  1. Ignoring the price I think ok - Steven Fletcher - goalscorer. Would come here and get 10-15 prem goals a season, which is exactly what we need so we aren't totally reliant on Bent (the only striker we have who can score regularly). I'd be all up for that. Then I think 13 million and I totally go off the idea, I think Wolves were closer to his correct value when they paid 7 million when they signed him. If only we had a scouting system like Newcastles and could pluck a Cisse out of the foreign leagues.
  2. Depends on further signings. If we sign the LB, striker and midfielder we need, id say 9th. If we stay as we are, around 13th.
  3. I phoned the club last week as not had mine, they said last batch being posted out this week.
  4. Bannan and Annan in the centre of midfield, could get confusing
  5. I'm pleased with the signings so far, think they will prove to be very astute. When I look at the overall squad though, still think it's average at best and the lack of depth very worrying. Only one striker that has proven he can score regularly at prem level. If N'Zogbia is as bad as last season and Holman takes time to settle I can't see what we will get from the wings. We are weak in the fullback positions. Plus now Dunne is injured we lack experience in the heart of the defence. Clark is still relatively unproven and Vlaar needs to adapt to the Prem. For me we need about 3-4 more players if we are to even finish in the top half this season.
  6. Haha yes that would be good. Or as I say on betfair, back em low, lay em high!
  7. I've been working in finance for a while now, and thought it would be interesting to start investing in the stock market (only on a small scale). I just wondered if anyone on here was into it and had any tips for a complete newbie to it?
  8. I took a risk and renewed mine even when McLeish was still here and we were in danger of going down. Looking a good decision now at £295 paying for it over 4 months interest free. Just hoping for a half decent appointment
  9. I think if he gets the offer from us, he'd take it. I appreciate lerner interviewing several candidates though to get a broader picture on it.
  10. Whys that? I think he was the leading contender until Solskjaer emerged as front runner, it now looking like Lerner is willing to take a risk on an up and coming manager who hasn't yet managed in the PL.
  11. Can only see one possible candidate for the job when i look through the contenders. Rodgers - holding out for a better offer imo Martinez - too risky incase he rejects us again Clark - seriously overrated by some on here, so good he had Jordan Rhodes on the bench for several games at Huddersfield and played 4-5-1 instead Mccarthy - need i say anything? This leaves Lambert, the man we need
  12. Whereas I'm not exactly pining for Martinez to be our next manager saying that he disrespected us just because he didn't join us last year is ridiculous. The man appears to be incredibly well-mannered and very respectful. He had his own reasons for turning us down, none of them were due to disrespect. I just think being offered the chance to manage a regular top 6 club with a fanbase treble the size of Wigan's and the trophy cabinet we boast from past decades should have been more than enough for him to come on board. Desperation if we go back in for him in my opinion.
  13. Hardly a 'brawl' but still very disappointing to see, although I'm starting to get used to our club being linked to incidents like these off the pitch after the past couple of seasons.
  14. Can't believe everyone wants Martinez. Short memories, how have you all forgotten that he completely disrespected us by turning us down to stay at Wigan, yes Wigan, last summer? Let him stay there fighting relegation every season, AVFC will rise into the top 6 again and he won't be a part of it.
  15. Point more than I expected. No idea why N'Zogbia got subbed, well I have, but he shouldn't have been. Think we'll survive only on goal difference, QPR will lose at Chelsea and Man City, then if they win their home game that will keep us above on GD.
  16. Just submitted my application for the 4 month Zebra plan sitting in K1 for just £295, hoping I get the paperwork through but I thought someone on here said there were none of those price left?
  17. Think we could nick this one nil. We were unlucky not to get something up at Newcastle and I honestly believe we aren't much worse than last season when we won this game.
  18. Looking at their team on paper without Cabaye and Tiote, I honestly think our line-up looks stronger. We just need all our players playing to their potential (particularly looking at Ireland and N'Zogbia here), but think our strikers will cause them problems and am expecting at least a draw today.
  19. Don't think it's sold out. You just can't buy them off the online site as it's too close to the game.
  20. Can't see many people bothering with that tbh, £41 plus travel on top. Thankfully I got in just in time for the £35 deal.
  21. So, just to be clear, are there any tickets left in the Arsenal end on general sale? Blimey, this thread is like a broken record.
  22. Comfortable win today, 3-2 would really have flattered them if the pen had gone in. Guzan 7 - Dealt with crosses well, pen save. Hutton 6 - Tried to get forward when could, not tested defensively. Dunne 5 - Too much hoofing, bad error for goal. Collins 6 - Not much better, but didn't make any glaring errors. Warnock 5 - Looked short of confidence, wasted possession and 1/2 chance to score badly wasted. Albrighton 7 - Brightest player for us first half, got goal, faded in the second half. Ireland 7 - Composed in possession, showed good work rate. Petrov 8 - Captain's display, v impressive assist for first goal. Clark 7 - Excellent solo goal, kept it simple in possession without standing out. Bent 6 - Starved of service, didn't really get into it. Heskey 7 - Unlucky not to score, won headers and held the ball up. Sub, Agbonlahor 7 - Lively and took goal well.
  23. the old MON chestnut.... who by the way has won half as many games already in 3 games as McLeish has managed ALL season. Don't compare this antifootball retard McLeish we have as manager with a decent manager. Its just silly. I'm not saying the two managers are comparable, but this result and performance taken in isolation was OK, if people want to moan at McLeish then they're entitled to on some of our other performances, particularly at home, but tonight we did well.
  24. Well you're all moaning about how negative and dull we were. I don't remember it being all that different when we went there a couple of seasons ago under O'Neill and ground out a 0-0.
