  1. and the relevence to this thread is ??? Did Blair not today play the leading role at the Chilcot inquiry? and won't Cameron, like Blair be Prime Minister of this country?, all be it an incompetent one.
  2. Though some might well argue that the removal of that one dictator (the one about whose regime Blair said, "even now he can save it by complying with the UN’s demand") has left Iran in a position of much more power in the region (regardless of whether it is Dinner Jacket or the religious leaders who are actually in charge). Perhaps not better for many of us. What a load of bollocks. Are you suggesting that the more dictatorships around the world the better as it will stop other dictators becoming more powerful? What your suggesting is pathetic and as long as their are those of us who are of sane mind in the world then we will always be in a position to get rid of these evil **** when they get out of hand and history I'd suggest as shown that.
  3. As bad as Tony Blair may appear to have been now it is so much more frightening to think that the man who has clearly modelled himself on Mr Blair, but with half the intelligence, will soon be leading the country. Step up Mr Cameron and his sidekick, the equally squirmy,Mr Osbourne. The next five years with these two inept **** in charge blaming all their wrong doings on the previous incumbents of number 10 will be so much fun for those wealthy enough to ride it out.
  4. Just back and thought a point was a fair result. We had by far the better of the first half with Gabby forcing a decent save from Almunia and Ash going close with the free kick and apart from the Fabregas run and shot that hit the post just before half time Arsenal created nothing. Second half Arsenal probably edged it but again only really created the one chance through Arshavins run. Man of the match for me would be between Petrov and Heskey but I've given it to Heskey as I thought he held the ball up really well and brought others into to play. When he went off we certainly looked less of a threat. Petrov was superb and the best midfielder on show tonight for me. Ref was a joke missing numerous fouls by Arsenal and penalising us for fair tackles. Arseanal also should of had a couple more bookings. Pretty pleased with a point and very pleased with the performance.
  5. Hi General, What kind of attendance we hoping to get for tomorrows game?
  6. 30k at Goodison today. AG any info on how many the scum took to your place?
  7. Thought we played well and on another day would have run out comfortable winners. Petrov was immense, Downing had a very good game and carried the ball and passed it well. I also thought Heskey had a good game and was far more involved than Carew who did **** all when he came on. Gabby should have had at least one goal today and his failings in front of goal cost us. Everyone gave 100% again. Overall disappointed with the result but pleased with the performance.
  8. RedManc for me. If we are to win this cup then lets win it in style against one of the best club sides in the world rather than a non entity like Man City.
  9. General, excellent result tonight and our supporters were absolutely tremendous. Couple of quick questions. 1.) how many tickets have Blackburn taken for the 2nd leg. There were about 13k Blackburn supporters at the game tonight so I honestly can't see them selling anymore than 2-3k. Will tickets that they don't take up be made available to Villa fans if needed and on that point how many tickets have been sold? 2.) what is the attendance looking like being on Sunday? 3.) will Randy and/or yourself be at any of our fixtures in the coming weeks?
  10. Over the two legs it is. Anything else is irrelevant.
  11. Blackburn play a Prem League game on Monday 11th so it will be on Thursday the 14th as we don't play our league game until the Sunday ( West Ham ).
  12. Ash was Immense. Delph had an excellent 45 mins considering he has been ill for the last couple of days and Cuellar and Collins looked solid. We showed today we have a really good squad of players now.
  13. We deserved at least a draw but due to a last minute **** up got nothing. Thats the way it goes sometimes but I saw enough tonight to suggest we still have a great chance of finishing in the top 4. I'm gonna do a Rafa and guarantee we will finish above Liverpool at least. Oh and the ref and linesmen were totally inept tonight.
  14. Didn't think we got out of 2nd gear and looked a bit laboured going forward possibly due to the two previous tough away games. Every man once again gave his all and although Stoke had a fair few shots we always got a block in and I don't remember Brad having a save to make. Not sure what Stokes goal was ruled out for but I presume it was a push on Warnock. The goal stemmed from a lovely long pass from Downing to Young, great cross and a nice header from Carew. We didn't play anywhere near our best but battled superbly.
  15. Although the majority of Sha fans are inbred brain dead fools there are however some that were born perfectly sane and normal. Unfortunately these poor **** happened to befriend the aforementioned mentioned inbred brain dead fools at an early age and were influenced by them. They have subsequently had to spend the rest of their lives walking around in a daze wondering where the **** they went wrong and feeling inferior to a Villa fan much like a 30 year old man standing in a urinal amongst men with a child's cock.
  16. General have you got an update on the likely attendance tomorrow? I know you said earlier in the week it is likely to be 33k but I hope given our league position and the fact we have won two very tough away games we can now be looking at at least 37k.
  17. Would have been a nightmare, far too similar players. I don't think Laursen/Dunne would be any different from Dunne/Collins or Dunne/Cuellar apart from the fact that Laursen could do what Collins and Cuellar do only better.
  18. 94, 96 and 2000 ( semi and final ). 94 and 96 were great. The 2000 semi was ok and the 2000 final I'd erased from my memory until this thread brought the bad memories flying back. I'm 35 and have had a season ticket at VP since I was 14 so reckon I'm due another cup final and another winning one.
  19. Thats all very well BJ but if we'd have dropped a forward and played Reo Coker in every game we'd now be top of the league and already have won the Carling Cup.
  20. Whats that got to do with anything? I'd of thought the same applies for the vast majority of the squad. Having said that an in the know poster on here as stated on a number of occasions that Mon and Petrov had a big falling out in the dressing room after the Stoke game towards the end of last season.
  21. I personally think Stan plays just as well in a 4-4-2 as he does in a 4-5-1 ( or 4-3-3 ). Its the people that play alongside that have been the problem in a 4-4-2, that is until Milner has played alongside him in the last couple of games. I haven't seen any difference in Stans performances no matter what formation we have played. He always puts himself about, breaks up play well and never seems to give the ball away even if its just to play simple passes. I also haven't noticed him continually being knackered towards the end of games although if on the odd occasions this is the case it would be down to the amount of work he puts in. I can't think of many games in the past 20 odd months that Stan hasn't been constantly involved in the games throughout the 90mins. As our squad stands today if we are going to play 4-4-2 then Stan as to be one of the players in centre midfield. One game against Bolton when he didn't play isn't going to change my opinion on that as I believe we won that game so comfortably with Sidwell and NRC in centre midfield despite that partnership not because of it. An on form Carew and Ashley Young were far more influential in that game.
  22. Err because he wasn't playing as well as he is now....then. The same way Young is nowhere near his form that won him the awards last year. Oh and Giggs doesn't really play as a winger these days. So we are only basing how good players are based on how they have played this season? which in Lennons case I believe is 13 times. I think players should be judged over much longer than that or else where do you draw the line? Milner has been superb in centre mid for a couple of games, far better than Gerrard, Lampard, Essien, Fabregas have over the same period in my opinion but that doesn't mean I'd go around stating that Milner was the best centre midfielder in the Premiership.
  23. Carlos is now on 3 yellows. Ash Young is on the verge of a ban with 4.
  24. General, The special deals on tickets worked a treat again today so well done to all those at the club responsible for this. Almost 40k with Hull only bringing about 1500 is a really good attendance especially with the expense of Christmas around the corner. I've said it before but as a season ticket holder I have no problem with these special deals as it is always good to see the ground full.
  25. Played really well first half and pretty much went through the motions in the second half. Should have scored four goals in the first half. Apart from the shot in the 2nd half that hit the post Hull were never a threat. Thought the ref was poor today. The game didn't flow for long periods due to him blowing up when he could have played advantage and to the amount of times the physio came on, mainly for Hull, which must have been at least 5 times. Milner was superb today and is getting a nice little centre mid partnership with Petrov going. Attendance was very good today - 39700 odd ( Hull bought about 1500 ). A little quiet though after the first 15 mins I think mainly due to it being so easy for us.
