  1. I never said getting CL wasn't important? I'm simply talking about the job Emery has done this season.
  2. This is key. We've been without Buendia and Mings ALL season, Ramsey for most of the season, will have been without Kamara for almost half the season and Torres for a good chunk of the season. Those are all very key players that would all be starting games for us - that's a hell of a lot of extra game time that's been loaded onto the shoulders of the players who have been fit.
  3. I know it's an easy out but ultimately injuries (and the resulting extra fatigue) are having a huge impact on how we set up in games now. Tbh even if the worst happens and we finish 6th I still think he's done a very good job this season, bearing in mind the injuries, which really have been horrific and one of the worst situations I can ever remember.
  4. Yes, under Emery we have tended to bounce back very well from bad defeats. Hopefully that bounceback starts on Thursday and not in a couple of weeks.
  5. I'm not disputing that, but you said the best case was 5th - it isn't, it's 4th. We're literally still in 4th, albeit Spurs have a game in hand. Personally I think we will end up finishing 5th but the best case realistic scenario is 4th. Ruling it out at this stage is ridiculous.

I know he won't blame injuries but he has every right to tbh. Being without Ramsey today was crucial and just the whole season we've had horrendous injuries.
  7. He should've checked with himself - he was the biggest let down of all of them.
  8. As captain I think "don't make **** stupid challenges that gain you nothing and could get you sent off"
  9. He left them 2-0 down with 10 men. What did you expect?
  10. Take the captaincy off him tbh. Still don't believe it was necessarily a red but going in like that he can have no complaints.
  11. Agreed. It feels like people completely jump over several stages. They go from "if we win this we've basically got 4th sewn up" to "we're basically out of the race for top 5 now" after we lose. It's absurd.
  12. Was a bad tackle but I honestly don't believe it was a red. As I said though, it was an idiotic decision to go in like that so I'm not really blaming the refs.

    Unai Emery

Don't really blame him too much for today. He's been completely hamstrung by injuries and players losing their heads.
  14. Don't think it was a red but was still a dumb challenge. What a **** idiot.
  15. Well I mean Cash nearly killed him once so who can blame him
  16. Same. That was Carew at his very best. When he was on his game he was like Ibrahimovic.
  17. Hopefully that was just planned. In fairness if I were the manager I probably would've only given him 45 minutes too.
  18. Yeah think people need to wait and see what Emery says before jumping to overly pessimistic conclusions.
  19. I don't rate him long term (he's getting on a bit and he's on big wages) but for the rest of the season he is hugely important.
