Since I didn't want the football betting thread I started in "Other Football" to turn into a clone of Mister_Master's Portuguese league thread (i.e. a logn string of posts by me), I figured I'd move these posts to my blog here.
I do post these picks on Google+, also.
The picks in the linked thread went 7-12, +3.67 units (+2.03% of risk)
Being that I'm from North America, I generally use North American notation, most notably in the form of moneyline pricing. Conversion of positive moneyl
I've seen some really bad things happen at Villa, in my time as a fan. Losses in league cups to lower league teams (Scunthorpe, Sheffield United) but I have never felt so deflated and depressed as I do at this moment.
Don't get me wrong, Bradford deserve their massive achievement 100% and I wish them all the best for the final.
But whilst this is their finest hour, this is also my clubs darkest hour and I am not sure we can pull this around in time to save our premiership status.
It is
This year The Premier League have outdone themselves and managed to sell the TV rights to next seasons Premier League games for a staggering amount of money, an amount which will cost 3 unfortunate teams around 60 million pounds this summer when they suffer relegation to The Championship. Fans saying they cannot wait for the 'bubble to burst in football' I can't agree with you more - however it is not happening this summer with the fee's and ludicrous amounts of money only increasing in 2013.
After Tuesday night's impressive and perhaps slightly unexpected League Cup romp in Norwich, Villa rather annoyingly dropped another place in the league owing to one of the teams below us beating one of the teams below us. That's twice this weekend that has happened *grrr*. I think most can agree that we are playing better than results or league position would suggest. Indeed our trouncing of one of the form sides in the league in their own back yard would point at that fact. Yes they were ful
from what I read though, 777 has already loaned Everton money (over $200m) to stay afloat which then I think makes things more complicated. (though 777 are not the only company to loan Everton money -- MSP did and if there's a default in the payment, they take over a majority of the club (this is what I've seen banded about).
When I first mentioned shot save percentage on a previous page I did preface it by saying it was not a complete analysis.
Anyway, this discussion kicked off with the claim that “Onana is the worst keeper in the league and it’s not even close”.
I’m not making the claim he’s the best in the league, just that he’s actually a pretty good player who is being dragged down by a fairly poor United defence.
Cmon, Alonso is clearly there or thereabouts in that top 5. For many of the same reasons that Unai is because of his achievements with Villa actually. It's Klopp in that top 5 that I would be having the question mark over.

One point above the relegation zone, 3 games to play.
As somebody previously mentioned, we faced them 6 times in the Championship. Of course we only managed to take one point off them in the first year, but we took 6 points off them the following year under Bruce (including the aforementioned 4-0 at Portman Road) and our promotion year we won 2-1 at Villa Park, drew 1-1 away.
Looking forward to having them back in the top tier.
