Its funny how the Coalition Govt are blaming the current levels of unemployment on the International financial situation, yet before the last general Election, and just afetr it you would have thoughjt it was labour that caused the economic meltdown. So, are they admitting that actually it wasn't Labour now? Asd for the levels of unemployment rightly or wrongly there is a feeling that for the Tories unemployment is an acceptable price to pay when they are trying to reduce the deficit. There is no plan for growth just one to keep cutting. And with it goes jobs. Undoubtedly there would have been cuts under labour also but at least there was an idea of how to stimulate growth. it nay have worked, it may not have. but at least certain people wouldn't have just been cast aside whilst we keep hearing the tired old mantra of all being in this together.

He has been poor-average so far. i think he was only 'good' against Blackburn at best also. Bit of an over reaction to him. But, this is his first season as a first-teamer in a Prem team and there's no point in writing him off just yet. I think he only has a chance at the moment if he isn't expected to be the main man, which you get teh feeling he is. He should be in a midfield where he is the one protected by senior pros (Petrov, Jenas, erm...) and this is the problem. Ireland has a case to start in a midfield 4 with Delph given the freedom to roam. Then we'll see if he is what we have told he is. At the moment he is doing too much donkey work and looking a little lost. We need to use a formation - and players - that will get the best out of him. The present clown in charge can see he has got something in training but is employing a system ensuring we don't see any of it during games.

5 yrs after Ellis came in we were relegated. 3 season after we were trying to get in the CL we were worried about relegation up to the last few weeks. Relegation is a word that most, I'd guess, that has crossed our minds for this season. Not that we'll necessarily go down, but I think the majority think we'll be worried by it throughout the season. More money sopen by Lerner yes. More money brought in through sales also. A club bereft of ambition. Christ, its just the same as Ellis.

Let us not forget why we "harrassed" him. He came to us from the Small Heath board and called us merely "the men of the terraces". He turned EC winners into a relegated team in 5 years and ignored the best team we have had during the last century during his time at the club because he was not at the helm when they were at their peak. He took a huge amount of money out of the club in salary and when he sold to RL and he was also happy to name a stand after himself. Does he buy a ticket like we do to go to the games? HDE had a passion for money and the status that being our chairman gave him. His most recent claim was that he hand picked our new owner and MON. But enough of our former ruler. What makes it so sad for me now is that our bright future appears to have been allowed to become a bleak one so soon. Excellent post So excellent its almost pointless. Since MON walked out its been one error after another. What's the plan? Where's the ambition? At least under Ellis - for all his faults - we knew what he was trying to do. Randy? Not a clue and I'm beginning to think he calls it the same way.

At what point do we have to start questioning randy lerner and the board? The last managerial appointment, and farcical circus surrounding it, was an embarrassment. It wasn't that long ago the General was telling us not to say nasty things about Randy in case he read it and wanted to throw the towel in. Well it appears the General has already done so. how long before Randy does as well. is it time for him to go? I think he has time to save the situation and get rid of the manager and try and recruit a better man for the job. not the cheapest. We can all see what's happening at games but obviously he is doing his ostrich impression.

Don't ghet rid of him now and it wil be anoyther 20+m spent in january trying to revive our season. I'm not sure why they have made sucha meal out of it twice, the board, and to be fair I'm not sure I'd back them to get the right man a third time.

We need Heskey up top to link up better with bent. Although Gabby has started well both he and Bent play better as teh lone forward. So, I'd put Gabby back out wide. Not ideal and if Bent doesn't score in the next few games then its Heskey and Gabby. Jenas will add some solidity and with Petrov - our best outfield player by a country mile - also in there then we can afford to drop N Zog who hasn't got going and start with Bannan or Ireland. i think Petrov has veen reinvigourated because he isn't playing as a sitting midfielder but is trying to get forward - and he has looked bright and, surprisingly, a little pacey. Heskey back and I think Alex 'SACK HIM' McLeish may get throught he next two games with a with a team this is so obviously not fitting well at the moment.

you'd sack an undefeated manager who's been given no money. we'd look like a joke, no decent manager would touch us. I'd have sacked him the day after appointing him. As for our undefeated start, you saw positives against Wolves and newcaslte? We were lucky at Fulham and Everton should have murdered us. Give him at least half a season, if not a whole season, before saying that. Could be too late by then. Under McLeish we're like Labour under Ed Milliband. Get rid before its too late when you inevitably change in a last ditch attempt to salvage something.
