  1. Personally the only way he'd getting the Man Utd job if if we win the league this season and Ferguson gets fired as a result of failing to win it in the last two attempts.
  2. I so hope it was done by some kid on work experience.. It's the kind of thing I'd have done for a laugh.
  3. They won't fire him before we've found a new manager as there is every chance they'll get a bumper compensation deal.. There is nothing to stop them sacking him if we don't come in for him, I'd feel awful if that happened.
  4. We have money for Transfers.. Lerner has always said he'll pay for top money for the right player. Ole will probably get £30 million to rebuild when he arrives and he's the ideal man to keep wages down.
  5. They have changed the title to that article three times in the last hour.. They posted that when news site twisted what OGS said at a press conference. Suddenly every website jumped on it and here we are now..
  6. I give Collymore credit for making himself sound more important than his is 100% of the time that takes some effort.. Too bad almost everything he says under the guise of being important is bollocks.
  7. We need confirmation of that translation and it's authenticity because that is a tweet supposedly of a Molde player stating on twitter that OSG has told the players that tomorrow is his last game. I am sure I read yesterday that the Molde chairman was hoping to talk to OGS today.. Perhaps OGS has told him the talks were more serious than he let on and that Lerner gave him the permission to say his farewells before signing on Monday. For all we know there are no other candidates and it was all a planned excuse crafted at that initial meeting..
  8. I think Randy will. If they have any decent researchers the club should already know by scouting local radio and the internet that he's a popular choice. I don't think the actions of a club affect the getting of a manager, if it did we wouldn't be seemingly looking at Martinez as his chairman was a word removed about it last year..
  9. I think that is the key part of the opening sentence. He says he won't take the job at this stage which is true he can't take a job until it is formally offered to him. It sounds to me like he's playing up the fact that he's unhappy, but he has to be the model professional until he knows exactly what Villa are planning. If he says right now "If Villa come for me Monday I'll be leaving after all this" and Villa never come, he'll probably be out of a job anyway so he needs to play this down as much as possible for the sake of his current job more than anything.
  10. Not at all. He didn't use the money afforded to him he used nothing but tactics and changing the playing style. He took Molde from a hoofball playing side to playing like Man Utd and it worked wonders.
  11. I'd take OGS or AVB.. Both excite me, I'd say OGS is a more exciting prospect though.
  12. This guy is awesome.. I have actually never heard someone external to the club call us a big club and actually sound like they mean it. I like that he has turned down Champions League calibre sides to talk to us that is incredible.
  13. He won the Reserve League with Manchester United. He won the Norwegian League with Molde on his first attempt, their first title win in their 100 year history. He plays an attacking 4-3-3 formation with an ethos built around Manchester United style possession football. He's a much better proposition than most..
  14. Makoun, Ireland, Carruthers.. Basically anyone that can pass a ball properly will be delighted at this result. Anyone that can't pass a ball or has no remarkable talents to speak of may be dreading this.
  15. Molde were never guaranteed to win the league just like they have never been guaranteed to win it in the last 100 years.. They have come second several times in their history, but never first. OGS arrives and they do it.. Not because other teams were shit but because he changed their playing style and it worked.
  16. That's a nice jet.. I want one. On the topic of OGS I really hope this happens. I know it is looking so likely but we are still Villa when do things ever go completely to plan.. I really hope it happens though.
  17. Possibly taking a gamble on his team not having much of a chance and not wanting to pass up a chance to get his managerial teeth into a Premiership side.
  18. We need someone like Comolli to buy in players like Newcastle and Tottenham have been doing.. Cheap players that don't command massive wages but are absolute World beaters.
  19. How do they find out he had a phone call with Faulkner without tapping his phone? Seriously unless someone was in Florida with a pair of binoculars aimed at the screen of his phone they would have no idea who he was phoning if he was phoning anyone at all.. The same goes the other way round unless the person that leaked this story was in his office at the time and saw the caller ID then there is no way in my mind that this could be known news..
  20. I don’t like McLeish, I don’t like the way he plays football, but this is just not the case IMO. If McLeish had inherited a great footballer I just don’t believe he would just get rid of him because he was that. He got rid of Makoun because Makoun just didn’t look up to the premiership. Damn McLeish for everything, but lets not turn Makoun into the greatest footballer of all time. Makoun plays grounded football he's not a hoofer and when he has to hoof he plays intricate lofted passes that need an equal minded player on the other end (Ireland, Bent, N'zogbia).. In a McLeish side where passing is treated like the plague and hoof is the tactic of the day he was never going to fit in.. Hopefully with a manager like Martinez or Lambert he will fit in a whole lot more.
  21. The odds are swayed by bets. Talksport mentioned him earlier today and instantly people starting betting. They only mentioned him to bait Villa fans into phoning in and it worked.. We are still looking into Lambert and Martinez and given that one or the other will probably accept that will be the end of it.
  22. I think we have everything in place to do all we can to attract him here if he's willing to say yes. We have one of the best training facilities in Europe and one of the most promising academies in English football, you couple that with a chairman that could easily match the £30 million budget he's "apparently" getting at Norwich and stick him on £2 million a year, I just don't see him turning that down.
  23. Eh.. It has put a dampener on it but he hasn't been approached yet. I will admire his resolve if we offer him the same contract we offered McLeish and he says no.
  24. Norwich are a club that probably only have a £500k to £1 million transfer budget which is why 90% of his transfers have been loans.. To say why didn't he buy one £1 million gem is the same reason no one asks why McLeish bought N'Zogbia instead of Messi.. Spending all or more of your transfer budget on one player no matter how epic they may be is a massive risk, Lambert played a more astute game and it got him from League 1 to Mid-Table Prem finish in 3 seasons.
  25. Looking at his transfers isn't a fair thing to do.. Last season he was in the Championship the season before that League 1.. You try getting in quality players from England and the rest of Europe with little to no budget and the obstacle of being in a league professionals don't want to play in.
