  1. Did you catch the incident a couple of weeks ago when he didn't know the mic was on and said something along the lines of 'Am I **** on it today or what?!' He also makes no attempt to hide his disdain for certain tracks that he plays too. Let's just say he doesn't think much of Vampire Weekend (which is even more reason for me to like him to be honest).
  2. Which is how the Coen's would want you to treat it. It's far closer to the book than the John Wayne version. Although for me, that version is superior and that's coming from a Coen fanboy.
  3. Really enjoyed The Fighter last night. Bale is as excellent as expected, but for me this is Wahlberg's movie. A fantastically subtle and contained portrayal of a man browbeaten by his dysfunctional family and torn between being loyal to them and his own aspirations. The supporting cast all deserve a mention too, with Melissa Leo being particularly excellent. 9/10 for me.

    Dogs...

That's about the same as me. We've had them in the past and I grew up in a house which was never without one, but I still find I have more of an affinity with cats.
  5. It's what happens when Guy Ritchie reads too much material he doesn't understand and decides to have a lovely big wank for everyone to see. Avoid it like the plague. Oh, and shoot the friend who recommended it to you, it's for the best.
  6. Star Wars: The Old Republic Guild Wars 2 Skyrim
  7. Another great result, the momentum continues.
  8. Even though the first trailer isn't too great, i still think it will be much better than Green Hornet, which was awful imo.
  9. Winterbottom has a very eclectic style and choice of projects doesn't he? I half expected Steve Coogan to walk in at some point during the film* Great performance from Casey Affleck again, and one of the most unsettling scenes I've watched for a while. *not really
  10. It's probably about as historically accurate as Carry on Cleo to be honest. It is, however, great fun.
  11. I was thinking about Veerhoven earlier on actually, there was an article I was reading about Rutger Hauer's best ten movies and Flesh and Blood was on the list. I fooking loved that film when I first saw it, I'd never seen a film which portrayed the medieval ages as so...well medieval. Top entertainment for anyone who hasn't seen it.
  12. Went to see the new John Carpenter movie (The Ward) the other night. I enjoyed it for what it was, which was an old-fashioned suspense thriller with some hokey acting and plot holes, both of which actually added to it's charm. It's certainly a long way from the genius of Assault on Precinct 13 and Halloween but at least it's a step in the right direction ie. it's not Ghosts of Mars.
  13. Found it fine mate - the radial control system became intuitive after the first couple of hours.
  14. Superb stuff. Catalina Saavedra deserves all the much talked about plaudits she received for such a magnificent yet subtle performance.
  15. Over the moon. Great debut from Bent who did exactly what we bought him for, and the rest of the lads fought and battled their bollocks off today. Great stuff. Hope Milner enjoyed watching that one
  16. Agree, I got her album after hearing a couple of her tracks on 6music. It's good stuff.
  17. He knows his stuff. This is a great album, mostly overlooked which is a shame because it's better than the silliness that came after. Saying that, no doubt he's still enjoying the funds his silly period provided . I've been a big fan of Mr.Furnier for years, I was even at his London Marquee gig (Alice Trashes the Marquee), which is considered one of his most famous live performances due to the size of the venue and his popularity at the time. And apart from his trad-metal era (Constrictor, Raise your fist etc) and soft-rock shite like Trash (Desmond Child, need I say more?) he's done some fantastic stuff. In fact, the sequence of albums from Love it to Death up to and including Welcome to my Nightmare contain some absolute top material.
  18. I think Hardy will be an exceptional villain. Anyone who saw him in Bronson or The Take will attest to that.
