  1. This comment sums up the problem with this thread. Take the comment about how we were playing superb against Spurs prior to the sending off. Realise that statement doesn't fit your biased view. So change the statement to be the whole 2-1 loss against Spurs as being described as superb, boom nobody cares if anyone actually said it. People believe someone said it because you attributed it to someone as their "agenda". Sometimes I'm amazed at the things people post. But really, a football forum is by and large the last place for anything sensible or reasoned to be posted. The idea of debate is utterly impossible. Reasoned debate then mate. What exactly was superb about the performance up to when Benteke was sent off. The passing, the movement, the interplay, the attacking intent....anything? I would class a superb display as one like when we beat Leeds in the League Cup or when we beat Liverpool 5 - 1 in 76 I saw the game and say we played OK and nothing more, Spurs werent very good. For those of us who used to read the Argos what would they have rated the performance? Ah now it's comparing the words superb performance against this history of Villa great performances. Seriously!! Are we going to keep doing this? Avoid what was meant by a comment repeatedly? It was a superb performance by this team in the circumstances given the opposition, we needed a reaction and an attacking performance after the run of losses and the poor effort at QPR. We got it. We should have been at least 2 goals up at half time. People won't accept the significance of Benteke's sending off which resulted in the loss and obviously the huge knock on effect on the teams confidence. Instead all that blame has to be squared at Lambert. Yet we've managed to get two draws from a couple of tough games since which is a positive. We just need Benteke back. I genuinely believe that we are a top 10 side with this team when we have our best 5 players fit. The significance of not having Benteke or Kozak for the majority of this year has been huge. We need a big centre forward to bring physicality and hold the ball up, the effect on the rest of the team including and especially the defence is huge. Just give the team and manager some time, we aren't in a relegation fight and if we end up in one after the next 8 games we will all be in unison in wanting a change of manager. But until then, just give 100% support. One good win with the Holt rocking will give them a huge lift. I ask again what was superb? You cannot say they were superb and then when questioned start to redefine the usage of the word. Better yes, superb not a bloody chance. I would agree it was better than the QPR fiasco but then it would have been difficult to get worse and when you say given the opposition I thought Spurs were the poorest I have seen them in recent years, two things changed the outcome of that game. Firstly Benteke got himself sent off, secondly the opposition manager made substitutions which changed the game while our manager sat in his chair and twiddled his thumbs when everyone could see what was going to happen and only made changes after it was too late. On your last comment, we are in a relegation fight, just look at the table - just because we are not in the bottom 3 doesnt mean we arent.
  2. Some fans me included want Lambert out because in my opinion he hasn't coached players and improved them, he appears tactically inept, he doesn't appear after 2.5 years got his team playing to any recognisable system or game plan, his signings don't appear to have any plan to them and lastly his team play dour, boring defensive non-football that if being played by other teams we would all be giving stick for. If he changes the above he will get my support but not until.

  5. That was a doozy! I did sit there thinking it cant be him..............................can it?
  6. If you have battery issues then the Moto X is the same capacity as the n5 and almost the same skin. Buy something with replaceable batteries (or just a bigger battery). Possibly but my Nexus 5 used to be fantastic on battery. Not sure if its signal, wifi or just battery fatigue.
  7. Christ now the performance against Spurs was now superb, talk about some people having an agenda.
  8. Battery on my Nexus 5 is shocking and was before the update and really like what I have read about the new Moto X but who the hell is selling it.
  9. Remember when Brian Little walked out of the club because he didn't want to be the manager who took us down and that's where we were heading. In came Mr J. Gregory and most fans were WTF. What was his record 9 wins in 11 games. And some say that changing the manager won't make any difference. If Lambert wants to get the fans back on side perhaps he should try and win a few games rather than trying not to lose them.
  10. At my local leisure centre they have a free sports magazine which I picked up because there is an article in there about how Southampton are set-up, how they scout players, how they decided on a replacement when their manager left and it makes you realise we a run awfully, so poorly I doubt there are many clubs who are run worse than us. We seem to think that having a fancy training centre is the answer to all our troubles and its not. Lambert is by no means the whole reason we are where we are but he is without doubt one of the bigger factors, and the fact he signed a new deal makes you question his ambition because you cannot really see there being a huge change at the club so if he is happy to just try and survive in the Premiership, is he really the man we want to be our manager?
  11. Again this is nonsense, I said Benteke. Specifically that player. Not everything in his favour. I'm talking about by far and away our best and most important player. At our level our equivalent to Suarez or Ronaldo. OK and like said you had a full first season and 24 games last season to judge us on. What's 6 more this year going to change? I have already explained last season points per game with and without him. It would have resulted in us being 11th had he played 38 games based on the points per game ratio. Why this season, because this summer is the first time Lambert has had the freedom to sign experience and offer competitive wages. This is the first time I think he's got his team without the wage bill constraints he was under last summer. I believe he can be fairly judged this season. The key word is season. Not horrible run of fixtures in first 12 games without Benteke. I mean the full season of fixtures. Once half way through at the end of the year we can begin to give a fair reflection on the season so far. Unfortunately football is played on grass not paper and while the figures may point to us doing better when Benteke returns its reliant on two things. Firstly that Benteke will actually give a feck and won't be looking for an out in January. Secondly that Lambert is going to change the way we play and actually try and create chances for Benteke to put the ball in the back of the net. I have major doubts about both of those happening.
  12. Problem solved, and the issue was the CMOS battery was dead. Replaced the battery and the WiFi issue disappeared. Or it was a massive coincidence............
  13. Totally agree with this, unfortunately I think is the year he has pushed too hard and will end up owning a Championship team come the summer. The thing is Lerner will have lost value in the club and will probably have to spend more money to try and get us back up then it would have cost to give Lambert a decent shot at improving the team.
  14. Sorry guys. Yes reset router. still same issue. Powered Router off completely and then back on again. Powered of PC and back on again Still the wifi issue persists. I am going to try plugging a different PC into it tonight which should tell me if its the PC or the router thats got a problem/
  15. Sorry Richard, I usually agree with you on many things but on Lambert I am struggling to see the positives. 1 shot on target last night 2 points from 8 games 6 goals scored all season, the least in the Premier League and only just over half of what have been scored by 2 out of the 3 bottom three clubs. Bizarre substitutions. Issues that we saw on the pitch before he was appointed still not put right. I could go on. I cannot see what is going to change if he stays even with better backing he doesnt strike me as the person who can make the sort of change at our club the Graham Taylor did when he first came and I think it needs that kind of complete overhaul. Lerner has taken us down to this level while wasting millions but the only reason Lambert is in his third year is because Lerner is acting in his best interests and not the best interests of the club. What a fine custodian he is.................................
  16. I have a really bizarre issue on my Sky Router at home. Last night the power went off for less than a minute but came back on again and everything seemed fine, however I noticed that my phone couldnt connect to the wifi on the router. I would go to connect but them would just show it as saved. To cut a long story short I traced the problem down to if the Home PC was connected via ethernet then nothing could connect to it via wifi but as soon as the cable was unplugged or the connection disabled on the PC the wifi worked as normal. Anyone have any ideas?
  17. McLaren will need to collect as many points as possible next season and stand a better chance of doing that with Button in the seat. No reason why he should have to drive for peanuts either especially as Alonso has only gone there because the seat he wanted at Mercedez didn't become available.
  18. Just out of interest I had a look the other day at the trade in value for the Nexus 5 and was amazed how low it was. at most places it was down to two figures you will really struggle to get £100+ for it in really good condition.
  19. I have the Nexus 9 and I like it. Its a big upgrade from my nexus 7 2012 edition. I think most of the sniping was down to the price being so much higher than the Nexus 7, I got mine for £289.00 from Currys with an O2 Priority code but I think they have reduced the price by £10.00 and if you order online you can use a code to knock of an extra £20.00
  20. First issue with Lollipop on Nexus 5. When you open a link in Chrome it doesnt show as a tab that means you can go back to the previous site (the little number isnt there) unless you go into settings and turn the "Merge tabs and apps" off. Why would I want it on?
  21. Just got the update on my Nexus 5. Just appeared as always
  22. The Walking Dead has gone a bit of the boil but tonights episode might well improve it. Homeland had gone a bit predictable but then the last 10 minutes of last night was a bit WTF........in a good way.
  23. Both my kids love it and have now watched twice in the last 3-4 days, I found it all a little bit meh.
  24. Has anyone managed to get the phone to discover that there is an update ready, no matter how many times I get it to check it finds nothing and then at some point I will go to use the phone and it will suddenly announce there is an update ready.
  25. I guess there are 2 reasons I went down the Nexus road, firstly is its stock android and secondly is the speed of updates to the latest version. Stock android can be improved as can be seen by The Moto X additions and the camera isnt always what it should be when compared to other flagship devices. The speed of updates looks like it has improved massively with LG and Motorola being right on the case and get them out to users almost as quick if not quicker than Nexus handsets which begs the question of why would I want to buy a Nexus phone? Google have positioned it in the market up against the other big players and so will have to compete on more than just price. It will be very interesting to see how sales of the this Nexus go because of both price and size and how that might affect Googles thinking on the Nexus program in future.
