hours of him being arrested some cop blabbed that this wasn't the first time they had attended his house to attend to a domestic incident. In the UK, this would have been deemed inadmissable evidence and held back from the jury!
  19. Sheffield Wednesday are in good form too. Let's not get too hopeful though. Blues are a mess, however there are some god awful teams in that league who will seem them OK (hopefully the same in our case too).
  20. Johnny Cochrane is dead. I believe the others are still with us though. OP might want to opt for Steven Gerrard's legal team though.
  21. Damn you. I got one back. Don't think I'll get the other.
  22. What do the good people of VT do for a living I ask?
  23. What are people more worried about: the concept of actually playing in the Championship, or the abuse you'll get off friends who support other teams? For me, it's the latter.
  24. Going to be very difficult to stay up now. I wasn't looking forward to the match yesterday which is very rare when Villa are playing (let alone when it's a team who haven't won away all season and four years ago would be picked off at will). Don't doubt there is effort, but there's also no confidence, no belief and a painful lack of quality. The likelihood is that we will go to Wigan on the last day needing some sort of result. In a fight between us and them - taking into account their survival experience - the smart money wouldn't be on us.
