MCU
Anybody using this as their default music player? I'm just downloading my music via wifi to my device now and it's taking forever.
The_Rev
Yeah. No complaints over speed either. Listened to an album over 3G on a train just last week.
limpid Posted January 14, 2013 Administrator Share Posted January 14, 2013 What The_Rev said. No speed issues at all.

PieFacE Posted January 14, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted January 14, 2013 If I have 3G enabled and in use my battery goes flat in about an hour or two. They need to create a battery which doesn't run out already, lazy bastards
The_Rev
Nuclear phones! It's the future. Just dont let the bastards in Iran get hold of any.
Stevo985 Posted January 15, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted January 15, 2013 How much data does this use? It interests me, but I thikn given I have a data limit it wouldn't be worth it
The_Rev
It will hammer your data unless you pre-load/cache tracks on your phone via WiFi (which is very easy to do) but it is still worth doing even if you have a data limit because you can stream the music to computers too. I could log into my account on Chrome on a mate's PC or laptop and have all my music appear there as if by magic. Really handy if you are having a party. Tegis Posted January 15, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted January 15, 2013 I use it as my "not on spotify" backup. Fantastic service

Will probably give it a go, especially as I think my laptop is on the brink of dying so could do with backing up all my music (which I really shoudl have done already!) MCU
Whilst we're here, do any of you buy your music digitally? I've just seen a few cheap albums in the play store.
limpid Posted January 15, 2013 Administrator Share Posted January 15, 2013 Remember that your initial uploads are slow. Typically 10% of download speed.

I spend about £40-50 a month on digital music purchases, split between whoever out of Google or Amazon have the tracks I want. I haven't bought a CD for myself for about 5 years. You can download the MP3s whenever you want from phone or desktop though. If you want it all in Google download the MP3 from Amazon on your desktop then allow the Google Music Manager to upload it. Bit of a pfaff which is why I try to buy anything through Google now.
