  1. Looks like another loan unfortunately: http://metro.co.uk/2013/07/24/aston-villa-send-unwanted-defender-alan-hutton-on-loan-to-real-mallorca-3896342/
  2. Cheers Eastie, sounds good to me
  3. Haha love it Doug! Will definitely consider it. He already runs water for my rugby team of a Saturday and seems to picking up a few swear words such as "you fugly echidna" translated from "you're f#%^* kidding" lol!
  4. Perfect! Thanks guys. Looking forward to a rocking atmosphere at the ground this year. Exciting times. Cheers
  5. Sorry guys, I'm certain this gets posted a lot, but I am visiting the UK from Australia (hopefully I'm not a bad luck charm considering our other sporting atrocities of recent times!) and would love to take my mad Villa supporting 5 year old son to a match. He loves all the players, the songs and the club really as do I, so I was wondering where the best spot would be for us to get the full Villa experience on match day. Considering this is a once or twice in a lifetime chance for us, do we buy tickets for the holte end (if available) or are there other spots I am not aware of that are worth looking at? Can you book tickets online and pick up on match day etc? Can't wait to get back there after my first visit in 2005. Up the Villa!
  6. Thought the deadline was today too
  7. Certain Newcastle goal cleared off the line. Still nil all
  8. Don't the Man City's and Chelsea's of the world have to hang onto at least 8 'home grown' players these days? This means the likes of Milner and Sturridge will unfortunately go stale at these big clubs, as they won't want to offload them to other clubs to keep their quota up....
  9. I noticed PL had a 'light hearted' jibe at Dunne's weight last night. I couldn't see McLeish having the guts to do this even if it was tongue in cheek
  10. He seemed to get a lot of goals from the bench last season. Could become a Holt(e) End Hero with some late winners!!
  11. Agreed. The heights of 6th seem dizzying compared to the rot of the last season or two!
  12. Positive news: http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news/2012/02/03/aston-villa-darren-bent-reaffirms-his-commitment-to-villa-by-targetting-another-ton-97319-30257157/
  13. Thought Bolton dominated us in the air tonight which is a worry keeping Stoke in mind. Anyway, Brad did well, and its great to see him finally get a chance to have a decent run of games, although not under ideal circumstances (Given's injury)
  14. With you totally SellbyDate. Hopefully his run of 'bad' luck continues!
  15. He should have had an assist the week before against Newcastle too when Bent stuffed up that golden opportunity in the second half. I have already seen more glimpses of what he can do this season than last (but that isn't too difficult I guess!)
  16. It's "Hang your head in shame", not "hang yourself im shame" 'OnlyOne'! FFS!!
  17. You're getting me excited now NormandyVillain! What a week it will be if that all those results come to fruition
  18. Disappointed with the intial line up from AM, but hey it is pre season. Just thought it would never work, and unfortunately I was right, and we looked disjointed for 60 minutes until the subs came on. Our best front 3 at the moment seems to be Bent with Gabby and Heskey playing wide. Makoun needs to come in for Delph (disappointed with him last night), and Gardner looks absolute class. I hope we have him locked into a long term contract, and if not, get him signed up for 5 years now like CNZ and Given's contracts! Its probably a blessing in disguise that we got towelled up for the first 60 minutes, and might convince the owner to splash out on one more player hopefuly, and for AM to start working out our best combinations going into the PL season
