leemond2008 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 OK then I think someone (could even have been me) started up this topic last year and it was actually really helpfull to some people (especially me as I managed to get my dads present sorted pretty damn cheaply) so here is the idea, what are you buying your nearest and dearest and do you know of any bargains that are knocking about that could help people out i'll kick off nephew, 6 years old - skate 3 for the x-box 360 female friend - big bang theory (series 3 and 4) thats all ive got done at the moment still got quite a few things to get and not a lot of money to get them with
mjmooney Posted November 23, 2011 VT Supporter Posted November 23, 2011 Same as ever - don't know. Not a **** clue. And probably still won't know on the morning of Xmas Eve. It's the one aspect of Xmas that I totally hate. (EDIT: That and the religious stuff, natch).
kidlewis Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 christmas shopping is easy now and no excuse. internet FTW! also tesco offering double money on toys etc with their points makes it cheaper for better presents. groupon as well it's easier than ever. you can be thoughtful with minimal effort. WIN!
Shillzz Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I have literally no money, so no one is getting anything, and they've all been informed of this. Problem solved.
irreverentad Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Yup I agree, Groupon is fantastic! Although I need to buy for the girlfriend that I will only have been seing for 2 and a bit months. I don't want her to think it is anything too serious and don't wanna spend a lot on her......

You'll be wanting to visit a genuine Jewellers rather than H.Samuel then...

irreverentad Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 hmmm I was thinking maybe a DVD or book or something for the girlfriend.....
irreverentad Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 :| You don't really like her then? She is really nice. But I don't wanna wax £50 if either of us knock it on the head in January or February. Would you?
Shillzz Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Good question... Personally, I'd probably pitch at around the £50 mark. Jewellery could be a bit too much though in fairness, perhaps something like some champagne, flowers and some love eggs?
irreverentad Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Nah they all wouldn't fit up there ;-) I was gonna get the inbetweeners box set for her. But what if she spends more on me?!! arrgh she is playing with my mind!
Shillzz Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 This is the problem, you don't want to be outdone. Imagine she goes nuts and gets you a pair of Ray-Bans or a nice watch?? I reckon you need to do a bit of research and get a feeling for roughly how much she's going to sink into your present.
