I don't think it's a problem with fitness, I think it's more mental than anything. Everyone in our squad is grossly overpaid and can't be arsed.

1m % this.

Mile Jedinak at 55k per week is a prime example. He apparently turned down premier league teams as he was won over by RDM and Xia's plans for the future! :crylaugh:

I'm sure it wasn't anything to do with the fact nobody wanted to pay him anywhere near that even in the premier league

Blaming money for their fitness issues is stupid. I think at the minute we are low in confidence and once we start playing as a team again we'll see them work harder. You can't have some players pressing and others sitting deep. They need to get a style drilled into them and get used to it. It's going to be hard to get players fitness levels up between matches as there's not much time to do much. We need to nick a win and I think we'll see a lot better team once they relax.

Work hard? They are all being paid twice as much as most players in the league. Some are being paid more than premier league players, most of them don't give a flying **** and those that do like Elphick are sadly lacking in ability. The whole thing is a complete disaster

I don't think we are that far away from a QPR situation where a bunch of lazy, overpaid players with inflated egos are just going through the motions picking up their big salaries.

Not quite as dire situation yet, but I think we got our transfers badly wrong in the summer.

Really hope Bruce can sort out this mess.

It can't keep being a fitness issue.

For me it's more a lack of passion and desire coupled with a really weak mentality which leads us to be highly vulnerable to caving in, as per the second half on Saturday.

So if we pay them less they'll be able to run more?? It's nothing to do with money. Ive been to every game and Saturday was by far the worst performance but it's the only time we've looked flat throughout the game. Injuries stopped Bruce being able to bring on any attacking changes so we couldn't change the way the game went. It'll be interesting to see how many of the Wolves team played internationals the week before. Which players don't care? Or is that just another easy thing to throw out without any actual substance? We haven't had a settled side and that affects everything. We need to get a high tempo in our game and that needs to be trained into them. That'll come with Bruce. Failing that we could dock their wages to see if your theory works.

No we should not have signed the players we did for the fees we did or pay them the wages they are on. They are all way too comfortable here. We made very bad choices again in the summer

If we're genuinely paying players 55k a week then we are seriously in the mire.

What desire has somebody like jedinak got left, really? 32. Coming to the end of his career and some mugs are willing to pay him a fortune. Jesus wept. Then the knock on effect it has on other players.

We have a number of players on monstrous wages who really don't deserve it. What message are we sending out here?

Wtf has mile jedinak done ever in his career to warrant the rumoured 55k a week?

Name names? The only one who has been a big disappointment is Jedinak for me. Elphick started well but has slumped the others have shown promise but we need to find a settled team. You've also no idea what the majority of the new signings are on. It seems you're quite jealous over the amount footballers get as it's your fall back argument.

I don't think wages has anything to do with this problem, of course we are probably paying several of them well over the going rate, but that's another issue.

Only Jedinak has dissapointed you?

I'm not particularly impressed with any of the new signings to be honest. Either lacking in quality or not worth anywhere near what we paid for them.

How on earth did we replace 11 poor and unfit players and manage to end up with 11 poor players who are unfit?

Someone spoke of a curse, I'm starting to think it just might be.

I genuinely can not fathom how the worst team in Europe (imo), can be taken and spent 60m quid on, only to get worse.

Whatever you say the likes of lambert, sherwood, garde and RDM..... useless but complete morons? I'm not so sure.

I'm lost as to the answer as I'm lost to what the problem is but surely it's not because we consistently put together 11 professional footballers who simply can't play football. Surely not?

Something so appalling just doesn't add up, not even in football.

Adding to the fact we have changed manager , assistant managers, coaches, fitness specialist, goalkeeping coaches several times and even changed ownership makes it even more baffling.

To be frank it's onehell of an achevment that I'd liken to picking the lottery numbers out twice in a row.

I used to like Aston Villa. They just make me feel despondent now.

It feels the same as last season so much.

New players that you think are going to click. New manager that is just settling in . It's going to be a struggle this season and I'm starting to feel we are going to be around the bottom 3.

So we can all agree, there's a curse on Aston Villa, it can be the only reason, it must be almost impossible to get into this scenario with the money spent and personnel change....
