jonno_2004
Suspensions for 5 yellows kick in 7 days after 5th yellow, so Burnley away would be the game he misses. I'll update the table at the start when I've made it look good like BOF does!Do they? The FA.com says he's suspended for Bolton
stato
You're right it does - in that case, they've changed the friggin rules again!
VillaChris
I assumed 5 yellows was 7 days aswell, must be immediate next match then this season. Hmmm.
lmarsha_926
He is suspended for the Bolton game http://tinyurl.com/ybyhmxw Aston Villa skipper Stiliyan Petrov has joined defender Habib Beye in being ruled out of the Barclays Premier League clash at home to Bolton through suspension. Beye was ruled out of the clash with the Trotters after being sent off during last night's 2-1 reversal at West Ham. But it has emerged Petrov picked up his fifth booking of the season during the Upton Park meeting and he will also be banned at the weekend. Last season players who picked up a fifth booking had seven days grace before a suspension came into effect but now any ban is immediate. A Football Association spokesman confirmed: "Suspensions for five bookings now bring about an immediate suspension." It is another setback for Villa boss Martin O'Neill who also has striker Emile Heskey (back) wide player James Milner (calf) and Craig Gardner (groin) as major doubts. Nigel Reo-Coker is the leading candidate to fill Petrov's role. He has not started a league game since his training ground spat with O'Neill in September but impressed as a substitute against the Hammers - his former club. The only plus point for O'Neill is that defender Carlos Cuellar will be available to face Bolton after serving a one-game ban for his red card in the 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park last weekend

kurtsimonw
2 right backs sent off in 2 games. Imagine if this was 2 years ago, when we didn't even have a RB to begin with!

markavfc40
Had a few booked today, Carlos must be close to a ban now? Carlos is now on 3 yellows. Ash Young is on the verge of a ban with 4.
SoccerHQ
Honestly though Carlos had received more. Bit annoying we'll probably lose Gabby and Ash at some stage over the next few weeks as we could do with them at the Emirates and against Liverpool certainly and not having either at Sunderland or against Stoke would be a blow aswell. Don't 5 yellows get expunged around the new year period this season, not that I'm expecting either to last that long.
stato
Table on page 1 updated. Ash moves onto 4 yellows along with Gabby, so both 1 away from a suspension. The 5 cards rule is up to the end of February.
GasGasGas
According to the premier league website, we are the dirtiest team in the premiership, having picked up the most yellow cards (32 so far) and 2 red cards. The usual suspects Blackburn and last year's winner Stoke have been pretty well behaved this season.

Jas
Agbonlahor and A.Young are big worries. Need them for the Arsenal and Liverpool games.
kurtsimonw
I think we need to try and do what sort of happened last season, where plays seemingly took it in turns getting suspended.
