Yes agreed. Dunney baring that cup final blunder was magnificent that season, he made the PFA team so pretty impossible for anyone alongside him to play really badly. So your saying that Dunne is crap and is no longer able to cover for collins? No, he's saying that Dunne was so good that season therefore the defence was good therefore Collins didn't look so bad.

Somehow it seems a bit futile still to be sniping at MON given the whole range of issues we are facing now.I'm not sniping at him, I'm just pointing out that I agree with the analysis except for a crucial point. Big investment means little if you don't have a good manager at the helm, just like how in today's game a good manager can only do so much without big investment.

A very good analysis, except MON was never a top manager. Had we had a top manager at the helm along with the heavy investment, who knows where we could've gone.

As you say it was dumb luck it wasn't worse but some think you're an idiot if you think it's serious. The reason word removed footballers continue to be words removed is because if they're good enough then they can do what they want. People like Heskey will get slagged off yet someone who does this will have people praising him and wanting him in the team. Part of the reason I hate watching England now is because of the amount of words removed that play for them. Bannans gone massively down hill IMO. I don't think he should be booted out the club but I certainly won't be cheering him on or gutted if he doesn't play anytime soon. Nobody is slagging off Heskey because of what he does off the pitch - they're slagging him off because he's shit (although I think McLeish should get some of the blame too for playing him). Similarly, nobody is saying Bannan is great because of what he's done off the field. When people slag off Heskey or praise Bannan they're talking about them in purely football terms.

Albrighton has been terrible this season. Don't know why he's ignoring Clark though, especially when we have Collins being his oafish self week in week out.

If he starts with Heskey again in midfield I'll be **** livid. We have N'Zogbia, Petrov, Bannan, Herd and Jenas who should all definitely be starting ahead of him. A case could also be made for Ireland and Delph.

They'll become just like Coventry - hate our guts and completely irrelevant.
