I hope we sign McKennie. He could have the same sort of impact on us that Kante had on Leicester (not winning the league but massively improving our team). He would be my first choice out of all the links so far. Pleaseeeeeeee

Been linked to Dean Henderson in the Brum Fail so almost certainly rubbish but I would love it if we signed him. Even if it was just for a season loan. He is class.

The owners are really investing in the right areas in order to produce a sustainable model that will, hopefully lead to consistency in performance. I love the fact that we are being properly run again. Exciting times

Did you mean neither? If so, I totally agree. Our goal keepers have been rubbish for years. Hopefully Tom will come back as good as ever and solve the problem.

I am not saying that Nyland is the answer in fact I am sure he is not. I am also sure that Steer is not the answer. Not sure how you can be so blasé about the league cup. It has played a major part in our history and was also the last proper trophy that we won. I know because I was there. I suspect you were not.

Do you disagree? There’s nothing wrong with Nylands shot stopping. He is very athletic. He has all the ability he needs. His problems are mental. Stick Jeds brain in Nylands head and you would have a very good gk

I like Jed but he is nowhere close to a Premier League keeper. People like him because he doesn’t make big mistakes but he lets in goals that Nyland would save with ease. He needs to move on for the sake of his career. We either need to go and spend some cash on a good gk if we think Heaton is done or get a short term fix until Tom is back. Someone yesterday suggested Foster on a short term deal. He would be great.

Scott Sinclair was at his peak, had nearly 100 PL appearances behind him and only managed that scoring season once. Edouard has consistently scored goals, at a very young age including at u21 and in Europe. Don’t look at the league (which I admit is pretty poor), look at the player. He has all the attributes required to be a top player. He will always be a handful for defences and he will score goals. He could easily be a £100m player in a year or two. It is a lot of money but you are paying for raw ability and potential.

You could be right. Will come down to the competition. If nobody else is willing to take a punt at the moment then he may be cheaper than you think. It is so hard to judge in the current market.

I think Man U have been subsidising his wages. Sheff U cannot afford to pay a higher percentage. I think he would be available if we took a big hit on his salary

Would people take Dean Henderson on loan for the season? He is a top keeper and it would give Tom time to prove his fitness. We could even loan Tom out to another club to get him back in the grove and ready for the following season.

I don’t read it like that. His first choice is RBL. They are in the last 4 of the CL and it would mean he can remain in the country and league that are most familiar to him. It’s not surprising that his first choice is them. It does not necessarily mean that he is not excited about potentially playing for villa in the PL, just not as excited, yet. If he comes I’m sure he will be both committed and excited. Let’s hope it happens.

I think he’s good enough to be our third choice when we only play one up top. He’s not amazing but he is not going to be earning much and I’m sure he will get better.
