Villaninoz
Will start in Centre Mid against United as GH thinks he is the only player in the squad that can mark Fletcher and cover the necessary yardage that Fletcher does! Just something a little dickie bird told me...
DiegoD
Thats quiet the prediction, only saw him play against Vienna and didn't think much of him to be honest. Putting him in against united would be one hell of a premier league debut.
villianusa
So is this dickie bird someone who would know?
Villaninoz
Yes, it's from a very good source within the club, so i would be amazed if he was wrong.. Have to agree though, that's some debut for a kid! Houllier must think highly of him thou.
villianusa
Well tomorrow will tell; will be an awesome experience for him as long as doesn't get overwhelmed.

VillaGoMarching
Admittedly I haven't seen a great deal of Hogg but he just doesn't seem athletic or skillfull enough for the top league. On another point, have we sold Herd?
ChrisNichollsToe
I think Houllier is happy with Clarkey, so cant see this. Why worry about their players? Let them worry about ours!!
OutByEaster? Posted November 13, 2010 Moderator Share Posted November 13, 2010 Hogg can run and tackle and he makes good late forward runs into the box - I'm not sure he's got quite enough for this level, but he's the type of player who'll give you what he's got - a debut in which you're asked to stop Man Utd playing isn't exactly a treat though is it? I agree, it just one step beyond for the lad. Maybe against Wigan or somebody like that, but Manure might just destroy the lads confidence. Clarkey is the better player for me. Jon
What about Sally Foo? Slightly more experience, and an actual CM player rather than a shoehorned one like Clark ...

Stockport_Villain
I would have reservations about this if it is true, but there is an argument that Hogg would be more natural in that position. In the Blackpool game Clark was very negative with his play and the first option was always to play the ball back to the centre halves during the first half. If we did this against Manure it would invite pressure on. Hogg, when I’ve seen him, offers more variety of passing which Houllier may think is necessary. Jon
I guess it would make sense in that Boss Hogg and Bannan will have played together a lot in the reverses, and so will know eacch others games inside out, and will be on the same wavelength. Clark, whilst he will have played with BB a lot in the reverses, will have been at CH.
paul34
or maybe clarky will drop to center half with collins and dunne on the bench?
roadoftrinity
Against Blackpool when he wanted to bring on a bit more strentgh to central midfield he brought on Lichaj, a right back coming on for his Premier League debut instead of Hogg. Think that the original post is bollocks.
C4rvillan
There could be some truth in this as Ireland has flu. Perhaps Clark and Hogg will be holding and Bannan in the hole.

With Albrighton on the bench? I can't see that. If he's going to play I can only see it being as a direct replacement for Clark who I thought looked distinctly uncomfortable playing out of position against Blackpool despite having done the job very well at Fulham.
