  1. You are making up statistics. This is the problem with the Bannan criticism. It's constructed out of thin air and innate bias against a player they don't understand. Bannan didn't give away many "pointless and dangerous free kicks." He committed only EIGHT fouls the entire season in 18 starts. Only Jordan Bowery and Simon Dawkins had a lower fouls per game rate. http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/24 Unbelievable. Oh dear 1-0 Con. Well the gif's are erm...funny. But how many pages now, and nobody has managed to offer a reply to this? 'He gives away pointless and dangerous free kicks'? Well I can't find a stat on pointless and dangerous free kicks, but anecdotally I'd say I can't recall that being a particular problem of Bannan's. I'm calling bullshit. Come on give us a gif, love, I know you love it x
  2. Football's a physical game so if you play in midfield at the top level you have to offer something physical unless you're really really good like Messi. Bannan offers zero physically apart from giving away pointless and dangerous free kicks. His set pieces are lamentable esp the corners (westwood's are way better) He doesn't appear to have any discernable goal threat. His passing is quite good but let down by going for too many Hollywood balls Basically he's a Championship player
  3. Got to be Trainspotting for me, the film totally blew me away, absolutely fantastic with a sensational soundtrack. Helps that it reminds me of a really great time in my life - League Cup win, Britpop, Euro 96, finishing my postgrad in a glorious summer in Norwich
  4. Randolph's a clueless spoilt little rich kid who fluked out by having a billionaire for a dad. I'm pretty convinced that in most other circumstances that this serial f*ckwit would now be currently be in some crappy trailer park smacked off his tits on crystal meth.
  5. If you're going to run a football based business surely it might be a good idea to appoint at least one person in an executive position who at least knows a little bit about football rather than a bunch of clueless sycophants.
  6. To be brutally frank you can get away with being that small in central midfield if you're really really good but he's nowhere close and his set piece delivery is pitiful.
  7. Totally agree, someone with an ounce of tactical awareness and motivation might give us a small chance
  8. The bloke behind me said 'Bannan should do one back to the Shire and play with Bilbo and Frodo' Bit mean but it made me laugh
  9. Hair Bear Bunch are back to try and defend their title. Normally try and avoid Villa players but El Ahmadi looks like a must have as an enabler
  10. I think I agree with everything you say there he's a hopeless manager and was a ludicrous appointment but by all accounts he is a decent bloke and to be fair the combination of things you say at the beginning didn't help him. That said going to Villa games under him became a chore not an enjoyment - it was soul destroying. The best quote I saw about him was by Mark 'Lawro' Lawrenson towards the end of the season, something along the lines of 'if Mcleish wasn't so negative Villa would have ten more points'
  11. When he was a horse racing trainer Lardy Mick Quinn got a ban for poor treatment of his horses. I'm guessing he sat on them.
  12. I live in London and know a fair few Spurs fans, the ones whose judgement I trust were saying that Friedal was starting to show his age a bit at the tail end of this season
  13. I really wish someone would do a systematic audit of all the bollocks that these people write to demonstrate they're making most of it up
  14. Hoddle is tactically brilliant but unfortunately he's a complete tool so no-one can work with him. An amalgam of Hoddle (tactics) and Keegan (motivating squad) would have been perfect as England Manager
  15. I won! (hurrah for me) and on the day McLeish got the sack, double delight!! Really nice to win this after coming 7th and 5th in previous years. Finally hit some decent form in gwk 28 and managed to keep it going to the end. Hopefully with a decent manager they'll be some good value amongst the Villa players next year, not having any Villa players apart from Given for the first few weeks really helped this year...
  16. Totally agree, match of the day is a total waste of time - I want a pundit to tell me something i don't know or see myself, not state the **** obvious that even my 3 year old niece could see Gary Neville and Graham Souness are the only pundits that I really rate - they are challenging and always have something interesting to say.
  17. Shearer's a complete mug my mum has more of a clue than him, great player piss poor pundit. To be fair to MOTD Lawro at least seems to have worked McLeish out
  18. I remember our last game at Highbury when the Villa support sang 'we want O'Leary out' and 'we've got an honest bunch of lads' for most of the second half Got to get 'sack mcleish my lord' going for the whole 90 mins!
  19. Does McLeish actually know you get 3 points for a win, maybe he's suffering from premature dementia and thinks he's back in 1980 when you still got 2 points for a win. Would explain a lot
  20. All of QPR's good performances have been at home, their away form is beyond awful.
  21. I wonder if the board actually realise we can get relegated, I mean none of them have any knowledge or experience of football
  22. I'm just glad Wiemann bagged that goal against Fulham, he was good when he came on today and he seems to have a striker's instinct which the squad sorely lacks in the absence of Bent. Surely even McLeish must now see he should start next week.
  23. If O'Neill had signed him rather than Houllier you'd be worshipping him too
