  1. Would have 100% agreed with you before I saw him play live. Couldn't think up enough superlatives to describe him after the show though. (Think I've probably mentioned this before in here somewhere). :? Prince is actually underrated IMO. Most people only know his pop hit songs and have no idea he's actually a great guitarist. All 3 feet of him. Prince (when he's not hunting down jockeys) is a phenomenally good live act.
  2. Never, ever got the fascination with Elvis. Glorified club singer.
  3. Apart from the obvious culprits like U2, Stereophonics and Coldplay (**shudders**) there's also predictable churned out, over-polished, trite shite like Nickelback and Kid 'bastard' Rock. Also 80% of the absolute gubbins played on Kerrang radio that I occasionally have to suffer through (Linkin Park, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Toilet and all that copy and paste corporate cock-sucking bollox). Oh, and Bucks Fizz.
  4. Mystic River is a fantastic movie, Penn and Robbins both very deserving of their Oscars.
  5. Hahahah! Roger Corman + Eric Roberts = OTT Tacky Win!
  6. I thought it was great fun to be honest mate and it certainly didn't get many bad reviews (currently on 87% on RT which is very, very positive).
  7. Went to see this today - Absolutely loved it. Massively recommended.
  8. It's not ridiculously difficult to follow actually, it's basically a two sided story. It's not quite as straight forward as 'The Straight Story' but it's certainly not as totally out there as Inland Empire. Lynch at his best imo.
  9. I think Exorcist 3 is a great horror movie. Relies heavily on suggestion and atmosphere rather than out and out gore, and by doing so it creates a great sense of foreboding and tension. George C Scott and Brad Douriff are excellent in it, and a couple of the scenes (the old woman on the ceiling, the infamous 'sheers' scene) are really top notch.
  10. Well, it's the only Paul W.S Anderson movie that hasn't made me vomit blood whilst watching it so I suppose that's something.
  11. "Oh help me Mrs Medlicott I don’t know what to do I’ve only got three bullets And there’s four of Motley Crue" Well, I can see why some have a problem with them, but I really, really liked their first 6-7 albums. Ugly kid Joe- Cats in the cradle (on the radio) Have you read The Heroin Diaries Pelle? Even someone who can't stand their music (like me) found that book fascinating. How that bloke is still alive is beyond belief.
  12. Nothing wrong with a bit of Jackass. I went to the flicks to see it in 3D and laughed my bollox off at it. Sometimes you need a bit of mindless tat.
  13. Yojimbo... :notworthy: One of my favourite movies and also one of my favourite stories. Such simplicity and yet so affective.
  14. One of his best... Superb stuff, the dialogue is punchy and funny and the black and white cinematography is faultless, with some truly innovative camera work. Great, great movie.

  16. My guess is it will sound a bit like Feral. 8) Its coming out sooner than the summer too. 21st March and all the pre-order stock has sold out already in all three outlets. Bugger going to have to beg Probe to reserve me a copy now Have you heard the tracks yet Bicks? Very good and so blindingly obvious which track is Four Tet and which is Mr.Burials.
  17. Recently watched the Blu-ray version of the Directors Cut. Outstanding.
  18. I thought it was **** awful to be honest, and I have quite a soft spot for the original
  19. Just watched If I existed in a universe where I had never ever seen Scum, then I would have said it's a very good prison movie with some solid performances. However, as I exist in a universe where I have seen Scum (TV version and movie version) many, many times then I'll say it's a decent attempt at an update to that particular classic with some solid performances. There are some glaring differences (the relegation of the Archer character to a wimpy faux philosopher is particularly hard to take) but after all is said and done it's a solid enough movie with the only real drawback being that most of the way through I found myself wishing I was watching the Alan Clark original.
  20. My guess is it will sound a bit like Feral. 8)
  21. Erm...Big Man? Schindlers List? Michael Collins? He HAS been in some stinkers to be fair, but he's certainly nowhere near the worst actor around.
