But you have Ice Lance!

Frost is really really good when you get to this kind of level. something like this so you will crit everything and hardly ever get hit. Frostbolts slow everything down so they cant get near you, and you can just keep freezing things Frost Nova and the Water Elemental freeze spell. When something is frozen you have a huge chance to crit it (an extra 50% on top of your normal chance) so you can kill stuff very quickly indeed. Having a pet is great too. I'll find out a macro for it when I have a bit more time.

When something is frozen you can shoot off a Frostbolt and an Ice Lance while the Frostbolt is flying though the air and the damage you do is huge. It's called a shatter combo, there are loads of things about it on Youtube.

Frost is ok, but only if you're using an improved blizzard spec for AE grinding. With the recent changes to arcane to make it more mana efficient, I'd suggest speccing arcane as soon as you get Arcane Blast (level 64, I think).

There's awesome damage output with Arcane Blast and Missile Barrage (talented ability), Evocation is reduced to a 2 minute cooldowns, which gives you a nice heal every 2 minutes if you glyph into it.

You'll have less multi-mob control, but as I said, if taking many mobs at once is your thing, you want to spec into Blizzard and just grind them all down, if you're not taking more than a couple of mobs at a time, go for Arcane, it burns through mobs more quickly, 0 downtime, and though the extra survivability of frost can be nice, mobs drop far too quickly for you to need it.

I don't understand all the geek talk for wow yet, but most of that makes sense.

I would like to spec what is best for dungeons - mainly doing 2-5 mobs at a time, as I find myself doing those more than anything. I am ALWAYS the only Mage in a dungeon.

I use Blizzard more than anything at the moment.

You're probably better off following The Rev's advice then.

I do suggest at least one point in the Improved Blizzard talent, though (frost third tier). It slows the movement speed of all mobs that get hit by the Blizzard, and with the Frostbite talent, has a chance to root them to the ground, and reduces healing taken by all of them with Permafrost. It's an awesome talent.

While soloing, you'll comfortably be able to kill 5-10 mobs, as long as they're all melee mobs with no ranged abilities.

I think the Dungeon Finder is one of the best features ever implemented by Blizzard. Really enjoying using it, 9/10 grps I've been in have been great. You still get the odd arsehole but that happens in organised groups anyway.

I'm in two minds about it.

It's great on my druid, as I tank and get a group instantly (I was playing at 5am last week sometime, and even then. There is never a time that a tank cannot instantly find a PuG).

On my mage, it's fairly annoying. It's first come first served, without anyone actually picking you. So it's great for low geared players, but I used to get an invite within a couple of minutes using the old LFG tool that showed my stats in the comment box, now it makes me wait in line with random idiots for 15 minutes, so I stick to waiting for guild members.

It's perfect for casual players like me to be honest. Instances are the one area of the game that I've never really got on with, so for me to sit down on Sunday and run through 7-8 dungeons in a row on my Mage with decent people, getting good drops was fantastic.

If you are doing instances, frost AOE is great. I havent played in a couple of patches, but just raining Improved Blizzard on baddies, and hitting them with a Nova/COC combo whenever they are off cooldown works nicely.

Hey! Me again. :D Regarding my Paladin, I'm level 13 now and finding using the natural two-handed mace a little too slow for my liking so was wandering if theres much point in learning a new weapon skill? Are any deemed to be better or easier to fight with to what I'm using now?

Its all front loaded burst, they hit you with loads, have to wait until their cooldowns come back, hit with the burst again, rinse and repeat. You wont get any of that this side of level 60 either. Its auto attack + alt tabbing out to watch porn while you wait for your target to die until you can AOE grind with Protection.

I was replying to Risso, you just happened to post in the middle of my typing.

Paladins are a low damage class. They have plate armour, they have heals, they can defensively dispel, they even have multiple immunity shields. The insane survivabilty you get if you play as a Paladin (I think I got mine to level 30 without dying) means that you have to accept you wont be hitting as hard as some of the squishier classes. Paladins do have a damage dealing talent tree, Retribution, but its not as good as most other classes.

Times have changed Nays, Ducker and me are currently leveling paladins atm and we are about to hit outlands with about 2 days 4 hours played so far. We absolutely murder mobs although we have all the hierloom items such as shoulders, chest, weapons and trinkets. When we hit 11/12 we hit the barrens and proceded to 1 shot mobs doing about 200-250 damage on mobs.

The new dungeon rewards have made getting gear leveling up awesome and all our items are blues and good quality and you instantly join dungeons now when you queue as a tank. We burn through instances while 2 handed tanking and do crazy damage now as paladins normally topping the meters depending on who is tanking.
