I reckon this is where JT has had his biggest impact. Has moulded him into the Voice and the Leader of our Defence. TM has his moments, but don’t we all. Very impressive individual and a great leader on and off the pitch of which we should all be proud to call ours. UTV.

He should play every game for us at the moment; just not as a starter. He hates being on the bench and comes on angry trying to prove a point; often providing a goal or an assist as a result. Case in point the Home Playoff Semi Final last year. Still baffles me how Deano doesn’t use him in this role more often. Lack of available options I guess....

I’m wondering if we don’t get another strike option to buy, whether loaning Tammy would suit us again as a ‘Plan B’? Having an option to buy would be ideal obviously. Still a few weeks off that scenario potentially playing out though, and only if we ‘fail’ to sign an Eduard or Rashica etc. Just a thought

Has, HAS to be used as an impact sub a LOT better than what DS is currently using him for. Needs to come on around 60 minutes every game for whoever is gassed, and continue the energy we are providing for 60 minutes in all our games so far this season. I am really baffled by DS’ use of our bench so far this season. I hate to say it, it’s been very Bruce-like, possibly worse this season in that regard. Sincerely hoping he has learnt from these errors in our first 6 games

Not good enough from Smith. His use, or lack of use of the bench has been cowardly the last few weeks. Needs to be tactically better for us to take advantage of these situations we find ourselves in. I love him, but he needs to look in the mirror and change his ways I’m afraid.

Hi All, Lifelong Villa fan from Australia here who made a ‘silly’ promise to take my family to Villa Park when we get back in the Premier League. Well that time has come hopefully. The stars seem to be aligning with the Tuesday night game against Watford on Jan 21. Any advice on how to purchase tickets (preferably prior to me leaving Australia) will be GREATLY appreciated! Sorry if this seems a silly question. I get the vibe that tickets may be hard to come by this season, although being a midweek match may improve my chances hopefully... Many thanks guys! Totally agree! Jack and John are so much better when Whelan starts (minus the major error the other day!). Bring a revved up Hourihane on after 60 minutes and let him unleash on a tiring opposition with Green and Kodj. Hopefully we are a goal or two up by then!

I’d have him off the bench after 60 minutes like the first leg. It also worked against SHA away and others throughout the year. His pace will be a nightmare for Cole.

A bit off topic, but looking at next week, is Gareth Barry injured for WBA? Haven’t seen him on their team sheet for a few weeks... (sorry if silly question, I’m a half drunk Aussie enjoying the match down under!)

He has been shit for Australia too in recent games, but scored a penalty a few weeks ago which seemed to have sparked his confidence. Not playing regularly at Palace didn't help his form. Playing regularly at Villa seems to be working in rekindling the form we know he is capable of

Was listening to it on the radio in the car on the way to dropping the kids at school here in Australia. My kids couldn't believe: a) we had actually won a game; and b ) that it wasn't a home game. The noise from our fans throughout the whole game, not just when we were in front was amazing, and something I am actually still proud of to associate myself with in the club at the moment.
