    Unai Emery

Just look at the managers of the last 10 or so years we've had, then look at Emery's CV. I mean ffs.
  2. The fact that the BBC are reporting that we're interested in Amorim likely means that a deal is close. There's never smoke without fire with the BBC.
  3. He's been genuinely superb when he played. The way he shut off the Brentford player in the second to let the ball go out of play was experience personified. Just rinsed him like garbage.
  4. I love the way he celebrates scoring.
  5. I didnt realise Kristoffer Ajer was such a huge Tyrone Mings fan, trying to get his shirt mid match. Hopefully Mings signed it and gave it to him in the tunnel.
  6. Wasnt terrible today but he just isnt good enough and should be sold in January. I dont even want him as a squad player.
  7. Playing Bailey on the left means he doesnt have to cut inside the make decisions, often the wrong ones. If he just bombs down the wing and puts crosses in like today then he will be invaluable. Very few full backs will be able to touch him when he turns on the afterburners. Football is such a simple game sometimes and getting players to do what they're good at is as simple as it gets.
  8. He has been a flop and he does have it all to prove? Having a good game is someway towards proving himself which I said he had to do.
  9. We've got our club back!! Proud of the team today. Brilliant all over the park. Oh and **** off Gerrard.
  10. The real Leon Bailey we're seeing today. Everything coming off for him.
  11. I hate this word removed so much.
  12. I know this sounds greedy but I would love a 4th to completely kill the game off.
  13. This Douglas Luiz try and score direct from a corner trick is ridiculous. How does he do it so accurately?
  14. This is rousing stuff isnt it? So proud of the team so far.
  15. Ultimately, Buendia has flattered to deceive. I know most people love him but you can count the great games he's had on one hand and have fingers left over. He's had some nice cameos off the bench but has been generally shite when he's started. He's got it all to prove. Right now he's an expensive flop.
  16. If it was the summer and he had a full window then Amorim would be a very exciting choice with huge upside. However coming in now, 2 1/2 months away from a window with no time to get his philosophy across makes me nervous. All appointments are a gamble but you have to reduce the odds as much as you can. I think he probably has the best CV of managers we can get (based on the no doubt mostly bullshit speculation of who isnt interested) but if we didnt start well under him then it could be rabbit in the headlights. But that's probably the case for anyone who comes in. The more I think about it, the more I realise how tricky this appointment is.
  17. To the first point, what do you think? Of course no. Are we expecting to qualify for Europe? No but we have to see genuine improvement in performances and results and at least see a vision for what we're trying to achieve. But in modern football, patience doesnt exist. If a manager doesnt get the fans onside in a few months then good luck! As for the second point, its really annoying that Arteta has become the poster boy for good young managers. It's like when Leicester won the league. Every club started thinking that anything is possible. It isnt. Arteta was an anomaly, not a blueprint. As was Leicester and look at them now.
  18. We've played 11 games for christ sake. We have all of the bottom half teams to play once, some twice. Utter rubbish. Oh I see so when we started the 20-21 season with 4 wins out of 4, we were title contenders were we? Or even Champions League contenders? Nonsense.
  19. We're not in relegation battle ffs. This season has gone as badly as it could possibly have gone and yet we're still 5 points off 10th. Any remotely competent manager will at the very least get us to about 10th and at worst, comfortably lower midtable. We've been total shit and that's why the manager has been sacked but let's not talk nonsense like needing someone to save us from relegation. We're like Newcastle last season, woeful mismanagement has put us here, not the squad.
  20. For anyone interested, Wesley has zero goals and one assist in 10 games in the Spanish second division this season. Absolutely cooked, sadly.
  21. I agree but McGinn is just shit. No clean slate is changing that.
