Brumerican
Inspired by MJMooney's link and my own layman's interest in neuroscience , I have created a thread for all those head bending pictures that don't really qualify for other threads. To start the ball rolling ... All lines are straight and parallel. This is not an illusion. The chair is very real. Keep staring at the centre but move your head to the side so that you're looking at your display from an angle. Not an illusion or photoshop. Look above the letters or to the side. Stevo985 Posted May 20, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted May 20, 2011 Awesome! Am I being dim, what's the illusion with the soldiers? I like the Oxy one. I've seen a similar one before. Apparently it's because you have blindspots in your eyes, and your eye will just fill in the blanks, so to speak, with what it can see around those spots. Brumerican
What's the illusion in the first one? If you stare at one spot then other parts of the picture move .
Chindie Posted May 20, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted May 20, 2011 The clusters of balls seem to rotate on the edge of your focus if you stare at the centre.
Brumerican
They aren't all illusions per se. Some are just cool or strange pics .
