  1. OK getting really tempted by the Nexus 7. Even though I have found 7 inch tablets to be too small. Anybody want to give me the lowdown
  2. Its a wierd one and the ending is pretty crap too. One animated film which is always on Sky and just cracks me up is Megamind
  3. I watched that too, we did a bloody good job of it. SPOTY...I think it will be very tight. I think that Hoy, Wiggins and Laura Trott would all be a good shout but may just end up splitting the cycling vote. The boxers and rowers are probably not high profile enough which probably gives you a choice of Mo Farah, Andy Murray or Jess. I suspected the lady might just get it.
  4. So who is going to win BBC SPOTY
  5. Is there a chance that the biggest danger for Android is that Samsung becomes so dominant that other manufacturers pull the plug.
  6. Well I have had it working on my 10.1 Tab, S2 & S3 with TV Verstity running on the PC, I cannot remember if I had it working with just Windows media too.
  7. Well I see at long last Google Play Store is going to get their own version of Itunes Gift Cards which might not be a big deal to some of you but for those of us who have kids with Android devices it will prove to be a godsend.
  8. Well as Samsung have just announced they have sold 10 million Notes worldwide you would expect that would value those customers and get it out ASAP and not hold it back for 6 months to entice them to upgrade to the Note 2 instead.
  9. What will be interesting will to be how long it takes them to release JB for the S2 and Note..........
  10. Now a Nexus 7 3G would be on interest.
  11. OK here is a quick question. Samsung have released the pricing for the 10.1 Note which is the Wi-Fi model for £399, and the 3G model for £479. The comment that followed was that it was too close in price to an Ipad to succeed (which may be true). I know some people just wont buy tablet pcs but for those that do would you spend your £400 on an Ipad or a Tablet PC running an alternative OS (not necessarily Android)
  12. Conor why are you taking this as me attacking Microsoft. I dont have a problem with what they are doing. In the short term its great for the consumer, great new tech at a bargain price. I just wonder what are all these tech giants going to make in the future.
  13. Toshiba out of production of Microsoft RT, officially blaming component supply issues, unofficially.............
  14. So they will not be widely available but will sell well.......... If they do come out at that price point I think Microsoft will struggle to keep up with demand. They are going to be selling them at less than manufacturing cost and try to make up the loss through their App Store sales. OEMs will not be able to compete, mind you what else can they do. They cannot produce Ipads, Android is already a bit of a killing field and desk tops arent selling either.
  15. That will be impressive turnaround for OS upgrade from Samsung. My 10.1 Tab received the update to 4.04 last night, nearly 7 months on from my Transformer Tablet receiving it. Way to go Samsung, piss poor support by anyones standards. Rumours that the S2 and original Note will only get a "Value Pack" upgrade seems to be getting mentioned again which if it happens will be a commercial decision alone, because there is no reason at all why the S2 or Note can not run Jellybean.
  16. Latest rumour is that the Microsoft Surface Tablet will be out in October for a price point of 199 dollars. Thats going to piss off an awful lot of OEMs.
  17. I have been with Virgin 3 or 4 times and we currently use them for the works broadband. I am now on Sky and its never been a problem, the same when I was Plusnet, but I have had problems on to or 3 occassions with Virgin. My mom is on Virgin and a couple of years ago her internet was unusable and it took 5 or 6 phones call to there support who kept saying they could see nothing wrong. Eventually as a courtesy they sent out an engineer who replaced the modem, and surprise surprise it started working again.
  18. Had a play around last night with the NFC Tags (I got the 4 coloured Xperia ones for about £8.00) Works quite well - each one when scanned comes as either home, car, office or bedroom and you can assign certain actions to occur when its scanned. Having a look on the play store there are nfc programs which will work with Tasker which I would assume would offer far higher levels of customisation to each tag. I will have a play tonight using that to see.
  19. For Podcasts I listen to Android Central which comes out every Thursday/Friday and All about Android which comes out on a Tuesday. Will try out The Verge though.
  20. While the kids are off I have been dropping them at my moms for the day on a Tuesday. Google Now popped up this morning with travel details and did I want to add this destination. Now there is nothing in my calendar about this so Google Now has decided that this could be a re-occuring event of its on bat. How cool is that.
  21. Stevo you might not get chance to do this before your holiday but I can recommend signing up for Google Music and uploading you Itunes library to the cloud. On a associated theme what music player is everyone using? I used to use Poweramp as it has a pretty good Equaliser but now all my stuff is on Google music I may need to look at using a standalone Equaliser app.
  22. Always used to use Window Media Player until the wife got an Ipod and other apple flavoured products followed. We are now back to just 3 Ipods but now have several Android devices too. Is there a way to set up Windows Media Player to use the same library as Itunes or will they both play badly with each other.
  23. Didnt HTC continue to bring out models with only 500meg of Ram whem others had moved up to a gig.
