Blindkilde is nineteen, turning twenty in September. Lauren Hemp is twenty-three, Missy Bo Kearns is twenty-two, Lauren James and Katie Robinson are twenty-one coming twenty-two, Maya Le Tissier is the only who is less than a year older.

Despite her young age I think from the current squad only Sarah Mayling and Maz Pacheco have made more appearances for us, Anna Patten was also in a strange situation of being one of our most experienced players in terms of appearances for us which she managed to do whilst being a loan player.

First pre-season game is tomorrow against Southampton, van Domselaar, Leat, Dali, Lehmann, Nobbs, and Daly, all going to be unavailable because of World Cup duty, so Sophia Poor who only just turned seventeen probably going to play in goal for us, there was another goalkeeper in the training video as well, I think it must have been Ella Pettit, there were also a bunch of other academy players, so a chance for them to impress with the numbers down at the moment.

Hopefully a chance for Magill to get some more minutes, was actually quite impressed with her in brief appearances towards the end of the season, went on a brilliant run in one of the games to set-up Daly goal, registered in my head as Hanson until I saw the highlights.

We also have games coming up against Spurs away, Villarreal away, Bristol City home, and Everton home

Tickets for the opener against United nearly sold out. Also had some seats in lower Holte which I think is a first.

Unsure of the precise sourcing (it's just a throwaway line in the Optus article), but we've been linked to 21-year old fullback Charlotte Grant, who plays for the Australian national team (although didn't really play in the WC)

I’d love to get Grant, fullback that runs heaps, bombs down the line and then rushes back. The only reason she doesn’t play much for the Aussie team is Ellie Carpenter plays in her position and when fit, Ellie would be in the top 5 in the world in that position.

We need a fullback, Sarah Mayling is our only specialist right-back, we've got two options for left-back Pacheco and Turner, but Turner was one of our best players as central defender last season, so I think that has become her specialist position now, so Charli Grant seems ideal, as from video I watched she's two footed and can play either side, whether her or someone else, i think we will signing a right-back and if they can play left-back too even better.

We're well stacked for central defenders now, Daly, Mullett, and Magill probably good enough striker options, so I think fullback, central midfield, and wing the areas we're most likely to strengthen.

Club have confired Sophia Poor as part of the squad for next season, interestingly she's been given the number 13 shirt, which seems high for an academy player, hopefully a sign she's already agreed to sign professionally with us when she can. Georgia Mullet also been given a squad number, again hopefully a sign she's going to sign a professional contract. Rachel Daly has changed from No.8 shirt to No.9, and Nobbs has the 8 shirt, Freya Gregory has been given the number 11 shirt.

I really hope Freya Gregory can kick on next season, she's definitely a top prospect, I remember watching her for Leicester the season before last and wondering why on earth we'd let her go on loan, she looked better than all our attackers at that point, problem for her last season was injuries and then missed the end of the season because of glandular fever, didn't realize how young she was until recently either, still only twenty, for some reason I thought she was more like twenty-two or twenty-three, must have been only seventeen when she came into our squad, and eighteen when she moved to Leicester.

Being given the eleven shirt shows the club have faith in her abilities and should give her some confidence, just need to hope she can avoid injuries as much as possible now.

She'll have plenty of time to think about things on the Chelsea bench. We've replaced with better anyway.

Again, re. Hannah Hampton, it's all speculation of course as we've never been told the actual situation. But if DvD was coming in regardless of whether Hannah stayed at Villa, I think moving to Chelsea was understandable, assuming she goes out on loan (which seems to be the plan).

Her England place would be under threat if she ended up sitting on our bench for much of the season which, if competing with DvD, would be a distinct possibility. A loan move will give her the game time she needs.

Then following a season or two on loan, if she impresses, she could have a real chance of replacing Ann Katrin Berger (who is 33 in October) as Chelsea's number 1 in the long term.

Ruesha Littlejohn has signed for London City, a good signing for them, I thought she might have got a move to a lower WSL team, maybe Bristol City. I think small heath are probably going to be strong next season in the championship, had a very strong finish to last season and only missed out on promotion on last day of the season, their good form did coincide with McLoughlin going there on loan, but not sure if she can take all the credit, hopefully Ruesha can help stopping them get promotion, London City were strong last season until they lost their manager, normally the newly relegated team is quite strong, but that won't be the case with Reading as had to release most of their squad and are now part-time.

I think she lives in London with Katie Mccabe as well, so good for her in that sense too.

Championship season starts this weekend, third tier started last weekend, I thought we might have sent a few more out on loan/dual registrations, only one I'm aware of is Anna Draper, who played in goal for Derby in their opening 2-1 defeat to Wolves.

Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Natasha Harding, and Emily Gielnik are yet to find new teams or if they have it hasn't been announced yet.
