  1. Easier fixtures? who are you kidding, we have played most of the lower teams and been outplayed, why do you honestly believe we will improve? is it that the players will be 3 months older, they will suddenly start knowing how to pass and move, they will gain confidence from the christmas period. I thought we may get better but have had not 1 reason to believe this, we need better players. Yes we spent £20 million on 7 players, so what, we could have got 30 players from the conference for this, the fact remains that we need players who will improve the team not just numbers. Why are we running at a loss, this I can not understand, honestly, a year ago then yes i could see why but not now, where is the money going that makes us have less to spend than the baggies and wigan. We have a small young squad now that must be on reasonable wages with only 2 or 3 players on big money. we have one of the best incomes in europe. why are we losing money, i just dont honestly get it, can someone who knows explain.
  2. The biggest difference in players between the divisions is the skill and speed of thought that they have, whilst skill can be improved the football brain will not be. this is why top players are top players. they can trap a ball and move into space before the opposition player can react. they can see another players run and prepare to recieve the ball and lay it off to find the run in the blink of an eye. our players can not do this. Our players have to trap the ball then look for a pass giving the opposition players time to block off the runs. Darren Bent looks inefective in our team, is this his fault? he makes the runs and finds space constantly but the passes to him are delayed or never reach him making him look poor or as if he is not bothered. He does not turn into a bad player overnight and he has the england team selection as motivation. We have to get rid of our average players and replace with quality if we want to improve.
  3. trouble is we all mistakenly believe the hype that we are a young side and will improve, lets be realistic, who in this team of average players will get better, they can not even make a 5 yard pass under pressure, no player runs at the opposition and creates mistakes, no players are moving to find space, they are championship average players at best, we will not get better until we buy better players, We are now having the result of the total miss management come to fruition, the future is bleak. we will be relegated and deservedly so.
  4. What total crap, £20 million in todays market is 1 good player, we needed at least 5. we have one of the best incomes in the league yet act like a championship team with our expenditure. we have the youngest team in the prem and it is this reason why we are struggling. Work out how many players have gone and for how much, now ask yourself if a £20 million spend is good enough. I have been a fan of Learner since he took over but now see that he is the problem, he has to spend money to accumulate money, 32000 fans when it should be 43000, how much are we losing every home game? WE are very average and very very boring, why should people who work hard and have to manage the budgets spend money to watch this tripe. We pay to see players do things with a ball that we could not do and to be excited for 90 mins to escape our problems and to forget our lives for 90 mins. to be honest watching the villa nowadays is so boring i am thinking about anything but football during the game, I could probably see more skill and endeavor on a park pitch on a sunday which is free to watch. Am I pissed off - you bet.
  5. By todays standards £20 million is nothing, we have the smallest squad for years and also the youngest, i am sorry but the funds available should have been tripled to not spend this much is playing with fire and totally irresponsible, we have got rid of so many players on high wages that i can not believe the wages are now too high. How is it so many other smaller teams in the prem have better squads and can manage the budgets with less income. someone somewhere is lying. I can not believe PL would not have got more experienced and better players if the funds were there. To keep blaming MON for our finances is a smoke screen, we have one of europes best incomes and yet the budget of the baggies, something is just not right. we need a star player to bring the crowds in by creating a bit of excitement, someone who can change a game. To be honest most the fans in the prem want us to go down as they hate to watch us, to be fair they have a point, we really are boring. It comes to something when stoke and wigan have more exciting teams to watch. If this continues we will loose more than the £20 million from lost tv revenue as they wont want to show our games, and as for what we will loose if we are relegated is beggars belief in the way we are controlling the finances, yes randy got bitten and is wary to try again, if this is the case then he should get the hell out and let someone else who actually has a pair have a go.
  6. Lambert can not be blamed for the inability of the players, too many passes went astray, there is no movement of players to try and show themselves for a pass. too many players do not want to take responsibility and hold on to the ball. These problems are all about confidence issues, perhaps it is because the players are so young, they had a lot of pressure on them as this was a must win game, lets hope that against the big 3 when we are not expected to do anything they can actually play with freedom. This is going to be one hell of a season and i fully expect us to be competing in the relegation zone, one thing for sure is it will get worse before it gets better.
  7. We may have spent 20 million but we have also got rid of a few players which kind of reduces the spend, why should we not be optimistic, for 3 years we have been fed crap football, no hope and no team spirit, we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, may take a while to reach it, we may not even get there but we sure as hell see it, lets just enjoy the journey.
  8. The new boys all did well yesterday integrating well with the rest of the team, more importantly the way we played yesterday and the draw will only boost the confidence up a notch, you could see how PL has been working with them, the passing and movement is getting better and we actually look like we could score. I for 1 am very pleased with the progress shown and although we will take a step back at some point the future looks better.
  9. I was watching Ireland very closely albeit against Tranmere, he constantly was looking for the pass but other players movement was just not there to help him, we constantly had to pass back from advanced positions ending up with the ball at the half way line and starting again. The problem is the lack of movement by the players around him, PL will get this right as the second half of the game showed, when this improved and our players become less static Steven Ireland shone.
  10. I for one am fully expecting us to draw or loose today, the new signings will have to bed in before we improve, my only concern is the fixtures we have coming up against the top teams, hopefully we may get a couple of results but if we don't the backlash and confidence drop may be too much to recover from. this will require a lot of support from the crowd to get the players heads up again, judging from the negativity on here and at the ground it may not come. I think it may get worse before it gets better.
  11. Did you go to the everton game? You think those that were annoyed and frustrated won't be know because we've signed 3 lower league players and a kid from Belgium? I think you're in for a surprise at the final whistle against Swansea if we've lost. An attitude like this wont help, yes the Everton game was poor, PL is not blind, he has seen the position we are in and has taken steps to improve it, it may take 10 games to see the results start paying dividends, alot longer if the crowd start having a go at the club and players, football is all about confidence, this breeds results, even star players like Rooney live on confidence. We want our players to try different things and do the unexpected, Nzogbia is capable of this and with confidence will improve, it takes time and as fans we should back the players instead of getting on their backs.
  12. Good riddance, would have preferred him to have been sold though.
  13. How much is row z zamora worth, compare the 2 and we probably have a bargain, How much is Carrol and Torez worth, both massive buys who have failed to live up to the price tag, 7 million is Peanuts for a striker, well done PL.
  14. I am very happy with RL, yes he has made mistakes, yes he has been naive and put his trust in a manager, hopefully he has learned from these errors of the past and has now got people in place to better the club. Chelsea have got a megga rich owner, but how long till he gets fed up with his play thing and starts to claw back the money, all you can ask of an owner is that he improves the club, on the playing side this has not happened but as is plain to see he is working on this side, off the field you have to be blind and stupid to not see what work he has done, Look at Everton, yes they have a good team but also they are skint, they also do not spend megga money on players but sell at a profit and buy players who improve in value and skill. when you look at our club we are on the right track and have a plan. the future is bright as long as we stick with the manager and team and support them as true fans should.
  15. Can not believe the negative comments on here, PL knows what he requires and he knows a good player when he sees one, give him a chance, lets see at christmas where we are and then be negative if required. I will be shouting my heart out for the players to do well, Look at QPR and what they have spent, they are still shit. times are changing in football, money is getting more of an issue, I am glad that we are taking the route we are rather than going the QPR West Ham and Sunderland methods where they are doing what we did years ago, They need Champions League entry to Succeed, as we found out this is harder than it looks and I see 2 out of the 3 being financially in trouble in 2 years. We on the other hand if RL and PL get it right will be challenging with a sustainable club.
  16. We will and we probably won't have to pay to do so as you've effectively dismissed them by giving their jobs to the boys from Small Heath. You will more than likely end up paying Culverhouse and Karsa off than us paying for you to release them. Chalk up another **** up to McNally. And I honestly believe you won't get a penny and don't deserve to. We did nothing wrong, we made an official approach and you seemingly broke Lambert's contract. I don't think you will get a penny from us, those talks McNally said were ongoing don't seem to have gone anywhere do they? He isn't a messiah, he is just a good football manager with ambition. He will if he is as successful with us as he was with you no doubt move on some day. If and when that happens I hope that we aren't as bitter about it oh and I hope those that run our club do a slightly better job on our clubs behalf Oh and perhaps if it does happen we can come and take Hughton off you if he does well. Cully and Karsa still have their original jobs and duties, that was made very clear at the recent press conference. Lol Jobshare hits the premier league, can see a few ruffled Canary feathers if this is the case, If you truly believe this to be the case then you should move to fantasy island, its words to try and up the ante. What would have happened if he said they were to move down in the pecking order to make room for the new team and they were really now obsolete, think about it, if he wants comp then this was the only thing he could say, watch this space, they will walk out or resign in the next 3 weeks claiming constructive dismissal.
  17. Thing that gets me that small heath are probably the same size or just slightly bigger than Norwich, did they complain like you are to loosing their manager to you even though he was there only a year, yes you paid comp but he was under contract, it should be the Blue noses who feel cheated by a manager leaving so soon, at least you got 3 years and bettered the club before loosing the manager.
  18. One thing you can say about RL is that if comp is deserved he will pay it as he has done on a number of occasions, can not understand though why you feel you have been shafted though, he left you in a far better position than when he came in, he took you as far as he could with the finances and wanted to move on and better himself, if he does the same to us then we shall thank him knowing there will only be a few teams he could move on to to better himself, this is the way of life, always has been and always will be, same happens with players, you just have to move on and go with the flow, you have now got a good manager to replace him, maybe he can gradually take you to the next step, but first you will need a bigger ground etc etc.
  19. Dont think we will have too long to see players come in as he said he has already spoken about who he wants and will leave it to the powers that be to get them in, also said he was not sure on who will stay out of the current squad as he wanted to see who could adapt to his way of playing and who couldn't, think this will go on right up to the end of the transfer window, good part is he has already earmarked certain players so he has been thinking about this for a while,
  20. to actually try and score more than 1 goal in a game and not try to defend 1 goal if we score it, to actually give a team a drubbing - i dont care who but to win by 3 goals or more just once. to be dangerous at set plays again. to be able to have pride in the team and win or loose know they have given their all.
  21. Really don't understand your thinking on your second paragraph at all. Very bizarre. Reckon his job was to use all the squad and get rid of the over paid players we had or utilise them where possible, get the kids some experience of playing and above all keep us in the prem, think he was to do this for 2 years so three more players could be gone so lowering the wages, he showed it was a dangerous idea and only just made it forcing Randy to act quicker than he wanted too, May be I am totally wrong and talking out my ass, it is just something someone associated with the club told me ages ago and also made alot of sense, apparently he was never here for the long term but the hatred towards him and Randy as well as the relegation fight forced the Hand Kmac would have been able to reduce the wage bill, get rid of the deadwood and at the same time blood the youngsters, that in my opinion would have been a temporary measure. I firmly believe that Randy viewed Mcleish as a long term project but got it horribly wrong.... Could be right but K Mac did not deserve the shit that was to come with the job required where as AM had alot bigger shoulders. could be if he managed it he would have been given the funds and a better contract, in a way I am glad it went as bad as it did as we now have realistic expectations, a better wage structure and a better manager.
  22. Yes as i said he was shit and totally uninspiring, he should go back to where he belongs in the championship with the Blues. but remember unless we have the shit times we wont recognise the good times, Great day for the Villa.
  23. Really don't understand your thinking on your second paragraph at all. Very bizarre. I could never thank AM for today.... Apart from making me dread every single weekend of the shite football on offer and to be fair, never letting me down. He was not just shite, but consistently shite. Also thanks for saving us some cash?, but thanks for also lowering our revenue from reduced attendances last season... oh an heres that £2 million compo for your "troubles" I bet in line with the ASDA adverts, AM slapped his arse twice and skipped all the way home to shitsville. I do not think Randy realised just how shit he was, done a job though and hopefully now we can forget all about him and look forward. As for AM this has probably put his career back as he now has no credability whatsoever so he lost as much as we did
  24. Really don't understand your thinking on your second paragraph at all. Very bizarre.
