  1. Unfortunately for De Laet Bruce currently has a fascination with playing a centre back at right back despite the fact we have 4 perfectly capable right backs at the club. When he finally realises his mistake he will begin to play his love child aka Elmohamady at right back instead. It wouldn't at all surpsise me if we see De Laet leave on a loan again this week.
  2. Not really, I come on here to talk Villa not explain myself to Leeds fans with a chip on their shoulder...
  3. We looked better when he went off... because he was injured for pretty early on in the first half and carried the injury through to half time... it limited his movement and his influence on the game. To say that he should be dropped is utter nonsense. He's our best player by a country mile and we would have won yesterday had he been able to play the 90 minutes. Granted Hourihane played very well when he came on but he is a player that can influence the game from deep as his game is based more on box to box running, tracking players and making late runs into the box. To get Grealish firing on all cylinders for us we need to start playing him in the attacking midfielder role with two centre midfielders behind him who can do the dirty work and drop deep to pick up the ball and carry it. McGinn and Hourihane can do this. Bruce unfortunately is too afraid to drop the defensive midfielder in place of an attacking midfielder, and it could be argued that with the state of our defence the defensive midfielder is now needed more than ever. The last two games have proved that going forward we are a threat, and with the current defensive vulnerabilities we are going to have to rely on a 'we will score more than you' attitude if we are to succeed.
  4. I'm more annoyed that we are going to miss out on seeing him tomorrow due to the delay.
  5. Bit of rotation in this one, a few players could do with resting against an average/poor Reading side. Nyland De Laet Chester Jedinak Hutton Hourihane McGinn Elmo Grealish Green Kodjia Jedinak is only in there because Bruce won't drop him. Personally I would play Tuanzebe, however after listening to Bruce's Pre Match I think he will rest him Saturday. Whelan needs resting, we saw last season that he can't play too many games in a short space. Bjarnasson could come in, but I want to see what Hourihane, McGinn and Grealish look like as a three from the start. Adomah looked knackered at the end on Wednesday, give him a rest with Green coming in... unless El Ghazi is passed and fit enough to start on either the left or right. Think we should bury this lot, but we need to start as we did on Wednesday and take the chances we create. Hourihane could make a massive difference and will have a point to prove in the middle.
  6. Bruce would probably play him centre midfield...
  7. You realise Adomah is a right winger... he has been converted to a left winger with Bruce's tactical nous. No chance we are selling him, there's always a spot at right back, centre back or possibly in goal up for grabs.
  8. Have you not heard that this will be our team by the end of the month? Nyland Milner Chester Terry Young Barry Delph Grealish Bolasie Benteke Albrighton
  9. Win tomorrow and we are back level points with the leaders going into Reading at home on Saturday. As we know at this stage of the season it's all about keeping the pace, and trying to maintain the magic 2 points per game which we are currently on course for. Encouraging to see Leeds wobble tonight, a Wolves team last season would have won that, as would have Newcastle the season before.
  10. Forgot how good he was before his injury. Hopefully it hasn't impeded him too much... unless he ends up at Boro mind...
  11. Well we currently have old legs at centre back in Jedinak or Elphick on the bench. I would rather have the old legs of John Terry over both of these options.
  12. Bjarnason over Hourihane? Green in centre midfield?
  13. So far... I say this because we know how quickly games change... Swansea are outplaying Leeds. Swansea haved looked pretty poor so far this season so it just shows the gulf in class between teams is not as great as in the last two seasons. Both very beatable if we can get the right players in before the loan window slams shut.
  14. I think JT will sign for us at the end of the month, from his Instagram he has clearly kept himself in shape as he does every summer. An extra two months off is exactly what he needed after last season. As far as a pre-season goes, he is a step above other defenders in this league and will have been professional enough to keep his fitness up in the off season. If we can afford to pay his wages (reduced from last season) then it would be stupid not to bring him back. Both for his footballing ability and his dressing room presence. Bruce seems to want to play a dominant aerial defender and I would much rather see Terry fill the role over Jedinak. The only reason I can see Terry potentially not coming back is with the 26 shirt no longer being available, this suggests that him coming back was never planned. Although if this is something that his since been decided it won't change things. Long term we need to get a new centre back in as a priority once we have money to spend.
  15. I think if Bruce sells him his vision he will choose Boro ?
  16. If we do can we close this thread down... until Saturday 5pm? ?
  17. Benteke is a shadow of his former self. It's crazy how much of a different player he looks from when he was with us. Still only 27 years old and he looks as though he could be finished at the top level, although he could possibly suit a slower game abroad.
  18. I'll be dissapointed with Tavares, he's almost 30. If he hasn't made it at a decent side so far in his career then he never will. The Youtube video reminds me of a slightly quicker Christopher Samba
  19. Not this again...we are still unbeaten you know...
  20. Think you may be disappointed as Hogan is out injured for the foreseeable future
  21. I'm all for dropping the wingers out until we can get some loans in who provide us something different out wide. We also need to look at resting some players midweek. Nyland De Laet Tuanzebe Chester Hutton Whelan Hourihane McGinn Grealish Kodjia Green For me Jedinak needs both a rest and dropping out of a position he cannot play. Tuanzebe can then play his natural position. Rest Elmo and give De Laet a go in his natural position. Rest Bjarnasson and bring Whelan in to do all of the dirty work and let Hourihan, McGinn and Grealish off the leash. Green to come back in and play alongside or just behind Kodjia, he will provide some legs chasing down balls and let Kodjia do his thing on the ball.
