  1. Hard to judge Unai on this because he has to rotate to keep our Premier League run going, and ultimately got the 3 pts while resting some key players. The real issue here was our squad depth. Some fine performances, but I don't think Duran or Bailey are actually very well suited to this kind of game, as they both need space in behind, and I think we would have benefited from Pau's passing from defence. McGinn colossal although worrying we've needed 96 mins from him to achieve it when he'll be needed again on the weekend. Tielemans the big disappointment for me because I thought this game was set up for him, and although he had some good moments, he just doesn't seem to be on it ... I worry about his body language. He looks like he's pissed off at not getting starts and trying to prove too much. If we want to compete on several fronts in future we'll need to keep adding talent to this squad. Referee was very good btw - don't think he made any major mistakes bar the penalty, which he (correctly) fixed on the VAR check.
  2. The irony is Emery is starting to look like a Premier League specialist
  3. Haha but genuinely in games like this, our attributes in attack aren’t that useful. You need some individual technical quality to break down this defence. Zaniolo, Traore etc might be our best bet
  4. Needs a moment of magic from someone like Zaniolo. Dare I say it this is the kind of game where Coutinho would have been useful. We’re not used to playing against a team that parks the bus
  5. Luiz has always reminded me a bit of Pirlo who played as a 10 and an 8 early in his career but drifted back to a ballplaying 6. Similar story with Scholes. I don’t think it’s right that Smith misused him - he was our best option at 6 at the time, and did a good job there, especially in that relegation survival run in post lockdown. Since Kamara arrived he’s been able to play a more complete role, and then Emery’s system with natural CMs playing wide mid has given him even more freedom.
  6. I think I’m quite a hyperactive anxious person and I find it relaxing … I actually destroyed my sex drive when I was doing a lot of drugs, and then when I sorted my health out it came back. I’m also lucky that our work means we both generally have time in the day to do it and still do all the other boring things we need to do. But she only really plays ball for one week or so a month like I said. Then I’m a ball of nervous energy and have to do loads of exercise etc to distract myself. Realising now I’m a headcase now I write it all out.
  7. If work hasn’t **** us too hard, yeah, but we don’t have kids… I’ve no doubt this won’t last forever
  8. Problem I have is her sex drive changes enormously through her menstrual cycle and it took me a while to realise I wasn’t doing something wrong when she suddenly lost interest, as it’s the same pattern every month and I just know when to expect it. Get one week of pretty much 2 or 3 times a day, and then it’s the odd sympathy shag to keep me motivated. Think affection and being nice to each other and looking after chores and things keeps it going. The other thing I struggle with a bit is the difference between f**king and making love, as sometimes she wants one and sometimes the other, whereas me being a simple man with simple needs I’m happy with whatever’s on offer, I just need a gentle steer in the right direction.
  9. No crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus, lay down his sweet head
  10. One minor criticism of an otherwise stellar performance - I thought he was pretty slow to get back after he made that run forwards with the ball to the edge of their box. Was a great break by him, but then he waved his arms in frustration when the ball was intercepted, and jogged back. Don’t know if that was just confidence that other players were covering him, or us being 3 or 4 goals up, but I wonder if Emery will pick him up on that.
  11. Dunno, whenever an inch perfect through ball is played from defence you notice him! So unusual to have a playmaker at CB. But yes increasingly his defensive work is going unnoticed, which is a good thing
  12. Stunning performance from him today, he really set the tempo of the press and he was solid in possession too
  13. The Solly March header is one of them, which tbf was a good chance. Not sure about the other one
  14. Hard to understand how the xG is derived from 7x as many total shots, and 5x as many shots on target. We’ve clearly had many more decent chances. I don’t understand it. The xG concept is sound in principle, but it seems to be really badly calculated.
  15. Yeah it def hasn’t looked like a game with equal xG to me. Brighton have had some good chances but we’ve been all over them
  16. Sorry gave this a laugh because we both had same thought at same time, but yes, agree, a great game
  17. Yeah I'd be amazed if it happens, or at least if it happens in the way that's being promoted atm. Boxing is a farce
  18. Oh yeah, I agree, it's completely senseless and sad. Pathetic for someone to do it. But the way people are talking about it is hysterical.
  19. Couldn’t really give a **** about this tree Saw someone on Twitter describe it as an “outpouring of grief”. Get a grip ffs
  20. I'm a bit perplexed by all of this. It sounds like pure rage about something. To not ask your husband of 23 years whether he has a brain tumour... I don't get it.
