Ballybunion_Ice
I'm sure I heard on the radio today that the club had a meeting with the players about who they feel should be the next manager. Sounds a good idea.
thejoker
I'm sure I heard on the radio today that the club had a meeting with the players about who they feel should be the next manager. Sounds a good idea. I doubt they would do something like that when we still currently have a manager. And it doesn't sound like a great idea to me, the players would want an easy life and would choose a manager as such, not necessarily the best manager. VILLAFC2000
Its all about RAFA! Its a redciculous argument. Sam Allaadyce - 17 Years management - "Football League Cup: Runner-up (2003/04)" David Moyes - 13 years Management - " Football League Second Division Champions – 1999–20002 "FA Cup finalist: 2009" Rafa Real Madrid U-19s Spain U-19 League (1): 1993 Spain U-19 Cup (2): 1991, 1993 Extremadura Segunda División Promotion (1): 1997–98 Tenerife Segunda División (1): 2000–01 Valencia La Liga (2): 2001–02, 2003–04 UEFA Cup (1): 2003–04 Liverpool UEFA Champions League (1): 2004–05 FA Cup (1): 2005–06 FA Community Shield (1): 2006 UEFA Super Cup (1): 2005 Internazionale Supercoppa Italiana (1): 2010 FIFA Club World Cup (1): 2010 Individual awards Don Balón Award (1): 2001–02 UEFA Manager of the Year(2): 2003–04, 2004–05 FA Premier League Manager of the Month (5): November 2005, December 2005, January 2007, October 2008, March 2009
TRS-T
Impressive but Moyes and Big Sam have never managed big clubs like Liverpool and Inter Milan so it's to be expected that Rafa would have won more trophies.

Please give it up on Big Sam. I somewhat understand being interested in an English manager, but we shouldn't sacrifice quality for nationality. Big Sam is nothing more than mediocre, and appointing him is the best way to ensure we always finish between 7th and 12th (ha!). He's managed several different Premier League clubs and has been sacked each time. I would be more upset with us hiring him than I would be with any other imaginable appointment. Maradona10
I couldn't care less what Rafa has won, the man is deluded. He will be more hated than Houllier.
Maradona10
My list would be Moyes, Hughes and then Jol.
smetrov
Moyes - Pros: Would be a universally popular choice. Has run Everton well - without much cash Cons: Has Randy the stomach for the fight to get him here ? *Hughes: Pros : Did well at Blackburn and was never in with a chance at Man City - rumours that he is only on a short term deal at Fulham. Cons - Mr Average - Draw specialist Rafa: Pros: Very impressive CV - Available. Cons: Another ex liverpool Boss , Time out the prem - Recent record not impressive - Similar to GH - IMO he has a feeling of yesterdays Man. *My Tip - Very good odds at 7-

Denis_B
How about the nightmare scenario - GH out of hospital and goes upstairs leaving GM as the manager? As GM is saying they are working on Summer transfer targets that isn't that far fetched but is a recipe for bloody disaster HERE

DelboyVilla
In my 25 years in work I have never once been asked for my opinion on my new boss so I very much doubt whether the players have had any say in the matter!! Get Moyes,,, offer Everton 5M in compo and they will snap our hands off.

At leats GM wont put his foot in it with the media, in fact he seems quite good with them. Cant say it would be my first choice though.
