  1. Its the only thing that can make me smile after the torture of watching City and The Shit win the Cups and Manure win the league....again!
  2. Woke up in the middle of the night (Australian time) to a 'nightmare' that Houllier had just had a heart attack after we got beat by Newcastle late! Weird as. Got up to see the last 10 minutes of the match on tv and almost had a heart attack myself, particularly when 5 minutes injury time went up on the board. Massively relieved though to survive that last 10, we weren't in their half at all that whole time I was watching....
  3. Thank F#ck for 3 points! Should have had them against SHA and Fulham of late, so a win's a win in these trying circumstances. If we can keep amongst it til January, then we could be in for a late charge at European places with a few signings with the Milner $$$ hopefully! Hang in there fellas
  4. Friedel brilliant, and some good blocks by Luke. I'm continuing to be very frustrated with the way Warnock is just diving in to tackles, particularly in the box. Would have hoped he would have learned from his massive and costly mistake at Mancity late last season. Obviously not though, which is a continuing concern
  5. I agree. Saw more passion in him today, particularly tracking back in defence. He's alright
  6. Wins a win when we have had such a dire week. GREAT to see the scrambling defensive combo of Collins and Dunne back today. Brilliant!
  7. Bastard Folski!! I also got my hopes up to astronomical levels there. Too good to be true unfortunately! Have an awful feeling it's going to be Bradley unfortunately. Please PLEASE surprise us Lerner
  8. Is it just me or does Petrov look like he's 'running' like a cripple out there?? Noticed it towards the end of last season, when there was a hint of an achilles injury, but he looks even worse out there this year. Last week he didn't look too bad against a woeful WH midfield, but he looked just as woeful as them against Newcastle yesterday
  9. Agreed. Joe Cole leaving will definately increase the chances of Chelsea throwing some cash at us for Jim
  10. Aussies to hopefully surprise. We rely too heavily on our defence and the goal poaching of Tim Cahill unfortunately
  11. I'm a big fan of Downing and can see he has undoubted potential. Just think he needs a break at the moment as he has struggled the last few games minus the Burnley win. I don't think he's missed a game since his return?? I hope he proves me wrong and has a cracker on Saturday anyhow!
  12. Downing is woefully out of form at the moment. Needs a rest or something. Definately shouldn't be in contention for Beckhams 'spot' in the WC squad at this stage..... Other than that, everyone put in an ok performance with Milly the obvious standout.
  13. Perhaps Sidwell got votes for breaking Giggs' arm ruling him out of the League Cup Final?? First decent contribution from him for the season!
  14. Good points CM. Yes we are out of form at the moment (except for the defence!), but we are still well within striking distance of the top 4 after a tough, tough run of fixtures. I would have much preferred our 'lull' to come during this run of fixtures, and to have not lost too much ground, than to experience this form dropp-off against the lesser teams and in the Final at Wembley over the next few weeks. Hopefully the boys can turn it around now against some 'lesser' opposition and get some confidence up to churn out some good results in the next month and beyond. We're still well and truly in The Race for 4th!
  15. Very lucky IMO. Defence and Freidel absolutely superb, attack/midfield embarrassing today unfortunately. We need to do better in the attacking half if we are to take ourselves seriously as Top 4 candidates
  16. Ridiculous netting at The Cottage sees the ball bounce out of the nets on plenty of occasions I've seen games there. Very confusing particularly when viewed on tv. Great finishing from The Gab
  17. We looked the better side tonight, but probably paid the price for MON ridiculously not resting more players on the weekend, mainly Downing who looked knackered tonight, and Warnock whom we missed as Cueller again got found out a number of times at RB tonight. Frustrating!
  18. Well said Mr Burge. Still would have been nice for one of those countless chances to go in
  19. I just hope this lacklustre performance came instead of this week in the semi. From all reports it sounds like the lads were shattered we didn't win on Sunday, so surely they will be looking to redeem themselves. Classic examples of this occuring are the games after the Wigan loss (against Liverpool) and the loss to Plop at home (LC semi leg 1) not counting the FA Cup which had a fair amount of 'reserves/youth' playing.... MON will have them fired up I'm sure/hopeful!!
