  1. Yes that was a bad miss, terrible in fact but his confidence must be totally shot. Stripped of the captaincy here and shoved out on loan. New club doesn't really play a system either to get the best out of him and he isn't getting a run of games to rebuild his confidence. How many games did it take Benteke to score again coming back from injury and that's getting regular game time? Criticism is a little unfair all things considered but I can't see Fulham signing him when his loan ends. It's a difficult one for both our club and the player.
  2. To be fair that's doing a lot of pub teams a disservice. As far as the question posed by the thread goes it could be one of many but I'll go with Bennett.
  3. He "can play" out wide, but that isn't where his strongest position is. That's why it's more of a panic buy (unless they already know Rooney is leaving in the summer or something). Maybe I'm not getting what I'm trying to say across clearly enough. See these articles for what I mean; http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/29326/9126174/juan-mata-to-manchester-united-gary-neville-not-sure-he-fits-philosophy http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/jan/21/juan-mata-manchester-united-chelsea http://www.dailystar.co.uk/columnists/paul-merson/362253/Manchester-United-are-making-a-big-mistake-signing-Juan-Mata And also where he generally scores from in this; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25871279 Anyway... enough Man Utd! (Although we should definitely make a cheeky loan offer for Kagawa now - back on topic ) Thats actually quite interesting to read that, especially Gary Neville's viewpoint from the perspective that even with a new manager in place bringing new ideas in how he would want Man U to play, Neville is still thinking that Moyes will play the same way as they did under Fergie. I think in time when Moyes gets who he wants, Man U will set up differently and its maybe the reason why Moyes got rid of several of the Man U coaches. I agree though this should go into the Manchester thread.
  4. Could be very wrong foreveryyoung but it wouldn't surprise me under Lambert N'Zogbia will be sold in the summer for 2m-3m to get his wages off the books.
  5. What makes you think they'll "shove him out wide"? I don't. Morpheus stated; "you seemingly have the same type of knowledge to know exactly how Man U are going to play under Moyes. Mata can play out wide by the way but hell lets just forget that." We need to get off the Man Utd chat though I stated that in answering your previous question about Mata being a 'panic buy.' Mata can and has excelled playing out wide. He might be a Rooney replacement but rumours in the press are stating that Rooney may be signing a new deal. Either way Mata is an excellent signing and one that certainly isn't a panic buy which was your original point.
  6. Maybe due to the fact that Mata has excelled playing in a wide position before? Would you class Weimann or Gabby as wide players yet thats where they benefit our team the most at the moment.
  7. Interesting to see that you've asked me 'do you have some sort of in depth knowledge of available players given the right level of finance' when you seemingly have the same type of knowledge to know exactly how Man U are going to play under Moyes. Mata can play out wide by the way but hell lets just forget that.
  8. Man Utd have panic bought a player that (whilst world class) isn't the solution to their problems. Unless you're saying you want us to do just that? Complete rubbish as usual. Man U are rebuilding and consequently need players. Are you going to aim that accusation at every signing they make especially as you say, world class signings. The answer to your second question was already stated in my post (which i've highlighted) but anything to have a dig eh.
  9. Assuming of course that the manager will be given extra funding?
  10. I honestly believe that the constant rhetoric coming out of the club has brainwashed some into thinking that's it's now ok to have minimal expenditure even when threatened with relegation ( last January) and some of the high wage earners off the wage bill. As BJ10 has stated there is no assurance at all referring to the manager's recent comments that this lack of investment won't continue indefinitely under Lerner until he can claw back most of his investment and then sell the club?
  11. I'm fairly certain that's the position Wigan got his best form from? I'm sure he played his best on the right wing for Wigan. Maybe i'm wrong, but he's most effective running at defenders and cutting inside. Been saying this for quite some time now concerning N'Zogbia. You cannot expect to get the best out of any player until you actually give him a run of games in his best position. Lambert probably feels that for the wages N'Zogbia is on he can bring in two more players, like Tonev perhaps?
  12. Man U have just spent 37m on a player. While I do not expect us to spend on that level there have been one or two players available on loan which could have improved us further if the right level of finance had been made available.
  13. Alan Evan's son on 'The Voice' and he got through. Spitting image of his dad.
  14. I don't think he is as bad as Lambert's actions would lead us to believe.
  15. Maybe someone will come in for him in the same way as we did for Downing?
  16. Excellent chance to stop looking over our shoulders for a while. 3-1 home win to break the hoodo.
  17. With the City beeney yes but with the Villa beeney just beautiful.
  18. To be fair, his graph (assuming it's the average points one) wasn't obscure or inaccurate. It made a very valid point and to simply dismiss it is being far more blinkered than he was. Ha, ha. 'Far more blinkered than he was?' The last graph he produced he admited himself that it wasn't accurate. Generally his graphs have been produced on the basis of present improvement using points and position. His debate on points has now been proven by another poster to be wrong. I specified it being the one I was thinking of, which was average points. The difference is his was based on Lambert's tenure, not just the first half of this season. And if he's admitted when he posted it that it wasn't accurate then what's the problem? He's admitted he's wrong, so are you just point scoring? Based on Lambert's tenure eh? I have asked him on five occasions to produce a stat showing exactly that and he has refuse to do it. Secondly you stated 'to simply dismiss it is being far more blinkered than he was' without actually knowing what i was referring to so who is trying to point score here?

  20. So we aren't making progress ? You can take those stats whichever way you want. In 2 weeks we could be ahead again. Like DDID, and like last year, I won't judge the season until it's over. That is absolutely correct Stevo and what I have been banging on for some time now. Neither our league position or points total is a constant at the moment but there have been those who have been using those stats to try and show improvement.
  21. We should just let VillaCas answer that one EA. I'm sure there will be another obscure or inaccurate graph on the way, that is if he now reappears?
  22. I'm just wondering what a particular poster might think of that stat considering what he has been posting continually on site.
