  1. Lets hope she can do for womens tennis what Murray has done for the mens...
  2. Sadly they went out of the tournament last night along with the Italians which has pretty much ended my interest in it.
  3. Conor glad you like your S3........ Anybody done any "playing around" with NFC Tags. I might get a cheap pack of ebay and see what can be achieved.
  4. Watched The Hunger Games last night. What a pile of crap. Basically The Running Man written by a woman.
  5. This is where you and I fundamently disagree. I would much rather a pure stripped down OS without added bloatware for me to add the apps I need. In most cases these apps will be of a far higher quality and offer more features than those offered as part of Sense or Touchwiz purely because they need to be to survive on the Play Store.
  6. Having features embedded in the OS is far better than installing 3rd party apps. So you dont use a third party launcher or messaging client then.
  7. Tried the voice search on Google Noe today and it worked flawlessly. Much much better than the Voice app on the S2.
  8. Surely its what they do that counts
  9. Conor Smart Stay Ex and I see you to name just two
  10. Well with the 12 or so hours I have had the phone I would say that Google Now is fantastic. You cannot (at this point) add this to your S3 but alot of the Touchwiz apps have similar or equivalents in the Play Store, those I want I can add without having all the other crap which goes with it. How long will you keep your S3, 12 months and change up for the S4. How long do you wait for Jellybean 2 months, maybe 3 - thats between 1/6th and upto 1/4 of the total time you own the handset it will not be on the latest OS with the improvements that will bring.
  11. If we were to choose phones by how popular they are then I assume we would all be using Iphones as the Galaxy S series wouldnt have got of the ground.
  12. Well I got a Galaxy Nexus of ebay for just under £230.00 and havent really touched it until last night as I was waiting for some screen protection to come. Its a very different OS from the S2 and may take a couple of days to adjust to. First impressions are that I like it. Google Now has the ability to be something which is just brilliant. Took me a while to work out how to put shortcuts onto the screen but its easy when you know how. Conor Im not sure that there is a right and wrong answer for the the skinned v stock question. You prefer skinned, Darren prefers stock. I've not used the Nexus long enough to form an opinion yet, I juts got pissed of waiting for Samsung to decide they were going to bring OS Upgrades out to their customers, the timescale is just ridiculous. If and when Google bring out a 10 inch tablet my Tab will be gone too.
  13. Born in the 60s Loved the 80s - We were League Champions and European Champions
  14. But it wasn't a mechanical fault. Hindes said in the interview that he fell off deliberately to get a restart. Lack of knowledge of the interview from Dratly! No mechanical fault = should in theory have been disqualifed (or their results should have stood, and they'd have been eliminated legitimately on time). This is far worse than the badminton IMO. Jon sorry but you are not right at all there, IMO. As said the race can, and often is so it seems restarted, because of a crash and / or mechanical failure. The rules allow for that quite simply. If there had been any break in the rules as the women found out the judges would have thrown them out. To try and compare to the Badminton team is wrong. That was braking the rules. The GB team restarted the race as a result of a rule, totally different ends of the spectrum. The judges has the discretion to restart or not and they were happy I find myself in the unusual position of agreeing with Ian. They covered this on 5live this morning and no rules were broken.
  15. Hi Conor, yep saw that but I think mine is a US refurb and as of yet its not finding the update. May try Kies later.

  20. Anyone listen to Android related podcasts......looking for recommendations
  21. I wonder how many of our swimmers actually swam personal bests, if you try your hardest and do the best you possibly can its a bit harsh if people start being critical because others are quicker than you. The two sports I usually watch when they are on tv is footie and tennis and I have to say as of yet I havent watched either during the olympics.........
  22. How much of our expected success in rowing will be down to people being inspired by Steve Redgrave, similarly in cycling how many were inspired by Chris Boardman. I cannot remember too many swimmers who would have generated interest to the same level.
  23. Disagree. It's not just about Gold medals, though some would be nice. Look at the swimming, the performances there have been very poor, with many not even getting close to PB's. That is one sport that has had significant investment. The Cycling performance was down as much to arrogance IMO as anything else. Events that we are not strong in you can accept not being in the hunt for medals but examples such as the archery and the canoe which was just on showed a set of GB athletes who looked totally unprepared. Yes it is only day 4 but success in previous Olympics has typically come from strong starts and good performances. What we have seen to date is nowhere near what they should be doing in a lot of events. After this Olympics there seriously needs to be some looking at how athletes prepare because they do not seem to be anywhere near what some others are achieving and that is worrying According to wiki we have 8 Olympic size pools in the UK, 3 of the 8 only opened in 2012 and one of those is the London Aquatic centre. There was a stat on the BBC last night that there were more Olympic sized pools in Paris than in the whole of the UK. It will take time for the funding to show results. Funding average athletes achieves nothing. Yes we have had athletes with medal chances but most of them have been slender. The only one which has failed badly was Cavendish and that was as many have said down to the fact the GB cyclists believed their hype and completely **** up. If we dont fair well in the cycling and rowing then no doubt some questions will need answering.
  24. Beach volleyball on now.....what is it with this weird tape they have on them.......
