  1. . You think that the war on the poor that the Tories are waging while handing out tax breaks to the rich and selling off any public asset not nailed down, is the third way!!! Seems like normal Tory behavior to me.
  2. Gabby has got away with very little stick considering his dreadful form of the last 3 seasons.Few others at the club have had such an easy ride.
  3. Yes, you do indeed come from the South East.
  4. Bent is a better option than Gabby. There again, my Granny is probably a better option than Gabby. Lets just hope Benteke is back sooner rather than later.
  5. People seem to be ready to knock this guy the minute he plays. He has a proven track record at this level, other players have shown it is possible, given the right encouragement, for players to refind some form, Hutton is a good example. Agbonlahor has been shit for YEARS yet gets nothing like the dogs abuse Bent gets. Given the same chances , Bent will put away more goals than Gabby or Weiman. He's worth giving a chance in my opinion.
  6. How can we tell that unless he is actually give a chance? With the top two currently performing so poorly what is the harm in giving a player a chance for more than 15 minutes to show what he can offer? A defeat maybe? Every point is crucial. I see where you are coming from but for Lambert not to play him when Gabby and Weimann can't score then there must be something not right with him. Or Lambert.
  7. Hoe can you deserve a game because others are playing bad? Does this mean if Vlaar has a couple of bad games we should chuck in Baker? If Vlaar has a couple of bad games, we have Baker or Clarke, a pretty scary option. If Gabby or Weiman have the same we have a proven goalscorer with over a hundred premiership goals. Hardly the same scenario. At the moment Weiman is playing poorly , Gabby has been awful for a long time. Bent is absolutely worth persevering with, at least until Benteke returns.
  8. A poor player who has managed to fool some of the fans all of the time. I'm not one of them. Never rated him. He's an athlete not a footballer. Will be happy to see him go, though its hard to imagine anyone who would be stupid enough to buy him.
  9. Any restrictions on benefits would most likely apply to all foreigners, not just certain nationalities. . Incidentally according to the BBC there are an estimated 5,000,000 Brits working abroad, 1,300,000 in Australia alone. Quite a large number .
  10. It should be noted that cross border arrangements involving benefits are in most cases reciprocal. So any reduction in entitlements here will also potentially affect our own welfare security if we choose to live and work abroad. The flow of people is not just one way.
  11. Yes it is . The Tories claim that our benefits act as a magnet for european scroungers. Yet it would appear that countries that have higher payments attract fewer people. Doesn't, quite fit in with the Ukip pleasing bullshit that Cameron spouts. I find it very relevant.
  12. The reason we struggled last season is because we have too many rather poor players, who simply struggle to cope at Premiership level. Ahmadi is a classic example, although not the only one. Hope to see him gone soon. But given the current state of the club as regards the impending sale, I fear we may be stuck with him and various others who will once again struggle.
  13. I'll take the Geek over the snake oil salesman anyday. There's something inherently untrustworthy about Cameron,
  14. Front Nationale have been 'prominent' for years, but France is not a 'moderate' country, it is a socialist country, and will always be so. Nationalist parties like FN and BNP appeal to voters who would normally vote for socialist parties, not more moderate right wing parties. And you base these outrageous statements on which in depth study. Oh , that would be the one carried out by the school of " I think it, so it must be true".
  15. If incomes were not so low for so many people, taxes would not be an issue. Low pay is the problem.
  16. We're a poor team, with a poor manager. No great surprise that we lost this game.
  17. Those are real 'football cities', Birmingham isn't really. Yes it is.
  18. Careful. Arnie might terminate you for such talk.
  19. I just thought the same thing, especially as many fans say that is their favourite. Not for me. Aston Villa should never have stripes as our main kit. Leave that to the Bog Rolls. Claret body with light blue arms thank you. Some things should be sacrosanct .
  20. Baker was a disaster waiting to happen yesterday. Thankfully it didn't quite happen, as it so often has with him. Villas problem is actually a lack of quality through every area of the pitch. Sat with a group of Villa fans after the game yesterday, and we all agreed this was the worst Villa team we'd seen in a long time, we made a list of those players we would keep if this potential takeover materializes. We were struggling to get past five names, Baker was not among them. Depressingly bad days.
  21. I don't think it's a coincidence we've fell apart since he went off against Stoke. I don't think he's great on the ball, but off it he's superb. The word Superb and KEA do not belong together. He really is nothing special. Superb is a word I use for Mortimer, Cowans, Rioch etc. Using such words for the KEA's of this world is just silly. His game is at best adequate in certain areas and poor in others. The fact that he is anywhere near our first team is simply an indication of the paucity of talent we have in our squad.
  22. What we miss, is a genuine quality midfield. The fact that nonentities like him are anywhere near our first team shows how far we have fallen.
  23. If only the NHS wasn't thrown into every left wing argument. Billions are spent on the NHS, billions on an organisation where wasteage, fraud, and general thievery are part of the daily routine of some connected with it. I remember reading a report a few years back which said the NHS is the most efficient health provider in the world. Providing expensive treatments and operations at a fraction of the cost in private hospitals . Fraud and thievery are to be found in every large organization. There is no evidence that it is endemic or even on a particularly large scale in what is generally regarded as a sleaze free NHS. Unlike some political parties[
