Well we had rounds 1 and 2 last night and there weren't many big upsets apart from Manley and Monk Sr going out (both spent forces anyway) , but tonight sees the entrance of the big boys.

It's first to 9 legs then the 4th round draw. You should keep an eye out for a lad named Kirk Shepherd who plays in the Birmingham leagues now and then and could do really well.

Kirk Shepherd was in the world final about 3 years ago iirc. got knocked out 1st round the year after then haven't seen or heard of him since ( although someone did say he plays for Walmley now and again )

Yeah , he was beaten by John Part pretty convincingly in the 2008 Ladbrokes World Championship.

Oh I like him all the more for the showmanship :D

Fancied Newton in the final, but Wade takes it...

I bet Sky are gutted Wade won. He showed them up in an interview after his 4th round win by saying that it would be nice to see some other players on the main stage, instead of the usual faces and the interviewer was lost for words ! Fair play to him .

Just me that thinks Wade is an utter bellend? Really wanted Part to win that, didn't deserve to lose either.

No, its not just you. Wade comes across as a bit of a tw@t. So does Adrian Lewis for that matter. I hope Whitlock wins it, I think he has the tools to do it.
