Looking like it might be Amorim.

As it's been reported that Sawiris knows him and is an admirer etc as well hasn't it?

Well its a gamble  but he is very very highly rated.

If danks can get these guys playing like amorim could really bring a lot here.

A hope he can be our poch

I’m intrigued to know how they know each other…doesn’t seem obvious but in this weird and wonderful world it might be an interesting story.

He doesn’t play with wingers..

I hope that this isn’t true

Yeah i was just reading about his tactics.

Seems as you say, it is narrow with Wingbacks providing the width as well,

Like SG.

Well, unless it's a system which actually looks much different than how SG deploys it?

Its more of a 3-4-3/5-2-3 though, rather than a 4-3-3 like Gerrard

Guys, this is nothing really weird at all. People make out like this is some weird Gerrard quirk and that it's our only issue. It goes much deeper than that and I'd go as far to say that there might be several reasons for not appointing him, but this is hardly it lol

It's like you guys have a wingback trauma memory thanks to Steven.

After todays result the board have a bit more time to appoint the right man. If we had lost today the board may have panicked and appointed somebody uninspiring like Dyche.

That is not how professional boards act.

STOP OBSESSING OVER WINGERS!! 😭

You guys are just having SG PTSD. Let it go! It's red herring. Dismiss him if you want, but not because of wingers.

My mistake mate, I misremembered the article, so searched again, it's actually:

Quote

The highly-regarded Sporting CP head coach Ruben Amorim is the bookies’ favourite as things stand, with the Portuguese well-known to Villa co-owner Nassef Sawiris.

So " Well known TO ". Not like they necessarily know each other, i guess.
