It's my birthday on the day of the Spurs game.. Will Villa give me a nice gift? Not getting my hopes up.

If anything having nothing to play for will make Man City more dangerous.. We saw how they started to play when they thought the title was lost, when they play with no pressure and confidence they can annihilate anyone. I really don't envy QPR going into what could be a deciding game at the end of the season against a team that is near impossible to beat at home.

I think perhaps Lerner has realised that the club may be better off without him here for the last two games. Either that or he's been talking to those more knowledgeable.

Man City aren't going to turn off.. They have a manager that in the Summer will likely get another £120 million to spend. You don't want to give him a reason to replace you.. Man City aren't at a point yet where their players are that good they can't be replaced by someone better, while that is the case they will play their hearts out.

Personally I think Macron deliver different standards of quality depending on what league and the size of club you are. I mean look at the Napoli kit from this year against the shiny Leeds kit, the Napoli kit actually looks high quality and well made, Leeds one not so much but Napoli are a top Serie A side and Leeds are a mid-table Championship side.. Provided we stay in the Premiership I think we'll get a kit of Napoli quality.

Defending really shouldn't be a problem today.. With 7 defenders on the pitch we should be impossible to break down. If we lose today then we are not only shit but we have the worst defence in history..

Provided they have the money to fund transfers from time to time without us having to sell our best players then I'm up for it.. If they came in and straight up started shouting "sell to buy" then we'd still be stuck in this mess. Sure we'd have a better manager and a better club morale, but that only gets you so far in this league these days..

I'm sure we've all played against players in a kick about in a park that pass better than Villa do. In football passing is the second thing you ever learn after ball control, by the time you're 21 you should be pretty damn good at it.. Not if you're a Villa player it seems.

If we go down most of the people that have boycotted the club thus far will probably make it more permanent.. We'll lose so many fans from this. I'm not even going to call them glory hunters as to be honest a lot of the Villa fan base know of nothing else, they only know Villa as a top flight team.. I wouldn't blame them if they didn't want to be there as we struggle through the Championship, I'll be there like many on this site but I wouldn't blame anyone who didn't.

After reading that Lerner is backing McLeish after tonight I am more confident in my theory no matter how absurd it sounds. It is 100% an insane conspiracy theory, but I can't help but believe it in some way.. I said this in the reactions thread. I know I open myself up to a lot of ridicule from some by saying that, but right now it's one theory that makes more sense than others. If I made you laugh, you're welcome.

I'm saying it now it's an inside job. McLeish wasn't brought here to settle the wages, he was brought here to get us relegated in the least suspicious way possible. That way he'll be fired in the Summer get a nice bonus from that, we'll be relegated which as a result solves the wage issue because every player we have will be gone and Lerner will bring in some young manager who's never had any money to work with to rebuild. It's the only logical explanation for this. It's the only way I can explain to myself how we go in at half time after a pretty good/positive/"attacking" performance and then stop playing in the second half when the tactics for some reason change. He's not here to win games, I bet he was pissed when we beat Fulham unexpectedly and when Keane scored from range to beat Wolves.. He's not here to do anything but get us relegated, that's his job and he's doing it perfectly and in the least suspicious way. Maybe I'm just looking for other reasons, but he's the worst manager of all time about to relegate one of the most prestigious top flight teams in history and Lerner is happy.

No.. I'm taking this as a positive. The one game this season we are dominating and people are still looking for reasons to be depressed and discontent with it.. Well they can do that, but I'm taking this as a positive performance and one we can build on going forward.

What a game so far.. Anyone that says Villa have been average tonight are very very wrong. We have been playing well, if we had Bent or a goalscorer on the pitch that isn't still adjusting to the league we would be winning this by 2-3 goals.

Nice to see Lichaj showing he can bust some skulls if he wants.. That's his one fault he comes off as too nice at times, that last tackle was anything but friendly.

It's not the linesman.. Bolton have watched how Heskey and Weimann are slow to get back after an attack and are exploiting it. They will get caught out once or twice today though.

Anyone looking at the squad with 6 defenders on the pitch you'd think we were playing Barcelona not 19th place Bolton.
