  1. For me if we are going to sign 3 players we need a left back, a right winger and a striker. Left Back - No idea but I'm sure there are a few around, Bruce hopefully has his eye on one currently for a loan deal. Right Wing - For me Snodgrass coming back would be immense for us, he's the type of player we need and was by far the best loan signing last season. If Wet Spam don't let us have him I would see if Albrighton could be tempted into a loan deal back to Villa. Striker - I think Bruce is playing the waiting game on Abraham which I don't think will pay off, I imagine he is going to be tempted into a season trying to break into the first team. It also looks as though Success is not coming with Watford not signing a striker, can't say I'm dissapointed with this as he hardly has a goalscoring prowess. I think we need a target man up top; we all know that we need to be knocking the ball around on the deck with Grealish feeding a striker through balls or our wingers cutting inside, but Bruce just isn't going to get us playing that type of football. If he did we all ready have Hogan in place who would be perfect. If we can get a target man in, someone in the ilk of Benteke (not Benteke, just let it go guys) from his time at Villa, can bring a ball down, good with his feet and strong in the air, then we are all set. Unfortunately that's the type of striker that teams won't be letting go. All in all its been a decent transfer window, and going from losing Chester & Grealish with no incomings, to signing 4 players and keeping our squad together is immense.
  2. Steer Hutton Elphick Chester Taylor Whelan Elmo Hourihane Grealish Adomah Kodjia No need to change a winning team, especially after a 3-1 win. With Yeovil on Tuesday there is plenty of opportunity to give the new boys 90 minutes, see what they can do and restructure ahead of Ipswich. Personally I would bring McGinn on for Whelan if things are going well, it will be interesting to see how a midfield three of McGinn, Hourihane and Grealish works. If Hourihane and McGinn can both work box to box allowing Grealish to push forward in an ACM role we could negate the need for a DM in certain games. We need to stick with Kodjia, get him firing again and see if we can get him back to the form he was in before injury. Unfortunately we are going to just have to put up with the selfishness for a while.
  3. It's been very quiet for a transfer deadline day, I thought this would be the day where the Villa rumours go mad. I think we will be lucky to see one signing today.
  4. 3 o'clock kick off so should be part of the International AVTV package
  5. To be honest if he forces a move by handing in a transfer request it makes the whole thing a lot easier to take. We take £30 million, be shot of him and sign someone to take his place. The last thing you want is a player who thinks he's better than the team and wants out.
  6. I hope they reject £25 million and repeat that they want £35 million I hope later today they reject £30 million and repeat they want £35 million I hope tomorrow they finally stump up the £35 million as the window closes, and we just reject it anyway and tell Levy to go swivel.
  7. We'll sign who we want, We'll sign who we wanttttttttt, We're Aston Villa, We'll sign who we want!
  8. Elmo was arguably our best player last night and was one of our better attacking options... just saying...
  9. I was calling for Bjarnasson to be played DM in this game, but I actually thought Whelan had a really good game. DM is one of those positions where you never get noticed or covered in glory, he made some crucial tackles and tracked the midfield well all game. Bruce just need's to choose his DM wisely for each game and specific team we play against, it's something we didn't do enough of last season.
  10. Being linked to John McGinn this morning from Hibernian, from Youtube he looks like a poor mans Grealish... Does this tell us something?
  11. I hope we set up like this: Steer Hutton Chester Elphick Taylor Whelan Elmo Hourihane Grealish Adomah Kodjia
  12. The suspense of finding out if Grealish is in the squad is killing me... him staying along with the number of additions we are going to be making this week could turn this season on its head...
  13. Just spent 15 minutes trying to insert some screen grabs of Twitter but can't work out how to do it... Villa Transfers has tweeted that there are another 2 (possibly 3 depending on how you read his tweets) medicals tomorrow. This will be on top of Tuanzebe and Nyland. I imagine Bryan will be one... any guesses on the other two? Woods and Abraham with Grealish staying for me would make it the perfect transfer window.
  14. Steer Elmo Chester Elphick Hutton Bjarnasson Adomah Hourihane Grealish Green Kodjia Moreira, Taylor, Bree, Jedinak, Whelan, Lansbury, Doyle-Hayes or Knibbs
  15. He's suspended for the first two games
  16. I know plenty about your mum ? Sorry, it was too easy...
  17. Tammy Abraham on the bench for Chelsea, do we think they will keep hold of him this season and integrate him into the first team?
  18. I'm pretty certain Tuanzebe will return and start next to Chester this season. Although it won't be until United sign themselves a new centre back first.
  19. To be honest, after today and last nights game I'm more excited about this season than I was on Thursday. Derby last night were poor, Reading made them look pretty average at times. Some of the results this afternoon have been very odd (although I understand the Championship throws these up every week) Right now Swansea look pants (watch them win 3-0 now...), from what I have seen we have nothing to fear and even with the loss of players we could really give it a go this season. For me Stoke and possibly Leeds will be the teams to watch.
  20. That's what I'm getting at, we don't need to be signing another player of the same ilk
  21. Interestingly Ryan Woods was not involved for Brentford today... although he may have been injured. He's also linked heavily with Swansea as well now...
  22. No thanks, we need to be injecting youth and pace into our midfield not a slow, ageing midfielder that thought he was better than the club years ago (quite rightly but it still annoys me) For me a midfield of Bjarnasson, Hourihane & Grealish will be miles better than the majority of Championship midfields. With Lansbury, Jedinak, Whelan & Doyle Hayes used well in games that suit them we have a very strong midfield. Saying that if the rumours of Ryan Woods are true then I would welcome him with open arms.
  23. Should be today, Tuesday 6pm leaves us 48 hours to replace him. Hopefully they have said 40m by Saturday or **** off
