  1. Sorry Zatman. Site software a nightmare this morning. Third line from bottom is my response to your post.
  2. All of last season v all of this season so far? Interested to know which time period you think would be more appropriate??? Well we average pretty much the same points this season as we did all of last season. Yet in direct comparison to teams played there has been no real improvement to date. as I said yesterday which you conveniently ignored that we are 4 points up from last season and while this time last season we lost to Southampton and Wigan this season we have competed with Arsenal and Liverpool 2 teams in the title race
  3. I don't think anyone would feel that was 'bullshit.' He could turn out to be a very good manager and if he does then he will get my full support but and it's a big but, at the moment considering his overall record with us to date he has a long way to go to reach that point.
  4. To be fair, his graph (assuming it's the average points one) wasn't obscure or inaccurate. It made a very valid point and to simply dismiss it is being far more blinkered than he was. Ha, ha. 'Far more blinkered than he was?' The last graph he produced he admited himself that it wasn't accurate. Generally his graphs have been produced on the basis of present improvement using points and position. His debate on points has now been proven by another poster to be wrong. Not true, admited no such thing - clear progress on last season as shown below Not sure at all that was the one that I was referring to but I see after a few days sabbatical you still haven't answered any of the questions posed in my last post concerning our debate. No comment either on the poster's stat on points total which you have continually based your debate on. I therefore wait with baited breath on your next excuse for Lambert's record with us, an overall record I may add which you still refuse to acknowledge.
  5. I can tell you s26 that you won't be disappointed with the Moto G as pound for pound it is one of the best out there. Just remember there's no charger supplied with the phone but my better half has been using the charger from my Wildfire S.
  6. Your forgetting that Norwich don't have to sell, they'd prefer to keep an unhappy player than sell him on the cheap. That's a fair point TLR but the present manager of Norwich doesn't seem to rate him and why keep an unhappy player who isn't going to get regular game time anyway. It's only my opinion but I think both clubs will reach an accommodation for the player under the guise of an undisclosed fee which will save face for both clubs. Hoolahan who I wanted last season will surprise a few people and give us a little more guile from the middle of the park and I will be astounded if we don't get him.
  7. Purchased a Moto G for my better half as a Christmas present Limpid and for someone who didn't like touch screen phones she loves it. So have first hand experience of the Moto G and it would be an excellent way to run down my contract but selling my HTC One and my HTC Wildfire S will leave me spending another £120-£130 to get the Nexus 5 so it's probably a toss up between those two and a red HTC One which I can buy on Gumtree for under £300 less what I get for my own HTC One and Wildfire S.
  8. Tamuff_Villa posted a link to a comparison site a page or two back that will give you better prices for your phone. However, I've found (on closer inspection) that the high paying ones will insist the phone is in mint condition otherwise they'll heavily discount the price they're offering. So for your mint boxed phone, I'd go with one of them. For your scuffed HTC you're probably better off with Mazuma as I'm fairly sure as long as it's working and the screen is intact, Mazuma will honour their price. Also, CEX on the high street will offer you a price for used mobiles there and then if you pop in and show them the phone. Wouldn't take mine as there's a small crack in the bezel on my S3 so he said they could only offer non-working price (£50) so I didn't take it (and he wasn't trying to screw me, he even told me I should go for someone like Mazuma instead as I'd get a better price) Either way, you should be able to get some cash towards your new phone. ps yeah I'd expect the S5 to be £500 and upwards without a contract Thanks again Stevo for the advice. Yeah the screen is intact with just a few scratches and the phone is working perfectly. I'll probably go with Mazuma as I could wait several weeks to get it sold on Gumtree and for not much more. If I get a chance I'll post some pics tomorrow of the damage. I'm more than a little surprised though that less than a year into my two year contract how much the HTC One has actually dropped in street price. Definitely will be my first and last two year contract as it has proven to be an expensive mistake.
  9. Hoolahan will sign for us because he no longer wants to play for Norwich, no other bigger club wants him and the player wants to play for us. It's a done deal or it soon will be. Just relax.
  10. I don't think there's many who would be against that but if you think that's all anyone who criticises Lerner wants then you don't read posts very well. As an aside, by the way, I would absolutely be against this. It's always nice to have money spent on improving a squad, but I'd honestly hate to be Man City or Chelsea. Sounds weird, doesn't it? However, I really like the local things that the club still has. For example, I enjoy having kevan on here and reading about Jack Grealish's plights in the early days as a footballer. The fact that we promote players from within our own academy to play for the club. That we've not just had the soul of our club completely taken away. It's "bad enough" that we have a foreign owner, but I'd probably lose most of my interest in Villa if we became an oil club. Chelsea currently play 1 player that has come through their academy, and he was taken from West Ham as a youngster. No thanks. I found this to be most interesting. I understand the point you've made and why you've made it but you can still retain your identity and be successful. It would however be a balancing act between supporters and a new owner but even if that owner wanted to change the name of our club, the colour of our kit or rely mainly on investing in players outside of our academy if we began to achieve the same success as Man City or Chelsea I do not think there would be many supporters who would turn their back on the club on a point of principle.
  11. I would also love Ince at the club but where would he get a game at the moment in our current system? Is he the number ten we need? Not sure as he has been playing out wide. Is he the DM we need? Nope. So maybe Ince would be a luxury signing at the moment which the chairman doesn't want to afford. Doesn't stop us all wanting him at the club though due to being a good young player.
  12. Ha, ha. Typed in the correct spelling on my HTC One and didn't notice it changing it to Regis.
  13. Ok thanks Regis. Seems to be the one to go for. As Stevo has stated Mazuma offering £160.00 for my HTC One which is only £20-£40 down on what is being asked for on Gumtree for a scuffed model. I also have a mint HTC Wildfire S boxed and in full working order so I'll check what Mazuma is offering on that and then make my decision.
  14. Ok mate thanks for that. After a quick search there are rumors of a S5 being released in March-April time although price without contract will probably be extortionate? Will have a look at the N5 in the meantime and then decide if it's the one for me.
  15. Thanks for that Stevo. Pretty distraught at the moment but these things happen. Are you suggesting the N5 rather than the S4 or both? When I sell the HTC One can I transfer the sim into my new phone thereby continuing on the same contract or do you suggest as you've stated in your previous post to forget about contract and just go PAYG?
  16. Yeah Rev fair enough. Last week I was speaking to an ardent Man U fan and suggested the signing of Cabaye to him. He agreed that Cabaye should be a must signing for his team but as you suggest Rev maybe Moyes did inquire and was told he wanted to go elsewhere. I did mention a fee of 20m-23m so I got something right.
  17. Seconded. My fiancée in her wisdom put my mint condition HTC One into a drawer and thinking that the draw just wasn't closing properly then forced the drawer shut. Several hours later I asked my fiancée where my phone was and was duly informed. I opened the same drawer, lifted my phone and to my absolute horror noted that the bottom speaker casing had been badly chipped and on closer inspection the screen had been scratched in several places. Since I had chosen the black model under contract this has completely destroyed the look of my phone and now I just simply don't want to use it anymore. Out of desperation I then emailed HTC to see if the speaker grill could at least be replaced but the shites haven't bothered answering my email. Further investigation on the net has shown that there are companies selling replacement speaker grills for the HTC One but the advice is on various forums is that the speaker grill is glued into place and therefore nearly impossible to change without firstly affecting warranty and secondly doing further damage to your phone. After shoving my fiancée into a drawer I am now contemplating buying another phone. I did like the HTC One but may just put it up for sale on Gumtree as marked but working perfectly and see what I can get for it even though having to pay another year on contract. Now looking at the S4 or N5. Anyone come up with any special deals on either phone?
  18. Can't understand why Moyes didn't go in for Cabaye? Perfect replacement for Scholes. Maybe Mata has been earmarked for that role?
  19. I like very much. Another Daley in the making perhaps or potentially better. This is exactly the type of player needed in the first next season to bring some excitement back into Villa Park.
  20. Who single handedly kept us up, Ashley Young, John Carew ... all completely crap January acquisitions Ashley Young and John Carew were basically the exception to the rule as Lerner only took over the club in September (I think?) 2006 meaning we didn't have a proper transfer window to splash that initial cash (Carew was a swap deal for Baros anyway, wasn't he?). Darren Bent was instrumental in both keeping us up and dumping us in the financial pile of doo doo that have since transpired to be in. Are you honestly saying £18m and rising for Darren Bent is a good January acquisition and something to base future signings on? We also signed Bent having spent no money the previous summer. The serial moaners do seem to be those with the most warped expectations. January is famously difficult. Anyway, there's still a week to go. And Lambert, who is always coy about these things, has said he's still looking. Or is it the 30th already? In which case I should do my tax return 'Serial moaners' or just putting forward their opinion like you. I'd go with serial moaners. Fair enough putting forward an opinion, constantly reiterating it for no gain equals whingeing in my book And of course you have continually put forward an opinion which is deemed an opinion while those who consistently put forward their opinion which differs from yours is referred to as moaning even though backed with stats and performance level.

  22. I still think we'll get Hoolahan more out of hope than anything else.
  23. Good point LL but maybe if it's a low fee clubs will take the same sort of risk as we did with Downing?
  24. Oh come off it Morpheus, he has been poor for a while and he hasn't looked the same ever since he did his ankle in against Wigan under McLeish, he has lost that yard of pace and now he just looks bang average. Yes mate he has been poor for a while but just trying to show in my opinion why his form could have dropped so dramatically. You might be right though and it could be down to injury or just poor attitude which was the rumour here why Lambert got rid. I remember BOF stating when Bent went to Fulham that in his opinion Bent was a spent force and we wouldn't see the best of him again. Unfortunately whatever the reason to date that has proven to be correct.
  25. As Lambert has previously stated the only wage cap at the club is one of sensibility. If you also consider the wages that Benteke and Weimann are now earning plus maybe Delph then meeting a Championship player's wages, even considering the increase he would want shouldn't be outside parity with the others mentioned. However in saying that it would also depend on any fee involved and whether Lambert would want stipulated first option to buy at the end of the season. Would love to see Ince at the club though as it would show the same statement of intent when we signed Delph.
