Jimzk5 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Surely its hannibal out of the a team? That is **** awful the jacko statue outside craven cottage is better than that
coda Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 It should've showed him pointing at his watch.
maqroll Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Can't say I'm a fan of erecting statues of people who haven't retired from the game yet.
CI Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 If anyone deserves a statue it's Sir Alex Should have pulled his sleeve up a bit though to reveal his Casio He will be synonymous with that
darrenm Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I suppose they couldn't have put a lifelike statue of him as it would be indecent to have a statue of a giant tw4t.
flamingsombrero Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 + % A bloke off Midlands Today who's name I can't remember = Whatever the **** that statue is supposed to be.
CI Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Who is that ? This reminds me a bit of the waxworks museum at great Yarmouth
The_Rev Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Madame Two Swords? It's Jimmy Krankie Ted Bates (65+ years at Southampton as player, manager & director) and the statue was so hilariously bad that they replaced it. The second statue is pretty good to be fair.
TrentVilla Posted November 25, 2012 Moderator Posted November 25, 2012 I thought that was Sir Bobby Robson at first, what a terrible statue, I just read about it and the first one cost over £100k and they ended up paying a similar amount for a replacement. Just down the road from me in Nottingham town centre is the Cloughie clown shoe statue, his feet look like that of Bigfoot so out of proportion are they.
The_Rev Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 The Matt Busby statue at Old Trafford is majestic though. The one of Charlton, Best & Law is pretty good too. The new one looks sub standard to say the least when you compare it to others on the site. The Bobby Moore statue at Wembley is awesome too, and even our own William McGregor statue at Villa Park is really nice, so it's not like statues outside of football grounds are universally bad. Fergie must have mixed feelings about his. Flattered, but a little disappointed.
TrentVilla Posted November 25, 2012 Moderator Posted November 25, 2012 Yeah that Busby one is impressive, even more so when you see it in person. The two Sir Bobby Robson statues are decent as well, particularly the one at Ipswich the hands or lack of them on the Newcastle one don't quite look right to me.
maqroll Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Who is that ? This reminds me a bit of the waxworks museum at great Yarmouth Ted Bates (Soton)
TrentVilla Posted November 25, 2012 Moderator Posted November 25, 2012 Ted Bates (Soton) Anyone spotted the throw on Rory Delap? wow
Jimzk5 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 The fiberglass and moulded plastic statue of jacko outside craven cottage takes some beating
