  1. I can't see Ince going to Lplop yet, maybe in 3/4 years time. For his development, he needs to get regular 1st team football, he will get that at VP.He is available for about £3/4m in Jan, and apparently about £50k per week. Now if you give him a 5 year contract thats an overall outlay of £15m.Would that be a gamble or not?....not in my eyes tbh.
  2. How about buying a quick player to play wide, who has brains........Ince maybe?
  3. Pilkington?.....Christ, no.Limited ability, no pace, 26?. I'd rather buy nobody, or spend £6/7m on 2/3 players.No more £2/3m players please.
  4. In my view dodgy, Baker is too much of the focus of attention. He is, for a CH still very young, and i think he will develop into a good solid CH, say alongside Okores, but he needs a steady , fast LB alongside him, and a better defensive midfielder than Westwood in front of him. Our major problems are up front.Devoid of confidence/ability/effort, we are in a desperate position of having only one player in the team at any one time who looks like scoring.Today Albrighton, Tonev, Weimann, Westwood, Delph, and then Bowery, never, ever looked like scoring, against a team like Stoke. Man Citeehh, can't defend, but they can score.
  5. The only one who looks like scoring in the squad atm.
  6. He cost £2.5m, hes 22/23 in his 1st season, i'm not going to get too disappointed if he fails. What i am disappointed in , is the fact that we expect/want/hope this signing to make a difference. PL has made too many signings for the future, he needs to insist on backing now.
  7. I can't see wages being a problem now. We need to step up now, no more £2/3 m might be's, we need 2/3 £5/6/7m players to come in now.We are not Wigan, who need to buy to sell, we need to be where our main competitors, Everton, Spuds and Noooocastle are.
  8. Baker and Clark as a partnership struggle, the whole back 4 without Vlaar is too inexperienced imho.
  9. He was'nt that good last season, just talked up a lot. As someone said earlier, what are his abilities?...hes an ok passer at best, hes not physical or quick, hes not energetic, and does'nt mark his man.Hes a sub at best.
  10. Incredibly poor again today, at least he tried to be more positive the 2nd half, but poor technique. For me replace Westwood wit a good midfielder and we are half way there. No energy, no pace, no ambition, out of his depth unfortunately.
  11. Yes, een poor this year.Saw enough in his game though that suggests to me hecould be a very good player.
  12. Bennett played well against good opposition though, which seems to indicate to me its a concentration issue. He will be a good LB, i hope its with us.
  13. My point is Con, Valencia did'nt beat Bennett last season, one on one, as easily as he beat Luna today.Maybe , just maybe, we should have cut Bennett a bit more slack.
  14. He got beat every time by whoever was attacking him, and gave the ball away, and failed to get into position for their 3rd, so how was it Bakers ault over Lunas? Gabby was shit again yet again today.
  15. Luna was'nt at fault for the 3rd goal?.....got caught half asleep. Baker and Clark would'nt be in the 1st team bar for injuries/suspensions, so not going to judge either atm tbh.Clark had a good game today though i thought.
  16. Bennett played well against Valencia in both games last year, Luna was absolutely woeful today.Bennett would have been slaughtered.
  17. £8m for a 30 year old, probably on £80+ K per week. No thanks rather buy Ince and Ings, up and coming, who will become better players.
  18. One key pass and hes quality? I went to the game, and i thought he was too negative.Nobody made a key pass because we did'nt score, it is Westwoods job to create, Delph and KEA are there for the running and the harrassing, Westwood to take advantage of their work, you can have as many charts as you like, i went to the game and have seen enough good players down VP to know that Westwood is not that good, and not positive enough. One thing that the chart did'nt show you was the pace of the passing, and the positioning of the no 4, always made himself available, and don't forget, Sland were quite happy to get a point, hence the lack of positivity.Lets see the same chart when we play Ure, with Carrick.
  19. I accept 10th or 13th HH, but lets be a bit more positive against bottom of the league, thats all i ask.
  20. Agree with Risso, does'nt make sense to me buying another centre foward when you have 2 along with CB. He might be a good player, but i'd rather buy at least one good midfielder, and at least one other foward attacking player a la Remy.
  21. Bloody hell myko, he goes from hero to a #### in 4 months? And they call us Villa fans fickle.
  22. He a young lad who, as Tuco said needs strengthen up and reain confidence. He is quick, has good feet, good crossing, i have every confidence that he will be a very good LB
  23. Somebody made the point that the injury he received against Norwich is a 6-8 week injury, and that it restricts his jumping ability.I think hes still injured, we will struggle in the next 2 games, drop him, and get him fit for Christmas imho.
  24. Well there was the time in the 1st half when Fletcher was running at him, he backed off, backed off, backed off , until Fletcher got into the penalty area, it rebounded a bit, the Sland player scored but was given offside, but only just.A good defendr would have realised that Fletcher has no pace, and confrontedhim well before he got into the penalty area.I don't rate Clark at all, he was'nt bad today, but Sland are'nt very good, we'll see how he gets on in the next 2 games. Have to say though that if Okores remained fit, then he would'nt have been in the side anyway.
  25. Whos the striker on the pitch who makes Heskey look prolific Ash?
