It shouldn't piss me off because I'm listening to decent stuff through my headphones, but unfortunately I can still hear the utter drivel over the top. The songs are bad enough, but the oh so clever witty dialogue between songs is making me want to gouge off my ears and jump through a nearby window. But by making an issue of it, are you not causing a rift between the 2 groups of poster on OT? Its like 'the lads' *rolly eyes smiley thingy* making a point to all and sundry about how boring some posters are etc. Do you see that as fair? Because i dont! You now have people openly saying they dont like certain things that are spoke about etc. which then goes on to divide the forum. I feel somewhat that 'the lads' *rolly eyes smiley thingy* have now been isolated and outcast as some unwanted group of kids that are spoiling the adults fun...well im sorry, but it **** stinks to be frank! You dont have to put names in posts, but lets not pretend people are thick as pigshit and dont know who is being referred to. There is an awful lot of pot calling the kettle black going on tbf. Seems like some of the, shall we say 'wiser posters' who seem to carry some clout around the forum are trying to split the forum and to a certain extent dictate what can and cant be spoken about!? Its called 'General Chat' which means anything can be spoken about. I havnt seen one piece of red type in any thread for weeks so it shows that the mods are happy that no rules are being broken, yet posters feel thay can voice there disapproval at whats being spoken about!?!? I've often wondered if that would be the case. Take away religion, take away the need to kill and injur others that refuse to believe your god is the most merciful. But I do suspect something else will simply fill the void for those that need a cause to be destructive for. I'm not sure Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot or Kim Jung Il were particularly religious types. But between them they did inconvenience quite a lot of people. I think if we removed religion then flags, skin colour, posession of a caravan etc will be the things that fill the excuse void. I think. Probably. As you say, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Kim Jung Il did, "inconvenience" a lot of people. Hard not to describe prolongued misery followed by death as at least inconvenient, really. Obviously that argument about something else coming along to fill the void left by religion isn't a new one. What I'd say is that your four examples all dealt in ideologies now considered to be bullshit, and bullshit ideas are at the heart of all the trouble. We can only eliminate the bullshit ideas as we come across them, and at the moment we have three big ones in the monotheistic faiths. But maybe there would always be something to fill the void. The other could be more like a Wetherspoons pub, giving opportunity for people to discuss the merits of various sexual acts and other crude topics of conversation. It could have a couple of 'gamblers' and perhaps some titty pics for people to look at while they urinate. Wiggy will be on first name terms with all members of bar staff, while Irreverentad, Eames & co will contest customer of the month on a regular basis. A section at the back of the pub will be reserved for loud music and dancing, while a special dancing pole will be installed at the specific request of Dante. The 'Villatalk crew' will meet every thursday for Curry night and to swap materials of a pornographic nature (namely involving Tulisa whatsherface).
