  1. Just let it go folks. No one's coming in.
  2. "I want a really wealthy businessman to run my football club and not care about the business side of it because it's just sport" is an incredibly naive way to think about it. Also, winning and competition? With Aston Villa? Err Big John doesn't want a sugar daddy to spunk money on players, no no just for Villa to be run properly.... Honest.I'd love a sugar daddy to do a man city with us. But I'd be happy enough if we were run as a competitive club in the top league rather than survive on the cheap. You enjoy striving for mediocrity so you can cheer on that billionaire and moan at fans. I've read some funny posts but this one takes the cake for incredible snobbery. Must be lonely in your ivory castle looking down at us commoners Snobbery? For wanting the club to do well over being happy a billionaire is financially ok. If you say so. Heard the same rubbish for the past 3 years. Snobbery for thinking that the rest of us who don't immediately want to do a man city are "striving for mediocrity." What a load of shit.

  4. Roughly the squad Lambert had to work with - the squad where he had to remove the high earners. I have marked out the high earners, now you tell me how to build a squad with 43m. Given Guzan Hutton Collins Dunne Cuellar Warnock Lichaj* Herd Clark Baker Stevens* N'Zogbia Petrov (Unfortunate, but still needed replacing) Makoun Bannan* Holman Ireland Albrighton* Delph Agbonlahor Heskey Weimann Bent Delfouneso* *These were under performing or were not good enough. That's a shit squad right there
  5. I have a bad feeling we're going to come out flat for this one. Enthralling derby game for us and Everton will be looking to get over their thumping from Liverpool. Wouldn't surprise me if we conceded early or don't get going until the second half
  6. Just let it go guys. You'll have a lot less frustration
  7. Same old story. These threads get ruined by the same people.
  8. Why are we still referring to ppg? It's like Con's win percentage stat. It's incredibly variable and with such a small range, the smallest move to the tenth place means a world of difference so it means **** all. It's a dumb stat.
  9. Palace have scored 15 goals all season. That's going to catch up with them eventually no matter how defensive they set up.
  10. The second was abysmal as Westwood and Lowton completely switched off and got caught out be the quick freekick. The third Mulumbu should've been tracked by Westwood, and the first while a wonder goal, Westwood could and should have looked to close down brunt a lot quicker, as he should know that in that situation the CB would stand off, its the job of the midfield to close down! The first goal I really don't think you can blame on anyone. Westwood was on his back with the center halves in front of him. Brunt took what? Two touches? The second One KEA actually switched off. Westwood was lining up for the one man wall and no one was tracking Morrison. I actually thought we did decently enough to recover as there were plenty of bodies to block the cross but a slice of misfortune. Still could've done better though. The less said about the third the better. A larger point is that this diamond will have us concede a lot more goals. Westwood really isn't suited for the bottom of the diamond role. Not strong enough. Delph and KEA drift out wide a lot to cover the flanks which leaves us very exposed down the middle. We can get away with the high press but it's a high risk proposition if they transition quickly down the middle as we saw with the first and third goals. It will be more entertaining for sure but until we replace Westwood in that role, it is likely we will continue to conceed and also more likely to get a pasting one of these days.
  11. Their last two goals were some poor defending but that first goal you just have to let it go.
  12. Wish he would pass it. Really likes a hoof
  13. Suppose that's what we take when we commit to the diamond, PL experience. Great number of bodies forward attacking, but very bare defensively. No midfield.
  14. I imagine that Bacuna and Weimann will be used to press high up the pitch if WBA decide to try and play with the ball. It would be smarter for them to just play compact and nick it on the counter with long balls up to Anichiebe, who I would put on Clark, but who am I to say. That's what I would do if I were WBA anyway. That front three wouldn't be able to break down two banks of 4.
  15. Don't really know to be honest. I can see both scenarios, but usually when something "works" for PL, he will do it again the next game regardless of opponent. So I expect the diamond.
  16. Kendrick seems to have confirmed as much that Bacuna will be playing high up the pitch Mat Kendrick ‏@MatKendrick 1m Just one change for Aston Villa. Matt Lowton in for Gabby Agbonlahor. Leandro Bacuna expected to play in an advanced role #avfc
  17. I would hope that we were going with the diamond as I'm not a big fan of playing Delph as a left sided midfielder Guzan Lowton Vlaar Clark Bertrand Westwood KEA Delph Bacuna Weimann Benteke Subs in case anyone is wondering. subs: Steer, Baker, Sylla, Helenius, Albrighton, Holt, Tonev.
  18. For AVFC: Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bertrand, Westwood, El Ahmadi, Delph, Bacuna, Weimann, Benteke
  19. For WBA: Foster, Reid, Lugano, Olsson, Ridgewell, Morrison, Yacob, Mulumbu, Anelka, Anichebe, Brunt.

So what I've gathere from your posts is that your favored formation is 5-0-5 with five target men? You got me. I was the one that actually advised Paul to keep buying strikers.
  21. So recently my Galaxy S4 has been dropping my wifi signal around my apartment. It'll do it even when it's not that far away from the router ~15-20ft at most. I have a Nexus 7 and various laptops and they don't drop signal all around the apartment. Any thoughts?

I, too, would be disappointed if he started. I'm not a big fan of two target men in any sort of formation
