Jesus, Wigan were shocking for most of last season. They were going down with 15 minutes of the season left, they spawned a win against Stoke who had a perfectly good goal ruled and 2 cleared off the line

It is not realistic to think that you can jump straight into the champion's league. You need to build a decent uefa coefficient otherwise you'll be unseeded and get knocked out in playoff or get a really tough group

I quit the game in April and deleted my lvl 80 characters (Work and raiding 4 times a week really didn't mix so I went cold turkey lol). I think I might have a look again when cataclysm comes out if only to explore the reformed Azeroth and maybe catch up with some old buddies. Do you know if I'll be able to get my old Warlock back or will he have disappeared forever? I know people who have had deleted characters restored but will I have left it too long to do this?

Self selecting polls are unscientific by their very nature of course. That said I think there is definite value in this exercise but only if its conducted less frequently. I doubt many rational people's opinion will change over the course of a week. If you sampled opinion once a month (say every third friday for example) people will be reacting to several weeks activity/trends etc. As someone who's conducted a few (hundred) experiments in my time I can say that sometimes you can have too much data and you end up not seeing the wood for the trees.

Difficult one, we played some good stuff tonight and there were some very good performances esp from Milner and Cuellar. However they had at least three excellent chances in addition to the goal they scored (Cuellar off the line and the two open goal misses) so I'm not convinced we defintely deserved to go through and remember this is against Rapid Vienna a team we really should be beating over two legs. It worries me that when we're on top of teams we never seem to put them away, I guess we lack a killer instinct. Taking Heskey off at 2-0 and bringing another midfielder on seemed an obvious move, also when we play 4-4-2 Petrov is invariably dead on his feet in the last fifteen minutes. I'm very unhappy at going out in this manner but the Thursday-Sunday run of games has been demonstrated to have a negative effect on domestic form so it may help in this regard. I only hope that we take the league cup seriously now, a run of 13 years without a proper trophy is too long.
