I think the total opposite. He might have come here because of Gerrard but I dont think he liked where and how he was playing him. A new manager might actually get the best out of him. I think we'll see a new man shortly.

Poch would be my first choice. Brendan Rogers second. Assuming people are being serious, if we give it to Dyche then we may as well give up and shut the club down.

Leicester about to drop us into the relegation zone seals Gerrard's fate, if it wasnt by all the other reasons already.

Just a reminder that atm the only teams we're above are Forest who are a glorified Championship side, a Leicester team are in complete disarray and Wolves who have no manager. So essentially we're the worst "proper" team in the league. A season where we were meant to be pushing for a European place and we're wading just clear of relegation. And we have absolutely zero excuse for this predicament.

He will absolutely be gone in the next 24 hours. You dont give him Brentford because that's almost like saying "win that and you survive for now". Even a caretaker manager gives us a better chance and then we have 6 days to appoint Poch or whoever.

I dont see much point in giving him the Fulham game because say we get a result, then have a shocker against Brentford, then what? He's either the right man to take us forward or he's not. Most would say he isnt so if that's case then sack him now. He's had a year and we're no better. I really wanted this to work but everyone has lost faith it seems. That said, some of the players have been a disgrace this season and need to have a look at themselves. I cant think of anyone who comes out of this season so far with much credit. A new man coming in has got a lot to do to get some of these guys to produce some form.

Perfect situation for most Villa fans tonight. If Villa win then they can slag off Gerrard for not playing Coutinho and Buendia together before. If Villa lose then they can slag off Gerrard for not being able to get Coutinho and Buendia to play together. So whatever happens, they can lay into Gerrard. It's like a wet dream for them!

You're right, we werent bad yesterday and should have won. But everyone hates Gerrard and any game we dont win gives everyone a chance to do what they love most with is froth at the mouth and complain. Just as they will with the next manager and the one after that.

Oh its not the players fault he misses every one on one that falls his way? Who's fault is it then? What he did two years ago is irrelevant. Plus he scored 14 PL goals, not 16. Nowhere did I mention Coutinho or Buendia in that post. They are both very good players.

Bailey and Watkins are shit. Have YOU only supported us a year? Those two definitely arent up to scratch along with a few others.

Watkins was getting in good positions. Ings was anonymous when he came on. Bring on Archer for who? We had two strikers on the pitch already. What "have a dozen" things could he have done? Don't use generalities like that and actually say something useful, seeing as you're clearly such an experienced tactician.

I still keep seeing posts like "with the players we have". What players are these? Our forward line is one of the worst in the league. Watkins can't finish, Ings is anonymous every game. Bailey has been shite, as has Ramsey. McGinn hasnt had a good game in years. We have some decent players but it seems Villa fans are overrating this squad to the extreme. We should be doing better yes but people need to take a moment and look at who we have actually got. I know everyone is going to blame Gerrard of course but this isnt as good a team as people think it is at all, especially with the injuries right now.
