  1. The problem with your original post is it's in the Zaniolo thread. He's not a central or defensive midfielder by nature, like McGinn, Rodri or Rice. I also think he puts himself about far more than Bailey, Diaby, Ramsey so why not use these players as a comparison considering positionally these are the areas he plays? He's also picked up bookings even in his cameo performances so undoubtedly he's not shirking challenges or not trying. If anything he's putting himself about too much to try and impress, or through frustration. He's definitely not a passive individual if you look back at his games historically, here and elsewhere. Maybe if you'd used a comparable player in the first instance then the response would have been completely different. I don't see you questioning Diaby's heart considering he get's continually bullied. Problem is people see a lad over 6ft and immediately expect him to bulldoze everyone. Maybe if the kid felt more valued and got a run of games where he normally plays everyone would see more spirit and more fight for the cause. He's come into a new Country, new culture, been a fill in for the 8 position while Ramsey was out, which he'd never played before, then has had bit part games at best in his normal position without having the opportunity to get a run of games and find any form whatsoever.
  2. I don't think that was the case, but it probably might be now he realises he's not valued enough. 100% he'll go and tear it up somewhere else when this season is out the way. He's definitely not a bad player.
  3. You've seriously got to stop looking at silly comparisons. The current side is full of continental players many of whom don't have a blood and guts attitude, but that doesn't make them crap. And as much as I like McGinn he's been seriously found wanting in games himself and can be very one dimensional. I'm sure if we had a team made up of McGinns, McTominays or Gray's we'd still be lacking elsewhere. Lets be honest, McGinn is far from the main player in the side. He may well be captain but imo he's behind Martinez, Dougie, Watkins Konsa and Torres for quality. McGinn is a limited player, a good player on his day, but still limited. The idea he does everything on his own is nonsense.
  4. Ferdinand lol.....wasn't he cheating on his missus when she was terminally ill?! He's a cry baby bitch and I wouldn't give him the steam off my piss.
  5. We do water the shit out of the pitch prior to games kicking off. Iirc Kamara's right leg went off at an outward trajectory so maybe he slipped, although I haven't watched it back. It's a good place to start a conspiracy theory though. #Blamethegroundsmen
  6. Really good again today imo. The best of our midfield.
  7. He's a wonderful player but he either holds onto the ball to long at times or just switches off.
  8. Should just release him back to Galatasaray tbh. I actually feel sorry for him now. Absolutely no point in these silly end of the game cameos when nobody could find form under those conditions.
  9. Ridiculously subbed at a time when Utd were all over the shop and he was having his way. Poor from Emery imo
  10. I'd have started him and taken him off if we needed too. I'm another that doesn't believe in having half fit players on the bench because you can bring them on and they still break down, and then your bolloxed.
  11. Great manager and not doubting him, but I think he got it wrong this week especially not getting subs on earlier Weds when the game had gone. We should also be starting with the intensity we had in the middle of the game. If we'd started quicker we wouldn't have lost that game today.
  12. Much better but in the end positional play and lack of bravery is imo why he needs replacing.
  13. Fulham good at home and Luton are very physical and could easily turn us over now they've started to get a grip of the PL pace. I know people think we should be winning these game but we aren't earning the right to atm.
  14. TBF I think this is on Unai. Flogged many of the players against Chelsea on Weds instead of making subs early when the game had gone and started without enough urgency today. Player mistakes haven't helped but we haven't used the squad enough outside the forced changes. Might not be popular but thats how I see it.
  15. Get Torres on ffs. I'd also get Kamara off, drop McGinn in with DL and bring Diaby on for more support for Leon and Watkins
  16. They were there for the taking at OT and we still managed to balls it up. We need to raise the intensity in games. Playing slow is for when your in the lead. Our biggest problem recently other than a crap defence is starting games too slow. If you look at every game we've excelled it's been through starting quickly. It's a problem and needs rectifying.
  17. We started far too slow and now find ourselves chasing the game. We've been decent but just over playing in the final third and taking too long to get shots off. We really need to be more intensive from the get go instead of giving ourselves too much work to do. I don't understand why Torres is on the bench if he isn't fit enough to start, you could easily take him off later on if necessary.

  19. I agree.... The thing is as kids they get lauded over before even getting to the pro's. For what it's worth he's supposed to be a really good lad but like many boxers who've been in the gym since they were kids, sooner or later many end up playing up as adults. I had similar experiences myself as a 17/18 year old after 9 years in a gym and 6 boxing in the amateurs. You go a bit crazy when you hit a certain age unless you've got the right people keeping you on the straight and narrow. One of my good friends as a kid, and a fantastic amateur ended up on heroin, It ruined his life. And yeah, some kids are brilliant amateurs but when it comes to the pro's they never quite have the pop in their punches to hang with the big boys. Having a good level of power and ring craft as a bloke is such a determining factor when stepping into the pro's.
  20. Frankie Gavin was a coke head and just not dedicated the way he should have been. He was doing it right they way through his career. Facts
