  1. Given time and at the right club then Chiriches can be a star player. But it probably won't be in the Premier League, and definitely not under Sherwood - he's not the type of player or character that Sherwood will appreciate. Most Spurs supporters think he's a bit of a joke, as his opportunities have been few and when they've come he's been thrown into the deep end. Ball playing central defender with lot of talent, he will take risks at the back and can be a bit soft. Pochettino is going to shape the massive Spurs squad in his image though, there's a lot of quality to be had there. Question is if it's possible to get them at reasonable prices. Stambouli, Dembele, Lennon, if Benteke leave then Adebayor would give Sherwood a great one season on loan (don't buy him on a long deal) Chiriches and Capoue are talented, but Sherwood won't like them and their laid back attitude
  2. They hope they'll mprove obviously, but their focus will be on promoting it as a Premier League game, not directly a West Ham game
  3. They are gonna try to become the choice for tourists and neutrals in London, cheap tickets, easy access to the stadium from central London. Every little hotel and bnb are going to sell tickets, like they do with musicals etc. Just look at how they promoted City's visit a while back, "come and see the stars of Manchester City"
  4. Adebayor used to be on 170k from his City days, they paid part of his wages at Spurs as well. Now he has to make due with only the 100k he get from us. Which would be okey when he's on fire, problem is he play well one season and is completely out of it the next. So you could perhaps say that since he only play 50% of the time, the times he actually is ready to perform you have to pay 200k for
  5. Konoplianka is yes, but I don't think he want to talk about a transfer before perhaps the most important game of his career. There's also a bit concern around his situation, whether his current club's owner is willing to let go of him. Pen and paper tend to not count as much as gun and crowbar there. Wimmer is said to have been sold by Köln for £4.25m, and many sources say it's Spurs and that we don't want it known before we're ready to announce the transfer. His national team manager confirmed it by mistake a while ago, and I see some articles today claiming Wimmer himself has said he's headed our way as well. And Spurs ITK of course are on it. Personally I haven't seen a full game from him, so don't know quite how good he is, but from what I hear he's had a very solid season in the Bundesliga behind him.
  6. Seen it suggested that both Lavezzi and Konoplianka has signed, but I'm not convinced that it's true. Kevin Wimmer is the third player it's being said about, and you can tell from the stories going around that Wimmer is the one that look most likely. Guess with Konoplianka nothing will happen before the Europa League final.
  7. Far from it, this was Everton's first season in Europa out of the past 5 seasons. Spurs have been in Europa League and that one Champions League campaign every season in the same 5 years. It's more or less even in the 5 seasons before that as well.
  8. This season likely to be more about him settling in, reckon he'll see some action coming off the bench (might just as well be in a more attacking position). Think we're open to offers on Naughton, still there'll be a lot of competition on the right back position and it will take something special to push Kyle Walker out of the side. Ryan Fredericks doing well on loan at Middlesbrough, while one of our most exciting youth players is also a right back, Kyle Walker-Peters. Pochettino's style of football need attacking full backs though, and it has been an issue this season that Walker has been injured. Dier and Chiriches doing well at times, but they are central defenders originally and can't provide the width Poch want from his full backs. Our play has improved a lot since Walker returned to the side, Yedlin seem to have similiar qualities. Reckon Naughton, Fredericks and Chiriches could be sold, while Dier will focus more on getting games in central defence. The depth in the squad is strong, yet there'll be more players signed and good players leaving. What we're seeing at the moment is Pochettino fine tuning the squad to his image and football philosophy.
  9. DeAndre Yedlin has joined Spurs from Seattle Sounders, transfer was agreed in the summer, but finalised now for january. Transfermarkt has the fee down to £2.29m
  10. They almost did, luckily we raised our game when Ryan Mason and Harry Kane came on.
  11. H.Lloris P.Zabaleta - T.Silva - M.Hummels - R.Rodriguez A.Vidal - L.Modric C.Fabregas R.Sterling - R.Lewandowski - L.Suarez
  12. I'll do a Spurs one. Decent enough. Jordan Archer Kyle Walker - Eric Dier - Ben Davies - Kyle Naughton Aaron Lennon - Ryan Mason - Tom Carroll - Danny Rose Andros Townsend Harry Kane
  13. Norway changed their coach a year ago, who try to get the team to have more of the ball than they are used to. Since the 90s Norway has layed low with the team and played counter, always a direct route. Now they aren't that far away from the tactics of Manchester City, a 4222. Two holding midfielder, and two attacking midfielders that can move both infield and out wide. Their results have been poor under the new manager, they dominate possession, but don't score goals and are soft at the back eventually leading to a goal or two against. Scotland, Denmark, Czech Rep have all been outplayed by this team, despite Norway not getting the results their performance have deserved. Star players are Mats Daehli from Cardiff and newly appointed captain Per Ciljan Skjelbred from Hertha Berlin, who are the two attacking midfielders. Also Omar Elabdellaoui is an exciting player, right full back, excellent going forward - not so much on the defence. Most of their players are a bit meh though. edit - looks like they've gone back a bit towards their traditional 451 with big nations England and Italy in upcoming games.
  14. really wouldnt call Red Bull a great team They've spent money to get a squad far beyond the usual standard of the austrian league. Won all 6 games in the group stage of Europa League last season and followed up with sending Ajax out of the competition. Lost narrowly to another quality team in Basel. Mane, Kempl, Alan and Soriano are all exciting players making them a dangerous team going forward. I'd say they are on level with the mid table Premier League teams like Swansea and Southampton - of course what makes a team a great team is up for discussion
  15. I remember he played against Spurs in the Nextgen series for them a couple of years ago. Scored twice and looked amazing for that level, wondered whether he'd take the step up
  16. Not sure whether today's game means we should get rid of some of them or sign even more
  17. You can have a maximum of 25 senior (above age 21) players registered to play in the Premier League. If you want to have 25 men registered, 8 of these have to be home grown. This automatically leads to the fact you can only have 17 senior players that are not home grown (foreign in most cases) A club is however not forced to have neither 25 registered players, nor 8 home grown. But one affect the other, if you have only 7 hg players you can only have 24 registered, 6 hg players=max 23 registered players etc.
  18. Allen got an open hand on his upper body that did not prevent him from running through into the box with the ball under control, throws himself to the ground like a sissy - penalty Adebayor held back by two arms, dragging him backwards with the shirt standing out like a flag in rough wind, battles on and manage to send off a poor finish in unbalance - not a penalty ... And we wonder why players dive.
  19. Someone will leave, we've already agreed a Dawson transfer to Hull this summer, but he didn't want to go himself. I see there are Kaboul to Lazio rumours as well. Too many centre backs with question marks around them at Spurs. Will be good to have two top class ones that we can depend on in Musacchio if he sign and Vertonghen. Been a problem for too long at Spurs with injury plagued centre backs that force us to change defence too often I like Chiriches though, hope he stays - I'd be happy with Chiriches, Musacchio, Vertonghen and Dier. Shame about Kaboul who was turning into one of the best around before he picked up his injuries.
  20. To be fair to Lampard he's made an agreement with City that he will not play against Chelsea. I don't really see the problem, it's half a season to stay fit and it's not one of their local rivals or anything. Mateo Musacchio seems to be headed for Spurs, that's a signing that excite me. Villarreal manager has said he expect the transfer to go through soon.
  21. Using that logic then there's no need for a striker neither with Soldado and Adebayor already there. Apparently going to Atletico Madrid though. Think Schneiderlin is the one Spurs are after, have depth there too but Pochettino want midfielders that can move the ball quicker What's going to happen to your 500 other midfielders then? Once again I'll list them as it's completely ridiculously how many Spurs actually have on their books...o.k deep breath.......Tom Carroll, Ettiene Capoue, Lewis Holtby, Sandro, Paulinho, Bentaleb, Moussa Dembele, Christain Eriksen, Aaron Lennon, Townsend, Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli...seriously there's 12 there. Why so many when you can only play 4 or 5 at once? Of all those the only one imo who'll show himself to be really top class this season will be Eriksen, big fan of his. Moussa Dembele is a nice player to watch but he really dosen't produce enough over a season in terms of goals and assists. Schnderlein would be a very good signing though. Better to have one too many than be one short when needed. If Schneiderlin or someone else comes in the squad will be balanced with another one leaving. Don't think it's a problem, cover is needed in every position, you have to remember that Spurs play in an additional tournament with a high number of games in as well. It's the depth in quality that makes it impossible for Spurs to finish outside of top 7.

  23. That would make it more plausible, even if it still sounds constructed by Nixon to me. These kind of deals seldom happens (even if it's a poor timing considering the trio that went between Spurs and Swansea just yesterday). Looking at Nixon's article, it sounds like he suggests 5m. + Holtby as part exchange + additional loan deals.
